I have a friend who routinely goes to the games there and at one point they were having a promotion that if you purchased tickets to a game and the yotes won, you received a free ticket to another game. Just to fill the seats! And this was while they were hovering around that 4-5 slot, as they have been all season.

From what I understood, Huds knew he was going to win more in arbitration than the Wings could afford. He didn't want to play for another team in the NHL so he went to the KHL so that the Wings would still have his rights and he could return after this season when everyone knew we would have more cap room. So really, he wanted to play so badly for the Wings that he went to the KHL so that he wouldn't have to go to another NHL team. This could be wrong, but this is what I understood the situation to be. Also, he may decide now he wants to stay over there because the hookers, I mean money is so good.

Definitely a hit with his shoulder I think. The problem was it looked like he had his head lined up the whole time. How hits to the head like this haven't been made illegal ceases to amaze me.

I'll never understand this. Living in Columbia, SC there is a channel for the Thrashers (Sports South) and for the Canes (Fox Sports Carolinas). Neither channel is showing the game today, instead they both are showing the clemson wake forest game. Much like when the Wings played the Canes and instead of showing the game they showed a college women's bball game. I understand hockey isn't big in the South, but this just shows how ridiculous it is that they have teams down here.

The hardest part for Holland is convincing Atlanta that Lebda is worth trading for. Keep in mind Atlanta is also only a point out of a playoff spot.

From what I've understood, Afinogenov's cap hit would only be around $175,000. So as long as Lebda+someone else's cap hit is equal or greater, we would be fine.

I think he was saying you disappeared for a while then came back. Read the post first. There's a difference between passionate and unrealistically crazy. Just because Holland made a minor league deal doesn't mean he's not working on trading a Lebda or Meech.

I don't know if anyone saw it last night or not, but the Hawks had a goal by Eager that was disallowed due to incidental contact. It was just as bad (or even worse) as our goal disallowed Monday.

And if Holland does something to shake things up and it comes back to bite us in the ass for several years, then everyone will be calling for his head.

It won't change until it's back on ESPN. I was livid when I found out direct TV doesn't carry versus anymore and haven't since september. Luckily I have NHL network but still. It sounds like Comcast treats everyone like s*** when their contract with versus comes up. Until it's off that garbage, it won't increase in popularity at all.

I had no problem with the officiating. Luongo did get some quick whistles on occasion, but it never affected the outcome. I would have been pissed had their been a Hossa-like incident from last year's playoffs.
