I only saw a few games that he played in back in his MSU days, but his game looks very similar, maybe not quite as offensively effective but just to be able to translate as much as he has so far to the NHL level deserves a big As far as who's out when injured people *hopefully* start coming back, he unfortunately has to go, unless waivers become involved for the likes of Eaves or Miller. The time in the AHL won't hurt him at this point, as it's been pointed out he'll be racking up the ice time down there instantly.

Oh but being biased is easy fun, for example- USA hockey is bringing home some precious metal from Canada this year, and pissing in Canada's wheaties, in their own backyard, just for s***s&giggles because they can. I assure you I'm smiling right now. It's even more fun when you talk a little trash with your bias, as shown above. I think they have an honest shot at it, like any other team that's going to be competing it boils down to how well they all gel as a team, the talent is there I believe to NOT come home empty handed. I just hope they respectably represent my country, that's the only thing that will really disappoint me.

That's the single most important peice of information to this discussion. I mentioned that in a comment on the youtube vid of the incident, and almost everyone made it clear that they don't let facts like this get in the way of making up their minds.

Really you could almost have a pylon playing with Stuart the way he's playing right now.. oh wait... Who knows though, we could be absolutely shocked and/or horrified next game by the defense pairings. For example if Lebda and Meech are playing together.

Well with the first angle I saw of it I couldn't tell if the knee was hyperextended or not. Don't kid yourself here though that could've been worse. oh and- let's hope it's not.

Sounds about right, you got a 'weak side' and a babysitter in each pairing, which is imo the best they can do at this point no matter who you put in there. That said I still think they've got defensemen playing in GR that are as good AND have something to prove. Tell ya what Lebda/Meech need to realize for themselves if they play well they might get picked up by someone when they're waived by February if all goes well.... When I saw the hit I thought for sure that was Kronner's season. That looked nasty. I'll believe 2-3 weeks when I see him play next.

I didn't mind the jerseys so much but the trying to reproduce old school plain leather gloves was a sure miss. Yeah my 1 1/2 yr. old poops stuff that color every day, very accurate observation beepbeep. The part I didn't get is why they heck they'd do that, get all 'dressed up', and then out come the wings in their normal, modern away jersey. It'd been that much better if our guys were wearing the old school DETROIT jersey posted above. jmo, the old DETROIT jersey looks way better, especially if they could get some realistic up-to-your-elbow plain leather gloves to go with.

It's more incompetence than anything at this point. It's not a conspiracy though, it's just as simple as nobody wants to give the wings a break because of the fact that they win so much. Nobody needs to conspire to feel that way.

I was under the impression they would be playing IIHF rules except for the NHL sized ice size as well. Hopefully the trapezoid isn't involved! I've not heard of them using non-IIHF sized ice in the Olympics before. To me I think the whole re-configuring the rink thing is probably too much of a pain in the rear to do, but, isn't it a nice little bonus for teams Canada and USA? The devil's in the details, as usual.

Here's to them keeping it at least 2.9 or above! And yes any good statistician would throw the 9 goal game out, but, an scoring outburst (5-7 let's say) at somewhat regular intervals is hard to ignore and not beyond their capabilities, jmo. At least one every couple months.

Good for him that he's having a 'career year'. The thing that concerns me is I didn't know that being snake bit was contagious but it seems like nearly the whole team's came down with it barring a few exceptions. Hopefully they light somebody up and get it out of their systems asap- that'd be great to destroy the BJ's tonight.

I don't know that he'll get an NHL job at his salary, if he does it'll be someone highly motivated (near desperate), jmo. He should play, anywhere, with Jagr again. He and Jagr in NY were awesome, and it seems he's went downhill since.

Wow this is going to be nice to see Ron Wilson behind the bench, the frustration on his face as he's losing to Detroit AGAIN (between him and "Q" idk who I like seeing lose more) and doing it while coaching the sorry maple loafs.. Wings win 3-1.

I am officially tired of fights starting over clean hits. If you get hit, you get hit. The game goes on. In this case the goalie was somewhat at fault I think (Ohlund could've also gave a heads up), he could've just stayed in the net and things would've been a little more even between Hedman and Neil. As for the trapezoid- you can make a very complicated issue out of this easily. I wish if anything the rule was more simple one way or another- either you want goalies to keep their skates in front of the goal line (except for between the pipes) or they're free and clear for their whole half of the ice. Either or has it's upsides, and either or includes no trapezoid. I should just make a thread on this..

Awesome, I'm just glad to hear he's feeling better. Would be nice to see him play before the end of the year.

He said something worse than what he was quoted as saying. It was "discrimination" most likely but a 5 game suspension is pretty bogus. A fine, maybe. Un-sportsman-like 2 minutes more like it. On the one hand I am kinda glad it's being taken into consideration- anyone remember when Euro players could get hacked & whacked regularly for being from Europe and nobody cared? At least now their only slightly shunned in the media.

How much of a chance is there that it will continue like this? I could grumble about this for hours.... it will be 'righted' just watch. Maybe ppl are wising up and realizing basketball really sucks to watch. Haven't watched a basketball game in years. If you've seen a few, you've seen them all imo.

Didn't want to anyway, but, he does need to have a few more games like the last two during the course of the regular season if this team's going to make it to the post-season this year. He still needs to finish the regular season with numbers as good or better than what he has as of today I think. I'm glad he (more importantly, the team) got the shutout, now was the perfect time for that I think.

He's currently a PPG player (and more importantly, +7 with only 2 PM), but he can't play. He's a joke. He's too old, doesn't know when to let go and all that. I'm really not terribly surprised he's doing well so far. Kinda brings back bad memories to see him in that #7 jersey tho- remembering how much it sucked to play Chicago w/ Chelios on the ice seeming all game long.
