MAYBE one could argue that Hudler deserves to play in the playoffs over Samuelson, but you cant say he deserves more minutes...some people seem to think that Babcock doesnt like him because "he doesnt get enough minutes"... HES A ROOKIE, and a one dimentional one at that...Look at guys like Perry, Radulov, Latendresse, Brule.. they are averaging around the same minutes and most of them are on significantly weaker teams. They all bring more than Hudler, so stop complaining about Babcock disliking Hudler...

Brilliant response. It so happens I grew up with McGrath and I want to see him do well. It is irrelevant to anything I have to say you narrow minded prick. Just because I don’t jump on a players bandwagon every time he plays a few good games doesn’t mean I don’t know what makes a good player. But I do know that the playoffs is going to be faster and more physical, and Hudler isn’t exactly the guy I want to be giving more minutes to, or even a roster spot for that matter.

Dan Cleary-Who cares if he's not as hot as he was. You dont scartch a guy who plays a checking roll and still puts up 36points. Filppula-Very well rounded, has good speed and can play 2 way hockey.. the type of player you need in the playoffs.. he's in. Jiri Hudler-Small, slow and inexperienced. His recent hot streak doesnt justify a playoff roster position IMO. Kirk Maltby- Don't even know why he is on the list so I will not respond. Sam- I guess one could make a case to scartch Samuelson, but he has proven he can put decent points on a second line pairing and I wouldnt take him out of the lineup for Hudler...

Why does everyone complain that he doesnt get enough ice time?? he's a rookie for christ sake, and will never develop into a dominant scorer.. Even if he was averaging 15 minutes per game, you could only put him at around 30 points with guys like Calder, Draper and Franzen all who bring more to the game..

Calder came here for Jason Williams and had the worst plus/minus in the leauge. Calder has played good hockey for 10 games now you think he can land a guy like Stastny?? keep dreaming pal...

Why are you idiots criticizing Tootoo for wearing a visor?.. this isnt the 80's anymore.. he's the same type player as Maltby (who also wears a visor) but better and what he does and can scrap.. i'm sorry to tell all of you homers, but Tootoo would drop Bootland in a second...

Hollweg made racial remarks towards Simon and coach Ted Nolan previously in the game.. the hit put Simon over the edge. What Simon did was obviously wrong and inexcusable, but guys like Hollweg and Avery have it coming to them when they run around and piss people off and not drop the gloves....

A lot of speculation that Hudler would be traded on deadline day. Well, it didnt happen unfortunately. Now the question is, what role is he supposed to play on this team in the future? We're set at the centre position for many years to come with Z, Dats (once he signs of course), Filppula, and probably Grigorenko as well. Hudler cant play a checking line role either.. so what do we do with him??? He's a very talented player, but I can only see him being a top 2 line player on a weak team. It would have been nice if Kenny could have got a pick or something for him, but then again who knows how much trade value he could have possibly had....Thoughts?

Why is it unfortuante?? because he probably could have landed us a pick to replace the one we lost in the Bertuzzi deal.. Hudler is pure offense, and if you want to fit in to this system you have to be able to play 2 way hockey. Kopecky has a role to play on this team in the future, he has tremendous skating ability and is a physical guy..so no he will not be gone in the summer...

I think Bert could really bring out the best in Filppula.. I would try it out and see what happens.. if not then Lang with Bert Datsyuk-Z-Homer Bert-Filppula-Sam Calder-Lang-Cleary Franzen-Draper-Maltby

Yea.. Emery likes to scrap.. he's from my hometown.. he's always scraping in local bars.. a friend of mine (a bouncer) beat the s*** out of him last summer... the same guy also got in a scrap with Adam Mair a couple years ago..
