if we can get him cheap enough due to the fact that he wants to go to a winning team (and we are/will be the best in the league) just let him ride the pine til the first round and let him play until he tears something. no harm no foul if he comes cheap and isn't reliable. worth the risk i'd say....

well as long as crosby keeps scoring the game winner in the 3rd round of a shootout after a great game in which he had an assist on his teams only goal, the "all hail the great and powerful crosby" talk will not stop. it doesn't bother me too much although i can see where some would get annoyed. great game. great finish. Crosby is good. and if talking him up until were blue in the face brings more fans to hockey, so be it. now on to Mich Florida. GO BLUE.

does anyone know how much tix for this game were (ballpark)? at the same time i would kill to be there because this doesn't happen often and its hockey at its best, it looks like you wouldn't be able to see much of anything from the seats. they're a good 60-70 feet or so from the ice. not saying it wouldn't be worth the money but i wonder how the view compares to a normal game.

theodore's is by far the most impressive. behind the red line, backhand with the goal stick and in. amazing. the ones where the goalie made a save and then some retard on the other team puts it in his own net are lame. cool for lem but not nearly as exciting.

my best guess would be 700-800 mounted on a decent boot, being that top skates now fetch 550 or something stupid like that, its not out of the question that they will costs that much or more if they catch on.

do you REALLY think that bad calls aren't made EVERY SINGLE EFFING NIGHT BY THE OFFICIALS. you are less compitent than i thought if you HONESTLY believe that the call on hasek (if we assume it was entirely legal) was the FIRST time in the history of the NHL that a call was made undservedly. i bet you anything i could watch a NON-WINGS game and pick 1-2 calls that were terrible. TERRIBLE. i love hudler. and i think he's a great asset to the wings. and i think in 2-3 years he could put up 75-80 pts. However, i don't think that will be because he scored 35G 45A. i think it will look more like 25-28G and 50-55A. i just feel his size limits his ability to pound his way into the zone. thats not to say you have to be a bruiser (there are 100 forwards that dismiss that assumption), but his physicality might be a hinderence. heres to hoping he proves me wrong and nets 50 some day! what a game for him tonight. great job huds.

my 2 cents: i dont think ANY players in ANY sport think when they have to make a split second decision: "well my team is ahead by ___ points. i guess i'll let up a little. i mean i could make the best play possible and have it be a little risky, but ill sit this one out because were winning." BULLs***. anyone who thinks that is mental. dom saw one of the best players in the league skating in alone and said he's gonna beat me if he has time, i'm gonna slide and try to take the puck. he does it all the time. was the two min deserved? eh. i dont know. at the same time i think its the right move to make, sometimes the best move is against the rules. im ok with the fact that he took two minutes to save a goal. i also wouldn't mind it not being called. dirty? i still don't understand how a stacked team like OTT manages to lose a shootout against any nhl team let alone tampa. but hey, the wings suck D in SO and we are the best team in hockey at this point so who knows. Dallas still cleans up in the SO though. when bettman decides the SO needs to be in the playoffs is the year the stars win it all...

i'm not gonna lie. i think this goal is stupendous. and if not for the great head fake and move to the backhand, then a top shelf shot, simply THE ANGLE at which it was done was impressive. he was maybe 2-3 feet from the red line and managed to hit the corner. thats insane. just my 2 cents.

if he said it, which i sort of doubt, it must have been to make it easier for him to cope with the fact that he simply could not compete at the level he used to be able to. i have not heard a single ex-pro athlete say he in no way shape or form misses playing his respective game. hell i miss playing and i'm just a weekend warrior who's local rink got bought out.

Zeke. i have a plan. We'll get babs on the horn and let them know that either A) the players need to score more per chance taken or B) pass up the boring run of the mill chances and get more of what i will call RRGSC (really really great scoring chances). that way when we look at the RRGSC totals and the wings put 90% of those in the net, we can be satisfied. i think the wings just need to ease up on the pressure in the opposing zone and really only expell energy on breakaways and 4 on 1s. that way we can bring up that treacherous percentage of scoring chances actually converted up to par.

maybe its just me but i think the wings have a good, NO GREAT, shot at making the playoffs for the next 5 seasons. now whether or not they will make it past round 1 or 2 i cant say. but i do believe that they will miss the post season in 2011/2012 at the earliest. and no this is not sarcasm. i think we are that deep. maybe blind and biased optimism but still. its how i roll when the wings are the topic of discussion.... ps: last night made me want sergei back. not for his ridiculous salary but still...
