    (1) Vancouver Canucks vs. (2) San Jose Sharks

Anyone who says the Sharks outplayed the Canucks in a game where the Canucks outhit, outshot, outchanced and outscored the Sharks.

    (1) Vancouver Canucks vs. (2) San Jose Sharks

Canucks started to get their legs in the second and took over. The third period was utter domination. I sometimes wonder which games you guy watch.

    Barnaby arrested

Jesus.... members of the TSN panel are dropping like flies. Last week it was Biznasty being quietly dropped after talking about the hot women in Nashville. This week it's Barnaby upping the ante. Bob McKenzie must feel like the last camper in a slasher movie right about now.

    Derek Boogaard found dead

Very doubtful this long after the injury I think. Not trying to be funny at all, but I don't think death is a common side effect of concussion this long after the fact.

    Derek Boogaard found dead

Boogaard was the prototypical goon, but I will always remember a fight he got in with Darcy Hordichuk. Hordichuk's sweater tore and it pulled over his head during their fight. Hordichuk was totally blind. Boogaard had free rein to tune Hordichuk up real good, but he stopped throwing punches and nodded at the linesmen to come in. That was when my opinion of him did a 180 degree turn. Boogaard couldn't skate, he couldn't score, he couldn't do much of anything except be a good team-mate and fight, but he was a decent human being. RIP Boogey.

    Congratulations to the Sharks

First of all -- it's very difficult to take someone seriously who just signed up on this forum the day after the Wings were eliminated from the playoffs and who is now bashing Wings fans. Secondly, you made a serious mistake by generalizing. I'm not a Wings fan but I know enough of them that I consider them to be among the best in the NHL. While your point did have merit and the parallel you drew was a decent one, it applied to the guy you quoted, not the general populace. Thirdly, generalizing like that and expecting Wings fans to be all warm and cuddly and respectful is a losing proposition. You will reap what you sow -- but on your first day here you've planted nothing but a big crop of turds.

Now that is 24 carat comedy gold.

WCSF Game 7 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Sharks 3

Gord on the TSN panel with a real groaner... "Neil Young in attendance searching for a Marleau goal."

WCSF Game 7 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Sharks 3

At the 11:30 mark of the second period you could feel the tide turn; right before the Wings penalty. The tide went from slack to running in the Wings favour. You could actually feel it, smell it and touch it. Then, the penalty kill was huge. I knew if the Wings could get one goal in the period that they can win this game. The Sharks are in defensive mode and the game is now the Wings for the taking.

Recent TSN feature on the green men. My favourite part is the two little girls (I think) dressed up as green men for Halloween. Right near the end. OP, how could you rob them of their heroes!!!

Vancouver Media already playing "wings too old" card

Canucks notes for the day Yesterday I reported here that Manny Malhotra skated on a Canucks day off with Jeff Tambellini. Canucks nation going wild. Today, Malhotra participated in full practice and centred the fourth line on line rushes. Canucks nation going insane. Mike Gillis told the Team 1040: "It is extremely unlikely that Manny will be avavilable for these playoffs" -- but Gillis did not clarify if that means the upcoming series or the entire playoffs (if the Canucks should make it to the finals). It should also be noted that Gillis said something similar about one day before Sami Salo returned to the Canucks line-up. Henrik Sedin missed today's practice. There is a lot of speculation (supported by some evidence) that Henrik is injured; possibly a hip injury. Ryan Kesler was on "JIm Rome is Burning" today. Pretty standard fare; nothing to see here folks. Move along.

Sorry, but it was just my way of telling you to loosen your collar and lighten up a little. Not to mention that you should stop worrying about what goes on in Vancouver. LadyInRed -- the Christmas wish list for Brian Burke is my all-time favourite.

If I'm not mistaken they have admitted to as much. I have no problem with it. Imitation/flattery thing. Oh yeah!!! Well if my big brother is there he will beat you up!

