I liked the camera view accept it was too high. My normal seats at the Joe are behind the net about 10 rows up, and it makes for a very different view of the game. But it is awesome to watch the flow of the game from that angle. Not only setting up on the PP, but the attacking team coming into the zone and away from you is truly cool.

Many times during last years embarrassing round 1 loss, the refs swallowed their whistles during times that would have easily been penalties if going by the way the regular season was called. IMO I think the regular season was called similar to last year, I have no stats to back this up though. Do they swallow them again???

the inconsistency is what kills me, I dont know if I can handle that in the playoffs

Bryzgalov has 27 games played and 62 goals allowed Backstrom has 41 games played and 72 goals allowed Fernandez has 44 games played and 103 goals allowed

see this is a big part of the problem with Red Wings Fans, "rightful perch atop the standings" "only thing that matters is the cup" last time I checked there were 29 other teams in the NHL, and Stanley is the hardest championship to win. lets all quit with the disappointment if we don't bring home the hardware Stanley Cup or failure is the wrong damn way to think. I for one am stoked as hell that we clinched the West. Now lets take it one game at a time. Let the excitement build when/if we win games. It's sooooooo much better (to win it all) when you don't expect it. and if you do expect it, you should be ashamed of yourself.

I also like the 7 years. Holland probably gave him pretty much what he wanted. I believe he has proven that he's worth it when he plays the way he can play. The last time the Wings made a significant playoff run, Datsyuk was surrounded by 6-8 Hall of Famers. They won the Cup with him "learning" how to play playoff hockey. He has underperformed since then because of the lack of help from some of the other players. He has performed well EVERY season. Without his regular season play, the Wings may not even had made the playoffs a couple of times. Now this contract puts him in the position of being one of the main leaders on this team. I'm sure Stevie told him that (so does the A on his jersey) Don't you think getting a long term deal gives Dats the opportunity to forget about the money and the whole contract stuff and PLAY THE WAY HE CAN PLAY???? 85-100 points per season and 3 great runs through the playoffs is well worth 6.5 mil per year. Give him a chance to earn his money. If Holland let him walk, this whole site would be up in arms. Especially if he keeps putting up better and better numbers every year. I swear some of you folks are never happy. I'm very pleased that Holland, Yzerman and company are running things and not some of you so-called GM wanna-bes.
