in 2002 i think federov was on the ice as well as lidstrom (and chelli as Barrie mentioned), but thats with like 30 seconds left in the game after that i got nothin haha

No thanks, already have two big boys with the names of Holmstrom and Franzen that are tons better than Bert plus they don't surprise people with dirty goonish plays.

I think the biggest challenge is overcoming themselves. Aside from 1998, they've had poor seasons following a cup win (1999, 2003). I guess that's only 2 seasons but still, I don't think anyone can beat this team especially since they will have the large majority of everyone back again. Goaltending might also be a challenge (sorry ozzie, i still love you).

I'll take Downey over Laraque any day. Laraque is a straight goon and sometimes it seems like he just goes on the ice looking to start a fight regardless. Even though Downey doesn't see much ice time, when he does he doesn't stop skating and just flies around the ice not to mention he forechecks real hard. Booo on Laraque

I'm sure someone has already posted looking for this hat but I just got back home from school and I spent all morning driving all over NW ohio looking for this hat and I can't find it anywhere. I went on lids.com to order it and they don't even have it anymore for some reason. Anyone know where I might be able to find one in the SE Michigan area or a little south of Detroit?

The only thing that bothers me about all the blabbing about Crosby is the fact that he's not the only great young player in the NHL. The NHL would benefit by promoting more than just him. They are the worst at star promotion compared to the MLB, NFL and NBA. It's going to take more than just Crosby to get this league back on the map with casual sports fans and those are the people they need to get in touch with. Don't get me wrong though, Cindy is still a great player.

The Wings have closed out every series on the road during the playoff run this year. I have the confidence they can do it again. Pittsburgh used so much energy last night trying to stay in that game, that whole team looked tired. They'll probably have to a survive an early game rush by the Penguins but after that I think they will be able to control the game.

Hank's goal reminded me of a video game goal. Just plain unreal, even my friends who aren't hockey fans but play hockey video games said it was ridiculous.

I entirely agree that he should be fined if they are going to fine Al. As for the NHL I don't understand the whole "octopi matter" on the ice. I'm guessing either Nashville or Colorado complained and look how that's worked out.

Yeah I agree take the C away from Lidstrom and give it to...... oh right there's no one else on the team more deserving of the C than Lids. Get outta here, I feel like I'm back in 2007 when the Flames tied up the series 2-2 after being down 2-0 and everyone felt the need to jump ship. Come find me when the Wings are out of it, I can't stand these message boards anymore.

I'm happy, we needed a d-man real bad. I mean yeah unlucky that our 4 top d-men are all hurt at the same time, but what if one of them happens to go down again before the playoffs?
