Like someone said earlier, NHL.com is showing the games for free too. Just have to sign up for an account (basic stuff, no credit card info or anything).

That makes it slightly better, but I'd still rather be watching it on my big screen instead of on my 15" laptop monitor.

Well courtesy of that fantastic TV deal with NBC, they aren't even offering the regional coverage on Center Ice. I purchase Center Ice because I want to watch Wings games because I'm outside of the regional market, as are a s*** ton of Wings fans. Thanks for defeating the whole purpose of why I pay $160 a season. According to NBC here in Columbia, we get Pittsburgh @ Philly at 12:30, then Pittsburgh @ Chicago at 3:00. That's a tough schedule for the Pens today.

I think it's creepy but kinda sweet at the same time.

And Lebrun and Burnside have a debate on espn today about Boston being the only realistic destination for Brad Richards. Something tells me that won't happen unless Boston is shipping ALOT to Dallas or to Toronto in a possible Kaberle deal.

You could argue the 2008 team was the most dominant in the playoffs. Had they swept the Stars like they should have and not lost game 5 in the finals in triple OT, then there wouldn't even be an argument. They would have gone 16-3 which would have included a 14-1 run after being tied 2-2 in the first round. That would have been ridiculous.

I will have to respectfully disagree. If there are 3 things I remember about that 2002 playoff run it was 3) The celebration after Shanny's empty netter, 2) Lids goal from center ice in game 3 against the Nucks, backs against the wall, and 1) Stevie Y playing balls out on one knee. That was such an incredible performance to watch him lead that team, put up 23 points, and you had no idea if he was going to play until after warm ups. TO the question at hand, I voted 1997, pretty much because that team holds a special place in my sports memories. It's really hard to say which team was better because they were both so good and also played different styles of hockey.

I'm thinking about buying a Vladi throwback jersey from dhgate for $50. I know alot of people don't like ordering from there but I haven't received a bad jersey yet.

Personally, I think Kenny doesn't hold anything against Snow for claiming Nabakov (I'm assuming that's what you were implying). I mean, there was a reeeeeal good chance he was going to get claimed, and I'm glad it was by the Isles and not a western conference playoff fringe team.

Kinda mad I missed it. My only complaint was Marchand's very late hit after the whistle (on an icing call), which is what started the first line brawl. I didn't like that at all. One of those plays where the Habs player was lucky Marchand essentially missed him, because he would have been hurt if Marchand had made solid contact.

Still not enough.

After the game, Cooke said, "It used to be you were responsible for yourself if you turned, but that’s not the way anymore,” Cooke said. “That call’s been called on us four or five times this year. It’s the same thing. He turns and looks and sees me coming. The other defenseman is slowing me down, so I’m not skating full speed at him.” This is just bulls*** on so many levels. Tyutin was turned with his back to the play the whole god damn time, except for the split second he turned his head to see if a forechecker was on him. It wasn't like he was facing cooke head on then turned. He played the puck and expected Cooke to continue on his forecheck, not blast him from behind. What does Cooke want Tyutin to do? "Oh here comes a guy to blast me, I'll just turn and face him so I can get my chest drilled and my back flattened against the boards." Cooke is Grade A s***.

I knew Cooke was a repeat offender, but jesus, that montage in the Cherry video is ridiculous. Cooke has no business being on the ice. What a disgrace to the league.

Is it wrong of me to admit that's my ringtone?

Read this morning on twitter that they think it's just a charley horse, but he'll be evaluated further. Guess we'll see.

He just sounds frustrated, that's all. Did Mason and Rinne have great games? Sure, but the Wings also played uninspired and crappy.

I'm waiting for February to come and go, with no moves. LGW will be epic.

We're toast. Kiss that consecutive playoff run good-bye. Trade Dats

We're gonna miss the playoffs.

I'm actually enjoying this game, somewhat. The Network showed the All-Star games from 06-09 this week and I glanced at them for a minute. It was terrible. The defensemen did absolutely nothing. Like literally stood around waving their sticks and there was really no pace whatsoever. There seems to be some actual pace to this game, although slower than normal still.

I swear in the video I saw on NHL on the Fly it said the Maple Leaf had the power of mass manipulation. Someone please correct me if I read it wrong, but that s*** is funny.

Ericsson has been horribly disappointing.
-
Yep I noticed that too. And it was one of those black and white penalties, over the glass delay of game.

Come on, you know better. That mahimahi dude will be the first to post on the core thread, especially since he hasn't graced us with his presence for a week or so.
