While I would like to see more exposure to either teams and don't like the idea of Pitt in another WC, I know I would still watch a Caps v. Pens matchup. Those who are saying they wouldn't... bulls***.

I don't think this is a shot at Ozzie at all. I have to agree with Babs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I bet shots against are up this season, our goals for are down (maybe not so much as of late), and we've had a ton of injuries. Yet this team could still finish with 100 points and as high as the 5 slot. As far as regular season goaltending goes, this has been the best in a while. We'll see how he does come playoff time.

Yeah watching NHL on the fly last night, they were saying that keeping these types of hits in the game makes sense. I mean you gotta keep your head up. Booth should have learned that by now, granted the first one was a blindside hit but still. Apparently on the Filppula goal last night, Raffi got blindsided by Boyes right after he dumped the puck in. They used this as an example when I was watching this morning.

From what I understand from the new rule, this is a legal hit. They are taking out blindside hits to the head.

All depends on what teams behind us do. Say we clinch a playoff spot with like 96 or 97 pts with a couple games left, we are for sure going to rest people.

I love Fil, but let's be honest. One of his goals last night was flukey and the other was an empty netter. 6 points in 3 games is still real nice though.

No, after I edited it once I realized I had left out the shutouts. I had completely forgotten about that. I also then realized a ton of other people had commented on his amount of shutouts so I figured I could leave it out haha. Here's to hoping Jimmy records 9 consecutive shutouts to end the season!

I mean it's entirely possible with the way this team has been playing for Jimmy to get 35 or more wins. I just don't understand how they couldn't give him rookie of the year after winning (possibly) 35+ games. Edit: Mason won 33 games last year with a .916 save % and a 2.29 GAA, for comparison.

Haha funny, but I hate you. Some guy did a gator chomp like a week after the national title game back in 2007 during some on-ice intermission stuff. Immediately like 5 plastic bottles flew on the ice in his direction.

I guess the thing to keep in mind is that they change power rankings from week to week. So they really aren't a measure of the best teams in the league, rather best teams at the moment (and I would assume their overall record is taken into account somewhat.)

Well somehow the Wings dropped from 8th to 9th in TSN's rankings and they even highlighted the wings going 5-0-1 yet somehow knocked em down a spot. Again, it's power rankings so it holds about a -50 on the meaningful scale.

I can only make fun of this guy because he's wearing a Penguins jersey (now I'll wait for Carman's accusations of jealously). When I was younger I wore a Wings jersey to a Habs Sabres game. We ended up getting picked out of the crowd for some promotion and put on the big screen and I was booed by 20,000 people. Cool experience, but I learned my lesson.

I'm about 99.999% positive that Jimmy wouldn't be suspended for his face wash. Guaranteed that was just some nonsense started by some fool. I mean honestly, you'd have to start suspending guys any time there is a face wash after the whistle. Think about it.
