Lots of cheap shots tonight. Kunitz will always be a dirty duck and both Cindy and Malkin lost their composure early. Hopefully we can jump all over them early in game 6 and see if they can stay composed then.

When I was up in Detroit during game 4 of the conference finals, they don't even have the big screen outside of Hockeytown Cafe anymore. All it is now is a picture of Hank.

If the Wings take game 5 I would fully expect them to win it. They have 2 days off between both game 6 and game 7 and I would think that would benefit the Wings.

Dumb thread, this is similar to Pens fans saying Dats makes the Wings worse because he only has 7 points.

Crosby scares me, but I think Malkin scares me the most. Having him on the point on the PP scares me every time he touches the puck.

this seems to be a common theme among fans of teams who have a relatively newer fanbase. I'm sure the Pens have fans who have been around for a while, but over the last 2 years I've seen tons of em come out of the woodwork, just among my group of friends. They just make fun of things unrelated to hockey because they don't actually know anything about hockey.

I've been to Mellon, and it sucks (I went in 2002 and it was dead empty, imagine that). It'll be nice for them to get out of there and into a new stadium.

I would really like to see some video evidence of the linesman telling eaton to get off the ice. If this is true, I wonder what sort of action Bettman would take against the Linesman, if any.

I'm not sure why you are posting the rule book. I really don't think anyone is going to read that. This thread is dumb, maybe if we hadn't sat back during a tie game in the third there would have been no penalty and maybe we win. Oh well, I think that we will come back with a much more spirited effort in game 4.

Detroit was the better team for the majority of the game. Seemed like we sat back in the third while it was tied and I'm not sure why. The thing that bugs me the most is the refs had been letting play go for the first 2 games. Then they start calling the touchy stuff all of a sudden. I still can't fathom how Hal "Derrian Hatcher Jr." Gill doesn't get called for interference ever. He does the same thing all the time that Big E got called for. I guess wanting any semblance of consistency is too much to ask for.

Teams create their own luck. Hustle and hard work is going to create opportunities. For example, Crosby hustled to get a second shot but Hank hustled just as hard to make sure it didn't have a chance to go in.

I anticipated not having Dats. Even though he hasn't produced the big numbers, his backchecking and defense are phenomenal and he commands 2 players watching him with the puck. Since we have lids and big E back, I believe we will be okay.

I think Fleury is going to be a huge factor in this series, probably the biggest factor for the Pens. He's been incredibly inconsistent, playing below average some games, and huge others. If he gives up 3 or more goals to the Wings (ie game 2 against Canes) the Pens can't win. Also, I wish Pens fans would stop considering Hossa a traitor. 30 games with the team does not mean he needs to remain loyal to them. He was a rental player. If he had gone somewhere else than the Wings, would he be a traitor? Probably not, the fact that they beat the Penguins last year made it harder to deal with.

I was there for game 4 in 02 against Carolina. Absolute blast! It upsets me they are doing it less and less every year.

I was very critical of Ozzie during the regular season at points, but as far as I can remember I don't think I doubted him. Once he told the media "Don't you worry about me, I'll be ready" I was 100% confident in him. Being at game 7 against Anaheim was awesome chanting OZZIE OZZIE OZZIE during the handshakes. I love that man.

I only buy stuff when the Wings win the Cup, enough said.

I always get grief from my fiance. She bought me a franzen jersey for a college graduation gift last year and I was only a tiny bit disappointed because I wanted Zetts. They would move it up because the NBA finals would start sometime around the 5th as well. Why both trying to compete with that and get good ratings for at least games 1 and 2. I honestly don't care when they start, I just want to see us beat the Hawks wednesday night.
