1/22 GDT: Blackhawks 4 at Red Wings 1

"...back when the Red Wings were the Cougars. No comment Larry." I got a chuckle out of that.

    Ah thanks, my bad.

I didn't think they could waive him because of the NMC.

anyone hear anything about this? It's all rumors, and I didn't check to see if it has already been posted somewhere else on here. http://thebiglead.com/index.php/2011/01/22/maple-leaf-mike-komisarek-punched-a-woman/

So in the last 4 periods against the Hawks, they've had one penalty called on them: delay of game for putting the puck over the glass. Might go grab my tinfoil hat.

A little off topic, but I had to listen to the Blues broadcast the other night. Since when has Panger said "holy jumpin"? I always thought that was Mickey's thing. Unless I'm making a dumb mistake.
  7. Right but there's no way he even makes close to that much next season. NHL GM's made him aware that he wasn't worth what he thought he was. I really don't know what he'll try to get this offseason, but I can't imagine it'd be anything more than 2 mil given what went on this season.
  8. I think the biggest favor, if there was one intended at all, was getting Nabokov back in the NHL. I mean he will be a free agent this summer.
  9. Basically I was saying I disagree with your statement.
  10. Flip the situation. If we had been the team to claim him, I doubt you'd have the same view.
  11. Man, people are taking this harder than I thought they would. It makes all the sense in the world for the Isles to claim him. What was the contract pro-rated at, like $250k? They hardly have a healthy goalie right now. If anything some fans on Long Island might find it worthwhile to go to a game right now. Stop the garbage that Wong was just out to screw us. What benefit does he have to screw the Wings? I'm over it. On top of it, he's going to an eastern conference team. What if he had gone to a playoff contender in the West?
  12. Sure but they're two different people. Either way, Nabby turns into a cheap insurance policy, like someone already said.
  13. I see #1 as being the biggest reason for this move and #2 just being an indirect possibility. I can't imagine, given Ozzie's age, that 6-8 weeks off after surgery is going to be easy to come back from and get in playing shape again.
  14. There has to be something to that NMC that pertains to after the waiver claim. Like you can't trade him or put him on waivers after you have claimed him, in the same fashion a NMC would work if you had signed him in the offseason. That makes the most sense to me.
  15. Just got a text from ESPN with the same info that Dreger is reporting. Silly Floppa.
  16. haha no worries. I think there was the same confusion yesterday.
  17. That'd be nuts. Something tells me he wouldn't report.
  18. But there are 30 teams in the NHL. So Philly and Vancouver don't get a chance to claim him? That doesn't make any sense to me. Like I said if NJ had signed him, then he wouldn't have ever gone on waivers?
  19. Actually, from my understanding, not fixed. It was right the first time around. The Wings placed him on waivers, so we would immediately fall to the back of the pack. Teams that currently have more points than us would still have a chance to claim him. So if New Jersey had been the one to sign him, it's not like he wouldn't go on waivers. He would have still been available to everyone.
  20. That was my thought too. Well not BS, just misinterpretation.
  21. So team X decides to claim him. Nabby says piss off and becomes a free agent again. Wings sign him to the same deal and we go through the waiver wire rodeo again. Meanwhile, his agent is taking names of the teams that claim him and in the long run plans to screw them over with another FA down the line. Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of that. It sounds plausible, but I reallyyyyyyy don't want to get my hopes up.
  22. The only deal I want with Toronto involves us getting Lebda back.
  23. Um interesting, but that would be a bad contract to strap the team with. I figure you are just joking though.

    Wings Negotiating w/ Nabokov

What does this mean for Osgood? I think it may give some validity to the reports swirling around that he's done for the season.
