Well, if I take my red wing shirt (and goggles) off for a minute and think about it, really I hope they get someone who works out for them and gets that organization back on track. Minnesota's a natural hockey market and it's really a shame to see them saddled with a very lackluster squad.

If Malts skated a bit more and/or threw a few more hits this would be a no-brainer. As is it's tough to say but I'll say this again Helm has played too well to not be in the lineup. I'd probably rotate Malts and Kopy actually.
-
I would imagine they'd be worth something... esp. if they're 3rd edition and down I'd think.
-
Excellent!! someone should do something Magic-related for the photoshop war, that would own.. ..just realized how long ago I gave all my cards away...

Yeah I would think at this point it's obvious Chelios and Meech are gone next year, best of luck to them both. Meech could be a solid #4 or #5 guy somewhere. So could Cheli for some teams.. Lebda might be back depending though.. he and Meech both have a year left and would need to be traded, but I think Lebda would be a better #6/#7 than Meech. He's not on the PP because of that giveaway he had.

Rafalski still out, Chelios still in for game 2
ltgator333 replied to IILeiBlazeII's topic in General
I kinda like the left/right handed shot combo on the PP, I think it allows the D on the point a little more flexibility. It's not the end of the world though. That said, Sammy was brutal and I'd like to see about anyone else be given a chance back there. Sammy LIKES to shoot, but I don't think he's the greatest at it. Totally agree w/ ppl about the Chelios thing- he's no Brain Rafalski at this point but he's better than Derek Meech, right? -
Yeah and Perry looked like a rag-doll in the 'fight'. He never had much of a chance to fight back. Ericsson is pretty awesome out there so far. I really hope he's around a while.
-
Draper in the lineup is a definite good thing in the playoffs. Say what you want about Kopy and Malts but Draper can skate circles around either of them. And win faceoffs with the best of them. And really, this is one series I wouldn't mind Aaron Downey being in the lineup one bit. Drapes centering Helm and Downey anyone?
-
I'd rather see the Caps win, as I didn't want the Pens to even make the playoffs. But it doesn't bother me too much either way- Boston can roll over either of them. And they will.

I agree I don't really want to see Helm sit, speed kills and he's got it in abundance. I'd like to see Drapes back in though- toss a coin between Kopy and Malts to see who sits.

WCQF GAME 4 GDT: Red Wings 6 at Blue Jackets 5

First off GO WINGS AND FINISH IT!!! Secondly I hope this game goes without incident, the fans in attendance and watching get a good, classy, game and that's that. -
Columbus Columnist: Osgood is Wings' Weak Link
ltgator333 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
nice ^^ I'm for one awfully glad he and the whole team have played as well as they have so far. If it wasn't for that they're on the brink of elimination I'd call that article an attempt at reverse-psychology. -
Yeah I forgot about that and it seemed like some of them were doing that last game in Montreal too, that is very classless good point.
-
LOL! .. or they can also goon it up in the corner on the Mule while Z scores a goal!
-
I couldn't agree more. I wish I hadn't went to bed halfway thru the 3rd, but it probably wouldda just pissed me off to see that anyway. I am also another one guilty of assuming Ohio fans were classy as *hit after watching Michigan/Ohio St. games.. but this takes it to a new level. I hope DRW win this next game in carbon-copy fashion (score early), take the crowd and the team out of it and get this series over with. That said, don't think these guys are the worst- I watched most of the CGY-CHI game the other night on VS and it just reminded me how much playing in Calgary absolutely sucks. That has to be one of the most abrasive team/fanbase ever.

That's about what I was gonna say and I didn't have to type it! -
What does everyone think of Ballard's hit on Malkin?
ltgator333 replied to CenterIce's topic in General
Not a thing wrong with that hit, other than Malkin trying to jump out of the way. That's the only thing that makes that look even remotely bad. Crosby belongs in the tool shed with the other tools for trying to fight him over that. That's what made the whole situation bad was him trying to fight over it. -
My dad still has the bottle of 'Hasek Sauce' I bought him years ago when I worked at Meijer. I was always curious of what it actually was like but I'd be scared to open it at this point, and my old man would probably blow a fuse. It sits on his living room mantle still. The Chelios soda is waay cooler though I mean you get like what 7 different pictures of him, freaking collector's gold!

f'n pathetic, again. I do not understand why I can't just not watch. DVR'd this one and watched them lose later at least, is that any better?

Conklin to start Thursday; Rafalski out again
ltgator333 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
That would've been highlight reel material... I too am surprised Lilja's NOT seen a neurologist or gotten a MRI until now, seems suspect to me. Maybe Lils don't like doctors?? It is awfully lucky that the team has guys like Ericsson and yes even Cheli around just in case. And Conklin, hopefully he doesn't get made a fool out of. -

Should we abandon the race for the President's trophy?
ltgator333 replied to Yzerman191's topic in General
QFT! Giving up on the president's trophy is a question of whether you want to play 3 or 4 games in the 'shark tank' if everything goes well to that point. -

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. Conklin has to be one of the most solid backups the wings have had as of late. -

Well it IS true.. who was the last goalie in the D over $4m/yr? Wasn't it Cujo? -

I get what the intial post is saying but the fact of the matter is that we DRW fans are hard on goalies and probably will always be. And Osgood deserves a good portion of the critisizm he's gotten even on here as he's not shown a consistent reason not to speak less than highly of him this season. The thing I can't agree with is folks on here saying he never was talented and/or currently has no talent- he does and has and if you can't see that then something's off on your end. I'm not getting into it about this so save it. What do I think the people who get paid a lot of money because they know a lot more about hockey than most of us on here should do about it is the same thing they did last year, start the experienced goalie and let him blow it. Hasek lost two games and was gone, and it all worked out fine. And the reason why it WOULD WORK AGAIN THIS YEAR is Ty Conklin. A second goalie (backup, #1B, whatever) is an insurance policy and Conklin's a good one. Yes, better than Manny Legacy.
