Beer. NO light beer. Try some craft-brew stuff when $ isn't an issue. Also, beef jerky. NO fat-free BS. BTW- Sundin > J Willy.
-
I was thinking a shade less than that, but I'm not arguing fractions of a million. Basicly I think get it over with PLEASE.
-
He's better than Jason f-ing Williams. And he should retire a wing. 20 goals isn't out of reach even at his age. I do NOT think he will play here again tho as long as he still wants to stay out east. And I don't blame him. Beyond that, bring him.
-
THANK YOU GAWD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! WHY!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
-
AGAIN! NO HITLER WITH MY HOCKEY DISCUSSION!!! and also, Sundin to the wings AGAIN? again, for less than 1.5m and less than 2yrs, bring em do SOMETHING KENNY THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!
-
Yeah those two and take your pick for you're third, that will still be a better goalie than most ppl's backup and some starters. bring it! I'd love to see that style of play embarrass a few teams!
-
He's came anywhere near a Vezina trophy once. That's why he's iffy with me. He may, he may not, but not a first-year guy. He and Cujo I think are a lot alike, except Osgood wins in the playoffs and that's his biggest plus.
-
For a low price (about 2mil) I'd definitely be for it.
-
Basicly how I feel about it. I can't wait until this guy is gone. Totally deserves to be locked in a room with Pronger. While wearing a Holmstrom jersey. No pads tho.
-
No actually you're making some sense to me here. I really think he needs 1-2 more trophies of some decent level of respectability and he's in. Maybe another all-star appearance or two wouldn't hurt. And the thing is, I was watching NHL networks 'classic series' last night and they were featuring the '96 western conf. finals- he's a MUCH better goalie now than he was then. And a much better goalie than the commercials (AGAIN this year..) for the Pens victory DVD show him as being. He's never been horribly injured that I remember, and he's not THAT old for a goalie in today's day and age. And to put this thread back on the rails- I'm not surprised that Homer thinks this could be his last year. Miracles happen but this guy has been literally beaten mercilessly for years. Tomas Holmstrom is a diamond in the rough for the ages no matter what he does at this upcoming season's end.
-
I don't think the guy's a bad coach or anything but the style of play he pushes is as interesting as toast! I got thinking about it yesterday- I vaguely remember him leaving NJ what was the situation when he left? Anyone remember? Yes, Minnesota needs an exciting team. Period. I'm pulling for them.

Them be fightin' words round here! Yeah I don't get the Hossa love either I didn't think all that of him. Voted for Cheli, I hated that guys guts at one time as much as I hated Pronger a few months ago, but there was a reason for it, the guy was plain nasty and effective. The only problem I've had with him is that ppl seem to have forgotten that he was a warhorse of a dman and is still better than a lot of NHL dmen even at his age. I'll miss Jiri, he'll be back later. I'm calling it. I'm happy for Kopecky. Just wish we didn't have Hossa and him right in the same division. Speaking of which someone in the eastern conference needs to sign j-dub asap..... Goodbye Dr. Highandwide / Mr. Logohunter! Sammy sucks!

NHL asks IIHF, KHL to negate Hudler's KHL Contract
ltgator333 replied to Frozen-Man's topic in General
The NHL is just going to come out of this with a black eye. I don't blame Hudler. I think him going to Russia was probably the best thing that could've happened for the wings and for Hudler. If Detroit is ok with this then what's the NHL's problem with this? To me it just looks like they're trying to throw their weight around with the Russian league again and possibly trying to force Holland to eat Hudler's pending contract or walk away and make him a UFA. It's the only thing I could see the league getting out of this. -
Pronger out east for the rest of his career? THANK YOU!!!!
-
I'm going with you guys on this one. I do like Hudler and I also do not think he's reached his potential, BUUT too much $ is too much $. I still kind of wonder what d-man is going to be traded though. There were a few dark spots in a couple of well-paid d-men's play during the playoffs. I also wonder what a Stuart or Kronwall is worth on the market, and both make plenty esp. Stuart. Good on Leino tho, need somebody to play in these empty spots and they may as well be young and potentially talented. To me I'm halfway excited to see the young and potentially talented get a chance.

I think he was referring to the ice size in europe vs. north america, which is something that most all goalies not from north america have to get used to. There is a respectable contingent of Finnish goalies in the NHL though. I'd wondered that about him myself. I didn't realize Toronto had so many UFA goalies, AND it's a regular who's-who of has beens that I respect but need to go home.

tendinitis sucks. I stopped running over it (patellar tendon, both..), I haven't ran in YEARS and it still bothers me. It's not going to be a thing that goes away, it'll bother him forever. Surgery only helps in very severe cases to remove scar tissue from the tendon(s). this is from my own personal experience. The guy's been superman forever, I mean this just means he's getting up there. And he is unfortunately, it's just a testament to his ability that despite being darn near 40 he's still arguably the best.

Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa
ltgator333 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
yea no biggie dude. I do see what you're saying here and that would definitely be the hole in this plan if Osgood stinks it up during the regular season like he did last year. Unless one of the goaltending prospects is the next Varlamov (doubtful) it could be trade deadline do or die time. -
SWEEET! Might have to see pronger once a year, maybe twice.. fantastic! dear entire eastern conference, it's your turn now.

Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa
ltgator333 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Yeah I dunno that Howard's ready either, BUT if he's not they've got 2 more young goalies behind him on the waiting list. I wouldn't worry about Conklin tho, this is two years in a row for two diff teams he's been pretty well lights out. Somebody will throw some cash at him, possibly even a chance at starting somewhere. -
He was a waste on the 4th line. He's not a 4th line player, and he's never been able to find the back of the net at the NHL level so really good luck, goodbye.

Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa

Not shocked at all. Thanx for the regular season and squat else, buh-bye now. -
That was awesome. I'll miss the guy, I hope he does well wherever he's going. And he will.

I hated his guts when he was a hawk, didn't see how I'd like him as a wing, but I've came to really respect him as a person and as a player. I'm glad he's moving on, but he was a warhorse and he'll be a good 6/7th dman for someone, just not the wings.
