Maybe that was the problem. You gotta let a race horse run.
-
Yeah they've been there all year. Not every game though. Maybe 50-50. The epic handstand last night was a new twist though.
-
I'd add the Hawks to that. I honestly think one of the top 4 in the west will win it. Any of those 4 against any eastern team should prevail in the finals. The toughest part will be getting out of the west.
-
Thanks. I was just going to the game log to double check that.

Haters will hate I guess.

I disagree. There's so much more to Sedin's goal. There was a sick set-up tip-pass from Henrik. The between the legs thing was done as well as it's ever been done. It was a hat-trick goal. And it put the icing on the cake for the Art Ross trophy for Henrik. You take all those things into consideration and it's as epic a goal as you will find in the regular season. It wasn't just one player scoring a goal. It was everything.

Unbelievable goal.... Watch the last slo-mo replay. The first couple you don't get a good idea of what Daniel actually did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuZjaRP6li4&feature=player_embedded#

Okay, I'll just go with the flow because it appears everyone here pretty much just reads the opening comment and then makes a post at the end..... It would of been worse if he lied, said Detroit is a nice city and was then judged as insane -- wouldn't it?
-
Here's an example of how an innocent comment can be made to look slimy, and why it's never smart to judge a single quote that for all anyone knows, was taken out of context. With the exception of the offending Burrows quote, that's totally made-up by me, but it could easily be a set of true quotes that no one in the world would have a problem with. Context; it's not in the Detroit News "article", and should therefore be suspect..
-
Okay. Let's see the off-ice press quotes where he disses other cities, or even other players. You know of them. You find them. If he indeed does this "all the time", you should be able to come back with quite a few of a different variety. How did Bubba become your "friend" there puffy?
-
Pretty skimpy article. Taken out of context maybe? I would think so. He could be referring to the fact that playing the Wings will involve more travel than pretty-well any other team in the west. It's like Kesler's often quoted "I hate Canada" comment. He wasn't referring to the country, he was referring to Team Canada and getting his game on. Still, every moron under the sun repeats it without explaining the context. Jeez you guys. Get a grip. I honestly cannot see Burrows even implying that he hates any city.

You're undoubtedly right. I bet some of them are heading into the basement at this very moment and testing the strength of their rafters. I discovered a new favourite pastime when the Flames made all those trades awhile back. There were a few consecutive days where you could tune into the Flames radio channel and hear an assortment of Flames fans drunk-dialing in at all hours of the day and night. It was awesome.

3/20 GDT: Red Wings 4 at Canucks 3 (OT)
Chairman Maouth replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
In my opinion, Holmstrom pushes the boundaries more than other players. That's why he gets penalized. -
Ryan Kesler signs 6-year/$30 million deal with Canucks
Chairman Maouth replied to Blueliner's topic in General
That would be fine if you were actually basing your comment on what he said and not on what you think he said. I've been trumped. And they're both made of carbon and water and other stuff. -
Ryan Kesler signs 6-year/$30 million deal with Canucks

And I can't believe Filppula is being brought up in the same thread as Kesler. The only thing Kesler and Filppula have in common is that you can use the same scale to determine that Kesler is much better. -
You guys probably know this already....

Will the Top Team in the West Purposely Lose to Avoid Playing Detroit?
Chairman Maouth replied to a topic in General
Anyone who thinks the Wings are going deep into the playoffs has not watched their regular season play this year. Anyone who thinks they won't go deep into the playoffs is disregarding their recent history. Anyone who thinks a team would tank to avoid playing them is just a little nuts. -
As a Canucks fan, all I can do is thank the hell out of you for thinking along the same lines as Ken Holland.
-
I would. I'd gladly take the Wings over the Sharks or Hawks. And no disrespect meant to the Wings, but I'm not sure they can get far based on reputation alone. They really need to start lighting it up before I change my opinion. This year, the Detroit offense just isn't producing. Stats for goals allowed and goals scored are equal. And as far as goaltending in the playoffs goes, it remains to be seen if there are any more rabbits left to pull out of that hat. I don't think Howard has ever played an NHL playoff game. Not an ideal situation when heading into the playoffs with a struggling offense.

Well it finally happened. I finally met a Newfie I didn't like.

2010 Winter Olympics - Men's Hockey Semifinals
Chairman Maouth replied to Serapth's topic in General
I assume you think that's a Canada Goose. It's not. Fail. -
Then why have a coach at all? Ridiculous. Babcock has done (or not done) things that have been baffling during these games and they could have affected the outcome. I agree. I was critical of Babcock here a few days ago, but I saw no bonehead moves last night. Thanks for your earlier reply. I read it.
-
I didn't make this thread. I simply replied to it. And it might be nice if you addressed the points I made and attempted to refute them rather than taking the easy way out and accusing me of having an ulterior motive because I'm Canadian. Step up with an argument or take your 2-bit theories about my motives elsewhere please. Besides, you know nothing of how I feel about Team Canada and it's a mistake on your part to lump me in with any nutty generalized view you may have of Canadians.

"The most overlooked aspect of Uncle Sam's win on Sunday was the fact that Ron Wilson, plain and simple, outcoached Mike Babcock." -- Stan Fischler
