This is exactly how I'm taking it. I do not understand why you Pens fans are even here, last I knew we're not Penguin fans around here, especially lately. Don't you people understand the entire league, let alone RW fans get sick enough as it is of having your team shoved down our throats every time we see an NHL paid commercial on TV? You won, go celebrate on your own board, thank you for your support. -
Sharks fans? I can't believe you'd let sharks fans of all ppl off on that shore. What do they have to brag about from last playoffs exactly..

LMAO Good for Mr. Ilitch. I mean, he's a businessman and his bottom line just got hurt by prob several million bucks. I wouldn't have shook his hand either, tough chit. And I would've if my team won, just to rub it in more than anything.
-
We are going to be reminded enough of our team's loss, stop feeding these Pittsburg fans that are here for whatever and stop b!tchin about the calls that did or did not happen. Why drown yourselves in the recent negativity directed towards us or the team we root for? It happens all the time, we don't let it bother us otherwise! We fans have nothing to hang our heads over- hey we could be Lions fans or something. It's done. It's over. It sucks, I know, but it's time to let it go and move on.

Thank you I appreciate this. I know it's bad out there in media-land but do you honestly think it's going to get any better? It's not, you're going to have to look at Crosby with what very nearly was our cup until someone else wins it, and who knows how much longer beyond that. I don't think that very thick skin is necessary in this situation as compared to what could be to just chill out. Very good points above in that this is a flagship organization from top to bottom, we all know it, and anything's possible but odds are this isn't going to change anytime soon. I don't think Mr. Ilitch is just going to up and quit caring about his franchise nor is anyone else in management. PS- I'm not some ultra-optimist and I sure as hell am a good fan, good enough to be wearing my RW shirt all day, and hat, to a spectator sport in front of hundreds and didn't give a d@mn what anybody thought of it. At this point I don't know if them losing or watching the floodwaters on here pisses me off more! I mean gawd forbid half of you would've had to been fans when they WERE the dead wings/things. At least now we have a valid response to that, cup or not.

Sure do. They're due back at the tool shed now.

Win it so I don't have to look at the commercials w/Cindy for the next year+!!!
-
Keep it in Detroit and keep Cindy off my TV!!!

....then I will be f$cking pissed! I don't know how much NHL hockey I'll be watching next year either, the ads were bad enough this year when Crosby lost in the cup finals, he wins it they'll have him walking on water.. How about if the Wings pull this off on Friday???
-
Hopefully he goes to some eastern conference basement dweller so he can continue to suck and I don't have to look at it. Hey why not the Islanders?? They kept POS Yashin and even made the turd their captain!

He's just in denial that he's wrong, it's the only thing that makes sense to me.

I just don't get his attitude when it comes to teams that aren't making money. I understand the economy isn't going to stay where it's at right now forever, but they haven't made money in phoenix in quite some time and they'd about be guaranteed to be profitable in hamilton. Balsillie and Bettman's problem with him is another thing I don't understand. The guy has plenty of money, he's canadian and he wants to own a team.. what more exactly does Buttman want? Another owner that's permanently under his desk? And that's what I'm wondering is the problem, that Bettman sees Balsillie as a threat to him, even if it's just that Balsillie will call him out every now and again for some douchebaggery he's pulled. It takes a "big man" to step up and succeed, but it takes a bigger one to admit you're wrong- and he knows he's f***in wrong and he's just trying not to get completely exposed at this point.

Some idiot pens fans WOULD DEFINITELY whine that the wings beat them in game 3 because of no Malkin. Personally I agree with everyone here that says yeah keep Malkin playing because no he could not control himself last night and I hope it gets worse and he takes a few more stupid penalties and shows exactly why he's not ready to be a champion. I just wish they'd given Satan a 3rd man in (or he'd stayed out) and the linesman wouldda let them go. Z looked pretty good vs Malkin.

Homer isn't the best shooter or puckhandler or skater, but he earns every penny. And some. The guy takes $2M in crosschecks every playoffs alone.

LETS GO RED WINGS!!!! LETS GO 1000 POSTS!!!

That's about spot-on how I feel about it, but I'd like to add the matchup of Detroit's offense vs. Pittsburg's defence. To me, it's a mismatch and nobody seems to want to talk about it. To me, Eaton and Gill are about they're 2 best defensemen in their own zone, Eaton's nothing special (played for Nashville, you remember him prolly) and Gill's huge but he's just one man that could be made into a pylon from time to time. And be made to take stupid penalties from time to time. Detroit's D has to keep the Pens big forwards locked down as best as possible, and Detroit's forwards need to take advantage of the Pens lack on the blue line, how I see it.

Ozzie was clutch-tastic last night. I think he was gunning for the SO definitely, but hey nobody would've stopped that backhander. I think he will outplay Fleury in the finals.
-
I don't see how in the heck Helm could be back in GR permanently next year. No way. The lettering on the cup is kinda crappy looking but that's about as good as you can do with die punches and a hammer. And really at that point what's it matter what it looks like your name is on there for the ages!

Ok I don't want to get into the above discussion, sorry! It'll just get me going.. I was born into wings fan-dom, but have been paying attention since about '94-'95 and as far and well as I can remember the wings' physical play has always been underrated! So what's new? When the bruise brothers left, it started shortly thereafter from what I've been told.

Game 5 Injury Update: Ericsson, Datsyuk, Lidstrom out

Irregardless of size the guy isn't physically imposing in any way. And I wouldn't take him over any D we have right now. Not even Lebda. The guy doesn't play D, he's a PP quarterback more or less.

I think once you get past 35ish it goes away for sure. He is about as close as you can find though. I'm not too worried about this. The biggest loss for those two is the defensive abilities, and at this point I am positive they don't need them to finish Chicago anyway. The Pens.. are a different story they will need them back at that point, assuming Chicago doesn't pull a miracle. *knocks on wood, hard*
