Personally, I hope Babs does whatever he wants. For the life of me I can't figure out why so many people compain about his line combos and decisions day after day when to me (and many pundits across the league), he is the best coach in the entire NHL. Is he unorthodoxed in his approach sometimes, sure...but what basis are you all using to assume that the unorthodox move is wrong? Maybe his "unorthodoxy" is what puts him head and shoulders above the rest of the league.

At least we can win a shootout now.

The main reason Babs moved to a single point system was due to roster limitations (lack of good offensive defensemen and lack of RH shots)....so if this were solved, say by acquiring Myers I imagine the PP could easily be tweaked to accomodate.

He has admitted to having a conservative trading approach because you need youth to survive in the cap world. So I think his approach is proving to be quite successful in the trading department as well.

Maybe Holland knows what he's doing after all!

Why not just waive Lashoff? Doesn't make any sense.

From watching youtube clips of all of Weiss's career goals, he never really scores highlight reel goals. He has a knack for the net and is good at positioning himself to get the puck...hopefully tonight is a sign that he's back in form. I'm very happy for him, would be HUGE if he could be a legit second line center and put up a 50-55 point pace.

I wish Holland would make some sort of move. If he gave Babcock even half a semblance of a team, imagine what could be accomplished. And it could start with getting Ouellet up here.

Babcock already tempted to move Cleary to top line.

Who would've thought our offensive woes would've been solved by getting Cleary in the lineup?

The biggest problem I see is that Helm isn't exactly known as a top playmaker, and he's playing with two shoot first guys in Nyquist and Franzen. As much as I hate to say it, I think Z and Dats need to be broken up.

Great goal, but how come Quincey is so good at getting all his shots blocked?

I like these lines, though the third line is going to be pretty useless.

I seem to remember a time either late in the season or the playoffs when Lewis was coaching where Yzerman disagreed with a decision Lewis had made and Yzerman made it clear that he disagreed in the middle of the game. Am I making that up or does anyone else remember it?

Good, need to even out the ridiculousness that is uneven divisions. Would rather seem them contract but we all know that will never happen.

Wings fans are over-passionate and unrealistic so not surprised to see the negative reaction here. There are 30 teams all vying for the same goal and yet if the Wings don't win a cup every 3 or 4 years then the GM is a failure? The large majority of the teams in this league would give their left nut to have Holland at the helm. Good signing, I don't agree with everything he's done, especially in recent years...but this team is positioned with a strong farm and should have a bright future.
