Wings Possible Trades... Foreseen...
EstonianWingsFan#1 replied to Osgoodsbiggestfan's topic in General
Why some of you guys think that when we need a defenceman or some player, other teams would be willing to make some silly trades. I mean Luongo for Lecace + pick/future cons. it won't happen. Lang for Bergeron + ? ... Bergeron has much bigger value than Lang, not to mention his age. I know some of you are saying that you are fans of this and this player but these trades are a dream. The truth is, the team that seriously want's some changes, they have to be ready to get less back than they give, because they desperately wanted the trade go through. Decreasing payroll is even worse situation. What I want to say is, be more realistic about trades, these trades would be nice but ain't gonna happen. Life ain't that easy. -
Some stories about Rivers was traded to Toronto last night, right now Maple Leafs GM has denied the rumor, but it might still happen being not official yet. No confirmations at all right now. http://www.spectorshockey.net/ LEAFS GM DENY TRADE TALK. TORONTO SUN: Mike Zeisberger reported a story making the rounds in Toronto yesterday claimed the Maple Leafs had acquired defenceman Jamie Rivers from the Detroit Red Wings, but Leafs GM John Ferguson Jr denied the transaction took place. Spector's Note: This supposed trade was sent in by several readers yesterday (see below). Perhaps it simply hasn't happened yet or JFJ is only in talks with the Wings regarding Rivers? Hopefully we'll find out soon enough.

Some fresh information about Rivers story.. WINGS GM DENIES LEAFS ACQUISITION RUMOUR. MLIVE.COM: Ansar Khan reported yesterday Detroit Red Wings GM Ken Holland denied a report from earlier this week out of Toronto that claimed the Maple Leafs were about to acquire defenceman Jamie Rivers from the Wings. Holland claims he's had no trade talks with anyone regarding Rivers, although Khan doesn't rule out the possibility of the blueliner being shopped by the March 9th trade deadline once Niklas Kronwall returns from injury. Spector's Note: My thanks to "Patrick" for sending this in. Rivers could end up a Maple Leaf this season but it obviously won't happen this month. So there is still a possibility, maybe after Kronwall's recovery.

Well it seems to be clear now that Ryan Malone isn't wanted anymore by the Penguins. He has been a healthy scratch for many games now and Pittsburgh is looking for a trade. Another clear thing is that Penguins are looking for some defensive help. I was thinking would there be a possibility to trade for Malone. He hasn't shined like in 03/04 but I think he needs to change a team, because his mind is on his future not hockey right now. He has 7 + 16 = 13 points in 36 games and -15. I believe he would get better if given a chance. We have had a lot of talk about changing Mowers in lineup, maybe this could be our chance and Penguins cannot be asking the price he was worth in 03/04. Malone seems as a quick and powerful addition though. What do you think, maybe we have some trade bait, but more important is to ask, should we even consider this move, what would be his potential role with the Wings? I can say I have always liked Malone. If I remember correctly, his salary was something around 1M.

When Roloson was playing in Finland during the lockout, I remember he was a totally different class in the league. He made like 35 - 40 saves most nights and stats were great.
-
His fourth hat-trick during the last 26 games of something. This guy can score, no question about that.
-
Not gonna happen! Datsyuk stays. And Grigorenko stays too.
-
When they turned their backs on Robinson, I thought right away it was a bad idea. For instance, look at Kopecky and who could have thought a year ago, that he would do like he is doing this season?
-
Oh dear, oh dear, hat-trick by MacLean. Way to go!
-
Thanks alot Hatcher, my problem is I cannot watch the games so I'm really thankful that you gave me some idea, what this guy is like. Hey, maybe he will make Red Wings roster someday if he stays solid ..

I didn't even hear that Griffins hadd aquired such a player. I was having a look at Griffins stats after the second period against Chicago Wolves and suddenly it was like Angel? Who on earth is Angel? I don't know how I missed it. Anyway he looks like a really nice player (AHL photo) who wouldn't hurt anyone ever, but how foolish it was from me, when I noticed 6'6 240lbs. Does he fight? How come, such a guys have a name Angel

