2 MAJORly retarded calls that need to be looked at in the off-season: 1. 4 minutes for high-stick with blood. Obviously this had no bearing tonight but i've always thought this to be the dumbest thing in the nhl in terms of penalties. 2. coincidental calls for a "penalty" and a matching minor for diving. make up your goddamn mind; is it a penalty or not.

Have to call myself out on this one somewhat. I'm seeing a TON of pens fans bitching about the game being "boring" or that Osgood sucks but is somehow artificially being made to look like the best goalie ever, etc. I can remember thinking/saying the exact same stuff back when we were swept by NJ in the finals and pretty much any time we've lost to the Ducks; playoffs or regular season. It's amazing how winning or losing changes your view of what's an exciting game or not. Had the pens won it in the 3rd the exact same game would now be talked about as being the most exciting game in the history of their franchise.

i usually get them from nhl.tv. There's a few Wings ones there from tonight but nothing from the pens yet. I'm assuming that they are editing out the whining that's over the edge that makes the pens look like total ******* out and that means that they have A LOT of editing to do before they can post the videos....

After the first goal I said out loud "great, now we'll have to watch a Crosby montage between periods." Anyone who watched the game on NBC knows what they showed between periods. The big question on my mind right now is will the Avalanche retire his number before their season opener next year or will they wait a little longer?

Honestly I don't think he was diving at all. Malkin looks like a guy that's totally gassed and has no legs right now. On their first power play there was a play with a VERY slow moving puck heading out of the zone on the left point. Malkin was like 6-8 feet from it and looked like he wasn't even trying to keep the puck in the zone. For me that play (and a number of others throughout the game) exposed a guy with no energy, no heart or both. I told my wife last night that anyone in management for Washington watching the game must have felt awesome about their choice of Ovechkin over Malkin in the draft.
