It was the f'n Islanders that was a 2 point gimmie! Hell no they weren't going to go 8-0 in their last 8, but now they're 0-1 to the worst team they could've played in their last 8. And mark my words- the sharks win their next game they will absolutely win the president's trophy. And gain home ice, all playoffs long. Oh yeah- at least they could've tried to win and lost.

Oh ok so they haven't sucked bad before they got booted early either I suppose? And good anyway, now I am positive I'm not watching another game until Game 1. This was not just another game. This was a game against a horrible team that would've near cemented home ice advantage ALL PLAYOFFS LONG. And they blew it and played as a team for 20 mins of 60. After they were already down 2, and the game's outcome was already ultimately decided. They got, and rightfully so, booed off the ice after 40. I don't care to watch games like that, if I did I'd be an Senators fan. Or a Habs fan (cringe!).

No no no, the Russian Five didn't need to use their bodies to shield the puck because they could pass better than about anyone, and get it done before it was necessary to shield the puck, normally. A lot of the rest of the team did though, I specificly remember Malts/Drapes doing it.

I agree I can't believe I wasted so much as my time to watch that game last night that was f-ing pathetic. And no, that wasn't the first time they've done that- I think they basicly did the same dayum thing vs. Edmonton and pulled it out of their arse in the third period. You can call me whatever you want, I don't care, but I'm not watching another regular-season game. And if they keep blowing games to s***ty teams there's not going to be any point in watching the playoffs either because they're just going to get owned by a more motivated (and less talented!) team. No team in this league has enough talent to win on talent alone, bar NONE, w/o effort they'll be out by round 2. Oh yeah- Anyone remember back in '97 when they could hold on to the puck because the players knew how to use their body to protect the puck, what the heck ever happened to that anyway? Don't they realize if you're pushing the puck out in front of you w/your stick while skating someone's just going to slap it away from you????

The whole team looks half lost at this point!! Yes I think that was a softie by Osgood. He was way too far back in the net. Then again his defense isn't supposed to let that pass happen, and they were on a dayum PP supposedly... c'mon already!!!!

Dear Detroit Red Wings, DO NOT BLOW THIS DAMMIT!!!!!! That includes Dr. Osgood. Mr. Osbad is not, I repeat NOT allowed at the game tonight. Period. I very seriously feel that if they win this one game, it will be president's trophy time. And we all know president's trophies don't mean much but they DO mean home ice advantage all playoffs long. Which is very good.

Well I realize there's a lot of people that consider auto racing a 'redneck' thing and dismiss it as easy because of that, but really it has physical demands you wouldn't even think of in some cases until you're behind the wheel. I agree about the different levels of difficulty, and hockey has to be right up there with football for difficulty to continue playing despite age, and I'd throw in there being a pitcher in baseball, especially a starter, has to be a grueling thing considering the wear these guys put on their throwing arms.

Race drivers (some classes more than others) work harder on their ass-end than golfers at a tourney or baseball players at a game. It's obvious you don't have a clue about motorsports whatsoever, so... why are you talking about it?

Mulestien - Valteri - Hossa (Filpulla is going to step it up at this point, he should be given the opportunity even if he does lose it.) Homer - Hudler - Sammy (I would consider putting Leino on this line, or Valteri for Hudler if he doesn't get it done.) Malts - Drapes - Helm (Nothing against Kopecky so much but there's only one person on the whole team with the speed of Helm- Hossa.) Leino, Kopy and Downey could sub in 3rd or 4th line as need be. Lidstrom - Kronner Brian - Stewie I like these pairings better because you have a physical D with a puck moving D. These guys are professionals they make this work really well. Lilja - Chelios/Ericsson/Lebda (Whoever wants to play good hockey) Conklin Osgood If one doesn't get it done, the other will. Hopefully, in either case.

Yes I was not trying to make Oz look any better, at times he's been as awful as I've ever seen him this season. I like the guy actually but he does piss me off/disappoint often enough. According to the stats shown it doesn't look very likely that the Wings will win the cup this year, but these stats don't tell the whole story, and don't even tell it well. The last goalie to have over 3 GAA was patty waaah, and even though I hate the guys guts he was one of the best ever and I think possibly the SV% would show that a little more than his GAA.

I had a double filet-o-fish not more than two hours ago. Mickey D's sucks for that commercial. I still do not understand why people do not get why SV% is a much more telling statistic of the goaltenders' performance than GAA. GAA is more about the style of the team, or actually anymore it's more about the defensive ability of the team said goalie plays for.

Been a little bit since I've posted, better get my act together- I'll second that 4-3 Blues. I'm saying it hoping it doesn't happen though.

I really think Hossa didn't do too bad at all, and really allthough I don't really want Hossa getting into a bunch of scraps, I think that took some real guts to fight the guy. I wish that fighting in the NHL was more like that.. instead of a very narrow slice of the total players in the NHL doing 80% of all the fighting.

Eddie the Ego was a real bastard on and off the ice from nearly anything I've ever read or saw of him. So was Patty Waaah. That's two guys I never did, and never will like. The Turtle never really bothered me too much, after he got his. The illusion was gone, he could and was owned. (many times all in total) Exposed for the punk he was, he never really caught my attention much. The one guy, that I used to not be able to stand, hated even watching games against Chicago.. Chris Chelios. Now he's a wing though and all is forgiven.

I don't know exactly why but probably because ever since he left Detroit, save a few seasons in Boston, he's been a bum.

Hopefully the wings continue to play like they have the last couple games, I agree Nashville does pick up their play against the wings, but who doesn't? Everybody likes a shot at a defending champion. 3-2 wings in reg.
