Geez did you catch the jealous rant from the Leafs fan at the bottom of the article?? Zetterberg envy at it's best...

Aside trade speculation I didn't think that Langfeild-Hussey-Ellis was a half bad line last time they had them together. They were holding the puck in the offensive zone for decent periods of time. Better than Lang's line does on a consistant basis.

I think if he's being 'groomed for big things' he needs to get bigger- It's ok (sorda..) if you don't hit people, Lidstrom doesn't really, but Lebda gets pushed around like a punk. 15-20 lbs isn't gonna hurt the guy.

Wings have made an Offer for Jason Blake

Could pick up worse and it's a lot better than nothing. -
Detroit needs more than one line that can score. Also, I kinda like watching Kronner and Danny destroy people, but from where I'm sitting they're giving away chances on Detroit's net while they're still looking for a body to bang. Yes, knock some people down, but be responsible about it. Oh yeah, Detroit really needs more than one line that can score. J Willy actually was showing some energy last night, man I like Franzen (he had a goal, end of discussion), and I'm not sure if Lang is lazy or not, but he DOES suck. Maltby had as much chance to score as Lang did last night, and Malts has hands of stone. I almost think Babcock should break that line up, just to try to fire the second line up. I never thought Mikael was all that big of a deal, but they miss him lately. In closing, Detroit needs more than one line that can score pretty bad.

Jason Williams has to be one of the worst players in the NHL.

The game isn't one person's fault, allthough Willie can be canned at any time without the worry of hurting my feelings. You know who I think sucked more than him though? 'Badass' Bob... and he pisses me off worse 'cause it's not like he's only had one good season at the NHL level. He wasn't half bad last year, for starters. It seemed to me that the Oilers were shutting down Detroits puck possesion with an aggresive forecheck and physical play in Detoits defensive zone. -
Wandering can be dangerous for any goalie at any time, but all goalies do it at least once in a while. They're only human. That said, how 'bout Dom boxing out that Oiler behind the net in the 3rd? Maybe he wants to play D on games when Oz is in net....

Ok, I feel it necessary to add another dimension to the discussion- Aside from home ice advantage, I would rather see the wings come in 4th at the end of the season and have San Jose overtake Anaheim in the Pacific and play Anaheim 1st round. Playing against a potential wing-killer (Giguere) right off would be a great 'litmus test' I suppose to see whether the wings are a playoff team, or spare us all the agony and get it over quick. Or you could look at it that Anaheim has been in a steady decay since mid-season and they might be a soft first round compared to the potentially lethal offense of San Jose, that has effectively nailed the wings a few times this season.

I would beleive every part of this except the Kronwall thing.. I would say those two from buffalo are barely worth Kronwall alone. I got not a lot of love for Lang, but I think he's the player Detroit really shouldn't give up cause the guy has size, none of the other centermen really have size. Hank and Draper make up for size in that they are very strong.. and it's a credit to them but... I can't say I've really liked a lot of the trade rumors surrounding Detroit at all so far. The goalies that have been mentioned, I liked Luongo and Gerber was allright, but after they lost out on those two I think Holland needed to just find some sort of stop gap until one of they're prospects developed and call it good. Crazy Eddie or Hasek would be allright, but I'm just worried about the problems either of those guy's egoes would cause in the locker room. I'd still like to see them pick up Aebischer from Montreal, the superstar to be had was Luongo and he's gone. Detroit would be doing just fine with an average goalie for the time being. Biron is NOT tested, heck of a gamble to trade your only big center and your only good young defenseman away for. Afgenof (yeah I butchered his name, sorry) isn't any more impressive than some of the other prospects they have will be in a few years. I am VERY not for them trying for and not winning a cup next year by trading away the talent for the next 3-7 years. They do this crap (AGAIN!!) and I'm finding another team to follow, flat out. First and foremost I'm a hockey fan, and if Detroit is content with destroying their future.. time to check out someone else who isn't.

I don't think he's worth 4 million, even for one year. We need some size but geez.. not for that price.

you know what else is ... when you have a webpage that you absolutely NEED to work right, and it's constantly not working right, half down, or out of date. LGW sees plenty of traffic and yet.....

The mighty fine Maria Kirilenko... Agreed. You know, for as much ugly as hockey unfortunately does collect, tennis seems to include some really beautiful people. Tennis would still be better though, if it were hockey. Anyone remember those commercials, btw?? Basketball would be better, if it was hockey with the netminder sitting on the backboard and billards would be better with the one player getting ready to make the winning shot and gets hip-checked to the floor... so on and so forth?

Math HW did blow back when I was required to still take math.... Aussie who is that girl in the pic?

I think this is a *meh* deal. It doesn't really matter at all. We've got a solid 5 defensemen that are better than him, and a few more that are arguably better. The only way this guy comes into play I think is if someone is/gets hurt. You could also probably see this guy playing in the last stretch to give some of our current, regular D-men a rest. I would've been much happier about this deal if he was a forward. Maybe he can play some LW/RW and give some of our forwards a rest while he's at it too....

Just saw the woman that's replacing her on TV as I was walking in the door from work... If I was her I'd want to b**** smack Kwan for making me late for the Olympics and possibly screwing me out of being able to compete at the top of my game. 'cause really, that's all Kwan did.

Seems like they could cut down on a lot of the BS calls by defining 'incidental contact' in the rules and not calling penalties for it.

Hey Manny>Ozzie I like the graphic in your sig, pretty sweet dude. Was beginning to think that had been forgotten about.. That said, I think the wings will get fired up and pull this one out. They really needed to win one of these games, and this one is obviously gonna be easier to win. In this situation I do not think Manny>Ozzie, but if the wings play well it won't matter either way. Manny needs a rest either this game or next, that's what Osgood's there for. EDIT- do I type much or what??

Well obviously Osgood didn't play well but again.. we scored 3 on Turco then got a whole 12 shots on Hedberg in 38 minutes. One hell of a hard time Hedberg had going through the motions. -

I'm gonna say the wings continue rolling and smack the Stars, again. 4-2 Wings. -
Long as he's all good and healed up, sure as heck is. A lot of what we're missing he can provide.
