I take it you don't watch college football then? Look, ESPN is a business and it's their job to give their customers what they want. It's not their job to promote hockey. Sadly, most of their customers would rather watch poker than hockey. So that's what ESPN gives them. As a businessman I can totally understand why they dropped hockey after the lockout. I think ESPN does a great job of covering college and pro sports, just not hockey because they haven't seen the demand for it. Whose fault is that?

Sweet!!! I've been waiting all season to watch some HD hockey on my new plasma. Then again, none of the Lions pre-season games were in HD, but hopefully FSN-D will be better than the local fox station that aired the Lions.

Let me clarify by saying that I don't want him back *in his current condition*. Him being unable to fight or sacrifice his body in front of the puck or another player makes him essentially worthless to me. His physicality was one of his biggest assets and he himself said that he can no longer fight, which certainly means he wouldn't hit as hard and he would think twice about laying down to block a shot. I agree, Stuart isn't that great either. Rafalski did make some really bad decisions but he also came through in the clutch many times. He's an offensive defenseman so I give him more leeway. I'm not saying we have someone better on our roster, I was just saying that a frail and fearful Lilja is not much use.

He was having a good season for Lilja. He was not having a "good" season in the sense that he's a good defenseman. Look at his stats. All he was good at was taking penalties. I will give him this, he was good at blocking shots, but that was mostly because he was the biggest defenseman on the team. I don't want him back because he took stupid penalties and made stupid decisions with the puck at the worst possible times.

No offense guys but Lilja made a dirty play and got what he deserved. I don't want him on the team even if he could come back. Go back and watch the video of what happened before he got his ass handed to him by Weber. Also, he's not an enforcer by any means.

Yeah, and Randy died because he didn't listen to the doctors. Lilja will too. If I was a doctor there is no way in hell I'd clear him. Just because he doesn't want to fight doesn't mean that some thug won't sucker punch him and then he's out for the season, if not dead.

Yep, although the highlight to my St. Louis trip was probably touring the Anheiser-Busch factory. I don't like their beer, I just like breweries. The person below me has never tried a shot of Rumpleminz.

We have Comcast and Direct TV at the bar where I work. IMO, Direct TV sucks. It goes out when the weather is bad and the interface is terrible compared to Comcast as well. How much do you Direct TV guys pay anyway? With internet, HD and DVR I pay about 95 I think.

I vaguely remember those games. I was just getting into hockey and McCarty was my favorite player, so seeing him get the GWG was heaven for me. Also, man Philly sucked major balls on defense. Hard to believe how many stupid turnovers they had. And their goalies sucked too. Osgood gets flack for letting in one long-range goal ever but both of Philly's goalies let in numerous shots that should have been stopped.

So he still intends on playing there but the KHL said they wouldn't let him play because the NHL said they still have the rights...so which is it?

Maybe they like their Hawks now, but a few years back when the Hawks sucked I was going to Chicago every few weekends and I couldn't even get them to put the game on in any of the bars. They didn't give a crap about the Hawks then.

On a serious note, why not unite with "Fire Bettman" signs at games? It finally worked with Millen. Even though Ford Field stopped allowing "Fire Millen" signs the hockey rinks were still allowing them.

I've been doing a shot for every goal Detroit scores ever since the playoffs last season. Seems to be working.

If you really think that not watching the game on TV will help the NHL (which it won't) just watch it at a bar where it will be on anyway.

I would definitely take those odds against Detroit tonight. Then again I bet on them to repeat at the very beginning of the season when the odds were even better.

Uhh, he's talking about them coming here. Anyway, my account works over there and I just put a post up about Datsyuk. Yeah, the majority of them don't know much about hockey but that doesn't mean I can't go on there and educate people instead of just slinging mud.

I can't believe that there are Wings fans on this board saying that he played a bad game. I don't see how a rebound can happen, because he didn't play bad last night. The defense sucked it up and then Ericcson decided to obstruct instead of play defense. That is the only reason the Pens won, because they got a PP goal off Ericsson's stupid move.

Huge difference. Helm did have the puck at some point either just before or while getting stood up. You say he hadn't touched it but I don't remember one instance of that.
