I think Ozzie looked fine, I was very impressed with how he played.
-
You know what, that's so crazy it makes perfect sense. That would be cool if not a single RW played in the all-star game.. the NHL would HAVE TO re-think the whole thing for next season.
-
Yeah how the hell does that work? I think the all-star game is just sinking closer and closer to being an all-out joke. It'll just be a matter of time before basicly all the best players in the NHL will be watching the game..
-
Well, he sucked. Yeah not following why anyone would want this guy, he's a regular seive.
-
I also thought this was a given that Conklin was going to play, especially after throwing a shutout last night- any coach in the league would be silly not to go with the goalie who just threw a shutout. Only player(s) I think that deserve to play in that game are the 2 guys on D that Chicago is home to them.
-
Yeah that wasn't good. But nobody, and I mean nobody in their right mind could say that while Proby was playing in Det that he was a chickens*** and/or cheapshot artist. If he started something he could surely back it up 100%. And he could play hockey better that 22.
-
Well ok Sammy's not practicing oh boy.. whatever. If the guy didn't play personally I'd miss him about this much. As for Draper and Malts.. I was looking at this myself a few days back and yes both have more than a year left on their contracts and yes that doesn't sit well with me. Darren Helm and Justin Abdelkader could *almost* do their jobs. But.. whatever we could be doing a lot worse. Hey San Jose signed Claudia Le Turtle.. least we're not going anywhere near that level of the basement!

I second this motion.. Why in the Puck don't ppl see this guy for what he is? (an over-zealous @$$ clown) I hate seeing players hurt, but one of these days somebody's gonna cash this guys check and it's not going to be pretty. I hope I'm watching. EDIT I agree with ppl's posts up there about him being a cheapshot artist, of course. And as for comparing him to Avery, who I have no love for either, at least Avery can play the game. Tootoo can't, and really I think he fires up the other team as much as he does anything.

If Oz is out for anthing more than 3-4 games I think it's a given that the GR goalie, whoever that may be, will start a game. I'd like to see Larsson, simply because I've seen Howard. More than once, for better or worse, doesn't really matter to me at this point. As for Ozzie.. rest up, heal up right. Hell even get some work in at GR when you get back and take it seriously this time. Just be ready to stop some shots like everyone knows you can come April.
-
Bingo. That's the only problem I have with the guy, don't cheapshot ppl while wearing the winged wheel, we don't need any stains on it. Not saying don't be physical, but just don't end up in a discussion about whether or not you shouldda been suspended or something.
-
whooooaaaa lmao!!!! I'm gonna say I realize the irony in the suspension length (however long it ends up being..) compared to other probably more severe acts on the ice but, I can't subscribe to anyone's opinion that says Avery hasn't brought this on himself. The guys good for controversy, everybody knows it. He's been told before to keep his mouth shut and he didn't. Screw him.

OMG I didn't realize that Dallas had turned into a team full of punk-@$$ed B*tches! I didn't listen to the announcers but am I the only one who thinks that the Dallas players seemed like they were asking to get their lights knocked out all video long? Oh yeah and watching Avery get beat on always gets me eroused. Too bad someone didn't really beat his big mouth shut for a while.

I agree with the ppl saying the wings haven't looked defensively right since the season started- they do look discombobulated in their own end. I don't know how many times I've seen either goalie have to make a real dandy of a save. I'm not real worried about either goalie really other than that I'd hate to see their confidence tank because pucks are going in.
-
I do. It's kinda funny that to this day if you google 'Bush boot licker' you'll still find many instances of John Howard in the results... hopefully Mr. Rudd's got a little better public image in Oz? Back on topic though I wonder how much hype there is to being king of Sweden? I mean like if queen Elizabeth (or any of her family for that matter) shows up anywhere it's a big deal. I tell ya what I like him already.. turning #2 into electricity, right on man!

I like this thinking. How's about one of those brews?

Oh man.. that's like 30 mins from me. Sooo tempted... -
Dear Schneids- HA HA HAHAHA inyourface. Why the hell would anyone want to play for Anahiem anyway?? Burke is a real peice of work, as shown by this bone headed move. I still can't believe they actually won a championship.
-
Well there's a difference between being on a lucky streak where things are just going your way and making things happen, and I don't know about you all here but Franzen seemed to be making a good percentage of things happen for him rather than just being in the right place at the right time more often than not. I think he'll keep it up to a certain extent, probably to the tune of about 30 goals next season.
-
I think it to a certain extent starts right from the top with the ownership... I mean they have a good product as-is so there's no pressure to turn the franchise around next season, there's no pressure to prove anything with the draft picks they chose right away. The whole organization can take it's time to do things right instead of rushing prospect development. They've got the talent where it counts in scouting and coaching obviously as well, and that just plays into the whole system. As long as they stick with the plan and keep the proper talent where said talent needs to be the wings could be a top tier club for decades. ALSO- when you're running a good team like the wings it makes it that much easier to sign free agents, I mean the question to these guys is basicly hey if you wanna play for a winner come to detriot. Same for player retention, unless guys they draft have a strong desire to go somewhere else, why would they? They're already playing for a good team that's going to continue to be that way.
-
I think that's a respectable offer for Mats Sundin and if he's interested in coming here and playing to win, he'll take it. That offer from Vancouver is basicly make more money to play for about the same caliber of team he played for last year. Sundin would have to drag the Canucks to the playoffs on his back, possibly while they're kicking and screaming most of the way so to speak, it all depends on how well they're superstar goalie holds up. I think we'll see what Sundin is looking for by who he signs with. On a side note though, if he came to Detroit they'd be a few players shy of really being team Sweden in the eyes of other fans... I imagine we here in Detroit would catch some jabs about it!
-
and to think we've resigned Lilja already... darnit!
-
Ok Imma throw my two cents in the pot- I dunno about Ray Emery, really if I was looking for a backup goalie I think I'd try to get Kolzig, he's a hell of a guy off the ice, and on the ice he's NHL backup-capable.
-
I'm not going to fault the guy either way, there's good reasons to go either way and I truely believe it comes down to what's best in his own personal intrests. Malkin is not Yashin. Yashin left for money and he was semi-blacklisted in the NHL. Any team in the NHL would take Malkin and he can make plenty of money either way. What I'm getting at here is don't be stereotypical with the guy, if the stereotypes were 100% or close to being accurate there'd be nearly no Russian born players in the NHL. Alex the great would be gone already, so would Pavel, Federov, Gonchar, Zubov and probably others.
-
Well hopefully Ellis is the real deal for the Preds, I believe he is. And Mason will push Legacy for the #1 spot in St. Louis, I don't think he'll take it from him but at least they'll have a solid option behind Legacy. Chris Mason can win some games. All in all the central division gets better, and people still won't be able to use the 'wings had a cakewalk in their division' BS.
-
The guy has no class. I'm sure there'd be some leftover soreness in the locker room as he's pissed off loads of people in the league. I'd take Drake for another year over that bum.