Fortunately though -- no one here is stepping on the ice in San Jose tonight.

    Are we ready for this?

Hell, I was talking game 2 not game 3. I was on the GDT and couldn't believe it. You guys hadn't even played on home ice yet. I stayed clear of the game 3 GDT in case suicide is somehow contagious. But I have to be perfectly honest. Even I would have had my doubts after game 3. I wouldn't have unlocked my gun safe, but I wouldn't have been too happy either.

    Are we ready for this?

What a difference a week or so makes. During game 2 a lot of you guys were looking for a rope, a chair and a strong rafter. Now you've all loosened the noose and stepped down off the chair. I freaking TOLD you guys. Failure can be every bit as fleeting as success. The Wings are in the driver's seat now.

Three things the OP will never be: 1. A clown at a kid's birthday party. 2. Dressed up as Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. 3. First to get an invitation to a party.

I'm fairly convinced we're playing the Wings Hank. In San Jose I just saw a team that folded up shop in game 6. Contrast that with the Canucks dominating the Hawks in their game 6 all the way into overtime but then losing on one of those "WTF" type of goals. The Sharks are ripe for the picking tonight. They're broken and beaten. Their butt-holes are going to be tighter than a snare drum tonight. Get it done.

Brief biology lesson for you landlubbers about orcas. There are two different subspecies in BC: transients and residents. Transients feed on mammals like dolphins and seals whereas residents are mainly salmon eaters. I've seen two amazing events involving transient orcas. The first was in Port Hardy Bay (northern tip of Vancouver Island) when a pod was hunting white-sided dolphins. They herded them into a shallow corner of the bay like a sheepdog herding sheep, except with the orcas it got very bloody after that. I watched from a crew boat - no camera on me. The second time I was also on a crew boat about 15 minutes out of Port Hardy. A pod of orcas in the distance was acting strangely so we approached. As we got closer we could see that they had isolated a California sea lion bull and were "playing" with it. There were a couple of youngsters in the pod and the adults were teaching the youngsters how to hunt and kill. They were pushing the sea lion around with their noses and batting the poor bastard 20 feet into the air with their tales. And this sea lion weighed probably about 800 pounds. It was amazing to watch. The sea lion would disappear and you'd think it was all over - then he'd reappear gasping for breath and an orca would take another run at him. This went on so long that we actually had to leave because we were running way late for work. Again, no camera onboard. Sidenote: When this was all going on we were urging the crew boat skipper to get closer but he refused. The reason he gave was that if the sea lion saw us he would try to use our boat for shelter. He said it had happened once before and the sea lion actually tried to crawl up on the transom. He said the orcas surrounded his boat and it got a little "freaky". He also said you've never seen "true panic" until you look into the eyes of a sea lion that's being f***ed with by a dozen transient orcas.

Just heard from Steve Nash on the Vancouver Whitecaps broadcast that Manny Malhotra skated today for the first time since his injury. http://www.theprovince.com/sports/Malhotra+skates+rumour+mill+spins/4767286/story.html?cid=megadrop_story http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/globe-on-hockey/manny-sighting/article2018864/?utm_medium=feed&utm_source=feedburner&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheGlobeAndMail-Front+%28The+Globe+and+Mail+-+Latest+News%29

They love quoting a ridiculous article that was posted a couple of years ago on Spike TV of all places. It claims Canucks fans are the fifth worst in all of sports. Problem is, it's an opinion and the writer is a Flames fan. But they sure do love that article. I mean WTF? That great bastion of NHL support that is Spike TV? That's the same network that claims everything is true in its "1,000 ways to die" episodes -- but no woman has ever died when her fake **** blew up on an airplane. Who is "they"?

I hate getting drawn into these types of arguments, but those odds are probably superior to any other seed. Nearly one in four. Don't see how that helps your argument. Having said that, I don't give a flying f*** about the President's Trophy beyond the fact that it gives you home ice advantage.
