ChitownWingsfan -- I edited my above post after you posted because I realized that the info I got was from 2007. I know he hasn't beaten the Canucks since then though and I also posted his stats against Vancouver. They're abysmal. 6W 16L GAA 3.39 SV% .887

Should be a very entertaining series. Hawks won the first two games of the season, Canucks won the last two in very convincing fashion, 7-3 and 3-0. The last game featured a ton of fights and a full on line-brawl that featured MMA style take-downs, fish-hooking and hair-pulling and general all-out hatred. And for some reason, Chicago fans really seem to hate Vancouver. Of note: Khabibulin hasn't beaten the Canucks in 11 years. His career stats are: 6W 16L GAA 3.39 SV% .887

Frodo Baggins explains why the Sharks are losing
Chairman Maouth replied to redeyedwings's topic in General
I'm a big fan of the late Hunter S. Thompson and his sports and political writing, and I'm a writer myself. That article is very well-written, and the only thing I can compare it to is Hunter Thompson. As a writer, (although not about sports) I'm kind of jealous. I hope that guy is a paid writer, because he deserves it. -
Your spelling of "aneheim" makes for one incredibly ironic post.

I'll quote Wikipedia for you They are trying to build a historical database about hockey. If you don't think that's a good idea, then go f*** with the speed-walking database where pretty much no one gives a s***.
-
It's people like you (editing Wiki to satisfy your sense of humour) that gives it a bad name. It's also ironic that some Red Wings fans on this very thread have complained about that exact thing. Wikipedia is a highly valuable research tool as long as people who don't have a clue what they're doing don't f*** with it.

And you, are an idiot. The list is a list as it was published in a book at the time. It is factual in that the book is the source of the information contained in the Wiki and it is not up for revision (as some of you guys have done). It is also not eligible for revision no matter what players may have achieved since it was first published.

Have you thrown an octopus on the ice at JLA?

It's official: CBJ fans are the dumbest in sports
Chairman Maouth replied to RedWingAbner's topic in General
It's kind of ironic..... In pointing out the worst traits of Blue Jackets fans, some Wings fans have done the same thing to themselves. -
And how does that apply to me any more than it does to Torless up above. Take it up with him. I simply responded. OMFG ROFLMAO!!!! (I've never used those acronyms before, but that seemed like the perfect place for it)

And I absolutely love hearing that. And you may recall a series we just finished that most experts also picked would go about 6 games.
-
Or, looking at it from a Vancouver point of view -- this season went 2-2-0. Victories go in the win column in the standings. It's only loser points that are listed in the loser column for the loser. Add to that that Vancouver is not the same team that Detroit faced early in the season, (all games were in 2008).

So that leaves what.... only a couple thousand people at the Joe that he still has to worry about?

I'm thinking both the Flames and Hawks would be a nasty series. Last time we played the Hawks it was an incredibly dirty and emotional game (we won 4-0). It even featured a good old-fashioned line brawl. I think I'd prefer to play the Flames though. We beat them 4-2 in the season series (I think we beat Chicago too) and they've really sputtered the last few months. Having said that, I think they'd play us well though, so Godammit I don't know what I'm saying anymore. I'm just glad we're going to be well-rested and they're still beating the crap out of eachother.
-
And from a Canucks fans point of view, nothing could be going better right now. Looks very much like Anaheim will eliminate San Jose, we'll be facing Chicago or Calgary, the Wings hopefully will eliminate Anaheim and providing we get through the winner of the Flames/Hawks, I think most of us would prefer to play the Wings. I think the Wings overall are the best team in the league, but we play them tougher than the Sharks or Ducks. Also, we have an extended period of time off to heal wounds. Things are falling into place for the Canucks very well right now.

Kesler and Burrows talking trash about Backes' wife
Chairman Maouth replied to hillbillywingsfan's topic in General
Aren't American Drill Sergeant's the nastiest trash-talkers in the world? I don't think they draw the line at family. -
He's already done that.

I'm a Canucks fan and could care-less about what Burrows and Kesler say on the ice, as long as they keep it on the ice. Avery crosses a line when he seeks out the media in order to make derogatory comments about players, whereas I have never seen Burrows and Kesler do that. As a matter of fact, they are both highly respectful of the people they play against. -
Get your facts straight please. I'm not only a smart-ass (when it comes to politics), I'm a highly sarcastic smart-ass.

Thanks for giving me perhaps the most useless stat ever. The Florida Panthers certainly did well with Luongo in net -- didn't they?
-
Damn Owl -- it's like your clock stopped ticking sometime back in the summer and you missed an entire season of hockey.

I think that was me who said that. I'm not sure if the coaching staff or the players for Vancouver aspire to be Detroit specifically, because Vancouver is built quite different from Detroit and if Vancouver were to play like Detroit it might be a short series in Detroit's favour. The Canucks appear to be blazing their own path which is based on excellent goaltending, a well-rounded offence from top to bottom along with gritiness and a very nasty defensive core to play against. Trust me on this one, if we play you guys you're all going to hate Kevin Bieksa a great deal after a game or two because he can make Chris Pronger look like a legitmate Lady Byng trophy candidate. I think the clash of the two different styles may make for an excellent series.

They those people are retarded. And measuring a relatively young goaltenders abilities by his lack of Stanley Cups also doesn't make much sense. But yeah, suggesting that Vancouver would sweep Detroit is laughable.
