DAMMIT I didn't know they took all the NHL games off permanently. Wednesday night it wasn't working for most of the games listed so I thought maybe whoever runs the site was just taking games down for the night. That sucks!

How can you say that was definitely dirty? It clearly wasn't dirty in the eyes of the ref or else he gets 5 for that. Thornton saw him coming then turned his back and Cleary appeared to let up which was the reason he only received 2 minutes.

I feel like with San Jose's history of choking in the playoffs as of late, they need home ice more than the Wings do. That being said, I would still love to see the Wings have home ice.

I wish Ovie and Crosby would drop em. I bet Ovie would pound his face into the ice. Also, my buddy who just started watching hockey during the playoffs last year but mostly this season has even pointed out how he thinks Crosby is a whiny ***** and the refs need to stop looking out for him. Probably partially my influence.

After all this guy has been through this season and the little break he was essentially forced to take by management, he comes out and gets a goal and an assist in the first 6 minutes and the fans are absolutely loving it. Good to see.

What a bum, in watching a sharks game recently I learned that alot of sharks fans have no respect for him.

I think his willingness to drop the gloves last night shows he wants to be on this team for a long time, or at least I hope. Can you tell he didn't plan on fighting last night, or probably any night for that matter.

I love how Hossa stood up for himself. I think it's a sign of things to come. And by that I mean Hossa re-signing with the Wings, I think he showed he wants to stay with the squad.

I would hate to see Huds go as well but he strikes me as another Martin Lapointe. Not so much in playing style but moreso that he's a system player and I don't see him being as successful somewhere else. If he does decide to leave, I hope he succeeds just as long as it's not against the Wings.

Talk to any sports fan that was turned off by the lockout and doesn't watch much hockey anymore. They absolutely love fights, or at least the several people I've talked about hockey with do. Taking fighting out of hockey is dumb, and will result in a net loss of viewers, not an increase.

Pierre was serious, he just said he wants 4 minute penalties for going after superstars. What a joke Pierre take your damn diapers off.

I don't know Pierre seemed pretty staunch in his stance against fighting although his idea to get rid of head shots because someone is going to die seemed pretty made up.

My favorite was when Milbury was like you're just another guy who wants to pansify hockey.

There are pros and cons to the salary cap and this is obviously a large con. However, the cap has done was it was supposed to do which was provide parity within the NHL and it has also shown how good a GM Kenny is since salary caps prevent against having dynasties yet the Wings have come as close as possible to a dynasty. In the west you can only eliminate 2 teams realistically from the playoff hunt (st. louis and LA) although st louis is in last and only 10 points back of 8th. So it's definitely distributed the talent among the NHL teams, I mean how fun would it be if the Wings had all the stars and won the cup every year (I know, it'd be great)?

whatever, as nice as individual accolades are, I'm sure Lids would take the cup over a million norris trophies any day of the week. Chara can have every award in the book and as long as the Wings have the cup at the end of the playoffs, I won't care a bit.

Not sure if anyone has asked about this yet, but I was at the Winter Classic and I would love to find a copy/download of the broadcast. Anyone know where I might be able to find one OR did anyone make a copy and would be interested in making another to send to me that I would pay for.

I'm not from Detroit but both my parents were born and raised in Detroit and I'm a huge fall of all things Detroit. I can't stand when I hear my ******* friends from Cleveland say "we should just let Detroit go down the s***ter, no one cares about them anyway". Guess what Cleveland, look at Detroit and act like that couldn't be Cleveland eventually. People all over need to realize that if s*** in this country doesn't get turned around, more and more major cities are slowly going to go down the s***ter and their cities will be the brunt of jokes.

I was 11 rows up in the left field bleachers and my seats were alright but I'm not complaining it was fantastic just being there. My view was somewhat obsructed by the media towers but if the puck was deep in the zone I was able to look up on the screens they had temporarily put up on the foul poles. I would post some pics but they are pretty similar to those already posted.
