I'm in no way jealous of Crosby. I perfectly happy with the life I live. I have a stable job, a wife, and a house. Would I like to be in his shoes? Sure I would, but I'm not jealous of him in any way. I respect Crosby's game but I still hate the hell out of him, mostly because I have him shoved down my throat constantly. Realistically, my hate should be directed at the media, but it's them showing me his face. And I hate him because he plays for the penguins and I hate them for obvious reasons.

I like the idea of a penalty shot being a bonus, but I'd also be all for giving the option between a pp or a penalty.

I mean sports are changing. If the NHL teams don't change, the league will be left even further behind the other major sports than they are now. A couple of digital ads for a few more bucks doesn't bother me.

People need to realize that while Lids is probably going to give a hometown discount, I'll be really surprised if he takes under 4.5 mil. I think he'll still get 5 mil for a season. Bert isn't going to sign for less than 1.5 mil as his season this year is just as good as the one he had before he came here, if not better. Luckily his production has tailed off so he won't be wanting 2 mil or more. Quit dreaming about Kovy too.

It's unrealistic to expect Lilja to be the defenseman he was before he got hurt. Yeah we have to give up some guys to put him back on the team, but I'd rather give up guys than have the possibility of losing Lilja. While we'd all love to be in the playoffs this year, management also has to make moves that is going to make us competitive next year and I think this is one of those moves.

As said above, they will go as far as their goaltending carries them. Living in South Carolina, I am blessed with Atlanta Thrashers coverage. I watched most of the game last night to see what they had to say about the trade, and there were long stretches where the Thrashers outplayed the Caps. I believe the Caps gave up like 46 shots last night. As long as their goaltending stays hot, I see them taking the Cup or at least getting there. Also, during the first intermission they talked with a scout who said they are thrilled they got Cormier because he's a great player with a bit of a "nasty side". They did manage to sneak in a slight mention of his suspension, but not length or what it was for. Not that Thrashers fans care anyways.

Sorry but that gets called a hand pass if the puck goes anywhere else. edit: I think his hand was off the stick with the intention of playing the puck in some fashion with his hand. We can speculate, but really the only reason he would have to play the puck with his hand there is to deflect it.
