Wow once in a lifetime snipe for Ben Eager.

I honestly though Carcillo baited Kopy into that penalty pretty well. Like I said, I think Carcillo's rep bought him a penalty there.
-
Haha Carcillo's reputation just bought him a penalty there.
-
Watching Carcillo spout off is so much fun. He just looks hilarious with his dirty stache and missing teeth. I really wish Kopy and him would have thrown down there. Probably would have ended up rather funny.

If the Flyers win the cup, everyone will need to play a drinking game and take a shot every time you hear "team" and destiny" in the same sentence.

Bettman may know stuff about business, but his worst business decision by far was not taking the 3 year tv deal from ESPN coming out of the lockout. The amount of money made compared to the ESPN offer is tiny compared to the amount of coverage ESPN would have offered them.

I usually lean on tissue and lotion to pass the time.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't Grabovski play a year in Montreal and him and the Kostitsyn brothers had some run-ins, among others. If this is the case, and they are already getting sick of him in Toronto, it sounds like Grabovski will have a short life in the NHL.

I have a solid feeling that Stevie was their guy (obviously) but he originally turned it down until they came back and gave him fat cash. I think this is a good thing for both Stevie and the Wings. The organization can see if Stevie will be a successful GM and if he is, hopefully he comes back when Kenny is gone (although it sounds like Nill will have to come and go by that time).

I don't hate Hossa because he went to the Hawks after he played for us, I hate him for another reason. I hate the Blackhawks and almost everyone who plays for them (I kind of like Toews). Therefore, I hate Hossa.

I'm still under the belief that we had to force him into a position he wasn't ready for (due to all our injuries). I don't think he was able to perform under pressure. When he went to Philly, there was no pressure on him, and he's performing. It's not unheard of that a guy underachieves for one team but shows his potential for another.

Wasn't he a free agent last season? I feel like he's way overpaid for his 22 points.
-
While I agree with you to a certain extent, Laraque played very little in his time with Montreal. I think Lapierre could defend himself.
-
Just out of curiosity, anyone know if Max Lapierre is a free agent? I love that guy. He can score and he's a great agitator.

I don't know if anyone saw sportscenter but Barry Melrose ripped Crosby. Said it was the worst game he's ever seen him play and he compared it to LeBron giving up and becoming invisible in game 5 of that series. While I enjoyed it, I thought it was a little over the top.
-
Don't worry, I agree with you. I was just pointing out that the media was harping on Ovie because of those reasons. And like Carman said, most of Washington's choke job lies in the hands of Boudreau. And I likewise wish the media would grow some balls and say something negative about Crosby. They'll find a way to sugarcoat it.
-
I get what you are saying but I think the reason Ovie took so much blame was because he wasn't passing the puck and he became so predictable. I think more of the criticisms were against his overall game and his inability to adapt to what the Habs were doing defensively. Edit: for the record, I do agree with you. However, we won't hear about how Crosby was invisible, as was Malkin. However, a lot of credit needs to go to the Habs defense, which we are all seeing is vastly underrated.

Go habs go! My dad is a diehard Habs fan, can't wait to talk with him tonight

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

I do believe you forgot to add "we tank correctly to get 3 straight top picks". Sit there and act like you wouldn't be rooting for whoever was playing the Wings if the roles were reversed. It's called a rivalry. Do you think we sat here and rooted for the Avs back in the late 90's/early 2000's?

While I don't think we should go after Price because I love what Jimmy did this year, I still think Price could be a great goalie in a different situation. They acted like he was the next Patrick Roy or Ken Dryden and he clearly wasn't ready. Poor management I think. Remember when they dumped Huet to try and ride Price in the playoffs? If I'm not mistaken they were a 2 seed that year (again I may be mistaken). There was an interesting piece in espn the magazine about Price and how being Montreal's goalie is the toughest thing in sports. Judging from the article he just wasn't mature enough to play when they wanted him too, especially with the savior tag they essentially gave him.

I feel like Bert's big games are few and far between. Don't get me wrong though, for the points he puts up at 1.5 mil he's a bargain. I just get so pissed at his lazy play which occurs more frequently than his big games. I'm rather indifferent to him coming back or not.

Honestly, Gill has looked a lot better than I thought he'd ever look. And as for Crosby outworking him , look at Crosby's numbers. I'd say he's done a great job at containing him.
-
Must have been the odd man out to report on the Buckeyes daily meal and he's taking it out on the Wings.
-
I wouldn't really call it pinching, he brought the puck up into the zone and stayed with the rush. I mean he could have peeled back but at the same time Willy haaaaaaaaas to hit the net.