What prospects will make the Wings Next year?
EstonianWingsFan#1 replied to ufcredwingfan's topic in Prospects
Grigorenko, Filppula, Hudler !!! + Full time Kronwall will be a success if no injuries occur. Bootland and Kopecky possibly too, depending on injuries. Even Quincey might have a shot on 5th or 6th defender spot, probably a depth player. Miroslav Blatak will be in North America next year and Kolasau improves quite well considering defensive department. Next year Red Wings want to give our top prospects regular time, so if Yzerman retires, we might see some trades for draft picks or younger players to free up space. I don't believe Draper would go, because his scoring decreased dramatically and he is more worth staying in our PK. Maltby is a question mark. Holmström, Cleary, Samuelsson, Lang, Chelios .. hell we might see some huge changes, but first we gotta get to playoffs and get some result to generate ideas. Red Wings have many 30+ players right now whos production and gameplay might fall quickly from now on, quick trades might pop up, rebuilding the team younger might be an option from next year. We have done rebuilding actually nicely, considering Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Williams, Kronwall, Grigorenko coming up, Filppula and Hulder pressing through. Half of the team will be changed already with capable players and the team has stayed still strong in NHL. Take a look at Blue Jackets or Wild or even Predators, whom it took many years to become a good club through rebuilding with higher draft picks, the first two haven't still done much improvements when looking at the standings every year, not to mention playoffs. Anyway these are my ideas, visions what might happen.. -
I watched his moves when Rosno Cup was played at the end of last year. Bykov made few mistakes but otherwise took many scary shots from the blueline (was overall a real threat on the blueline and I cannot recall how were his shots when he was in Detroit, but he does have a powerful shot right now and quite accurate, although his role isn't similar to Lidström, more like Fischer), made nice passes, seemed to be very very confident and coldblooded doing his job and threw his body around a little, seemed strong. Looked pretty good. I'd like him back, no question. I mean our current defensive situation cannot get much worse and we have some expendable blueliners to change for Bykov.
-
I think Grigorenko needs NHL time to get to 100% again. He will stay forever on this "85 - 90% level" in Russia.
-
Buffalo won tonight, Biron made 39 saves, 1 goal against. I'd like that trade, just that I would like to give Hudler full time chance first, not some 5 min per game to see what he can do in NHL.
-
I like Bykov. He played in Euro Hockey Tour for team Russia one game and had an assist. Check out what he's been up to lately: http://www.russianprospects.com/public/pro...hp?player_id=43 Russian players talent analysis (NHL + prospects etc): http://www.russianprospects.com/public/pro...rofile_main.php 100= Rare Talent(Gretzky, Lemieux) 90= Potential Superstar 80= 1st line Forward/Top Defenseman/Top Goalie 70= 2nd line Forward/Top 3 Defenseman 60= 3rd line Forward/Top 5 Defenseman/Backup Goalie 50= 4th line Foward/6th/7th Defenseman 40= High-end Minor league Talent(Might get a shot...) 30= Minor League Role Player 20= Low-end Minor League Talent 10= Unlikely to make it out of junior/college

Mule sounds too weird, as far as I'm concerned, let Lilja be mule even if he isn't. Franzenstein sounds way too cool. Looks like people start naming all the players after halloween and horror stuff... Count Datsyukula already named, sound like true horror, what next: Lilja vs Mowers, Jason-X (Woolley), Draper goes to Manhattan? Give Kane Hodder some skates and a hockey stick.
-
How about Lang, Lilja, Mowers and pick for Malone and Jackman, then put Malone and Jackman right in plus take Bootland/Hudler/Kopecky to Mowers place.
-
Malone scored again last night. Pittsburgh's lone goal.
-
It just hurts to see how people cannot write Filppula correclty. I wonder if his jersey has also different name on it every night. He's probably pretty pissed
-
I checked Pittsburgh - Boston game stats just a moments ago and if I'm not mistaken, Malone played on the same line with Crosby and Palffy. That makes me wonder, is Malone unwanted at all? Pretty much 180 degrees the other way.
-
Just calm down guys, it's way too early. Just like our francise players Zetterberg and Datsyuk were drafted in the late rounds, no-one even talked about them, just let him play and we will see because 2005 draft is over. Helm was picked in the 5th round 2005, right now he is 4th in WHL scoring on a same level that Setoguchi who was taken in the 1st by San Jose. Some guys improve their play quicker than the others. I'm not saying I think it was our best 2nd round choice, but it's done and all we can do is to wait and see.
-
Oh sorry my mistake, funny but somehow I remembered that Helm was born in 1986 not 87. Thanks for the correction. Even better.
-
Exactly Barnes, seems like here are some people afterall who think Malone would be great pickup for the Wings. And yeah, Lang is pretty much all that has some decent trade value right now, at least trade value to get Malone. And wouldn't Pens like to see Robby there once again? Sure they would.
-
It's not only that "if he was so good, why are the Pens trying to dump him". The thing is Penguins found a lineup which can do better than 7-1 loss every game. They are even notching some wins every now and then and they don't want to break it. Now Malone is pissed, because he wants to play, the Pens wouldn't want to break the lineup and there we go. Trade the unsatisfied. After all, Malone isn't the worst trade bait and defence need to be fixed there. I still won't change my mind about Malone. He will be great, you'll see, just not under Super Mario. About our defence - we have Kronwall coming up and Quincey, we will have some depth in Blatak, who will be signed for the next year. Kindl will improve and also knock on the door soon, so we have some nice prospects. When Chelios retires, we probably don't even need to look at UFA market, because one of the fresh breads will be baked for that time and most probably our rookies will be pushed into the lineup. Well it is all about personal opinions, thats the point. Express yourself and we find some new angles in this idea.
