i was thinking the exact same thing. and 4-0 is a substantial enough lead. however, the ducks are a great club, capable of making a 4-0 game quite close. coaches most likely wanted to make sure this thing was dead, burried, and six feet under, which is exactly what happened. great job nhl.... FINALLY. 2 games would have fit the crime but thats wishful thinking i guess. we'll take the one and see if we can't make them pay. LETS GO RED WINGS!!!

ok, i'm from san diego and im in detroit on vacation til tomorrow. my dad is a detroit native and thats why im a wings fan. he'd been to HAs before but i'd never been so i had to go this time. AND BOY WAS I GLAD I DID!!! its 5,000 square feet of pure wings bliss. game used sticks jerseys pucks hats shirts, you name it. it was everything i wanted and more. heres what i got (with prices). KOHO Fischer jersey (authentic on ice style with fight strap, but his first #8) $50. (best deal in the store) 2 wings pint beer glasses (one with dats and one with zetter, both with wings logos) $3 each ZETTER bobble head $5. Wings "Captains shirt" with lids yzer and shanny, $5. New Era MLB style 59/50 pro fitted wings hat, $27. HUGE wings logo sticker for my back window of my car, $5. so i made out like a bandit for around 100 bucks. coolest thing in the store??? tie between a signed cambell all star Yzerman jersey ($750) and the 20-30 game used wings sticks (from 50 bucks for HUDS and LEBDA to 350 for the dats RBK "O" stick). OVERALL: 5 stars awesome and a must see for any fan. you wont be dissapointed!

I WAS AT THE GAME TONIGHT!!!! LOWER BOWL ROW 16 SECTION 100 RIGHT BEHIND HASEK IN THE FIRST AND THIRD. what a game. plain and simple exciting hockey. things didn't go our way but what a great game to watch. (oh and my aunt got the tickets free from her company when a corporate guy dumped them to take his mom out for mothers days 230 a peice face value and we had 4 of em. just awesome.) i see a lot of people bitching about ducks goal #3, that one actually looked legit on the big screen (but i couldn;t see if he was pushed from the angles they showed). the one that shouldn't have counted IMO was ducks goal #2. they showed 3 angels and none of them looked difinitive to me. yeah the puck looked as though it went it but could you say with 100% certainty? no way. oh well. and if dom didn't put up a wal when the ducks fired on all cylinders in the first the game wouldn't have been close. he played really well IMO. well get them in anaheim. im preety confident (not cocky though) of that fact.

so far injuries include... homer. lebda. schneids. bert. and those are only the players hurt in the playoffs. not including pecky and kronner. its safe to say (IMO) that the wings D is decimated by injuries. having two guys on the blueline with little or NO nhl experience? iche. not good.

actually having the game on at 3 est is the norm. thats why they put the game on at 2 instead. i dont think they could go any earlier since the sharks are involved and west coasters might ***** about having hockey on at 9 am. i really hope you are correct heaton when you say versus will pick up the OT if necessary. (wings will win 5-1 tho so not to worry....)

yeah ill hop on the NYR v. DRW for finals bandwagon. pretty much the nhls top two US markets for hockey and two original 6. that would be damn sweet. plus i think the wings would man handle them...

lids hands down. come on people. take this for example: one of your kids brings home straight A's every class for 10 years. then one day he slips up and gets a B-. and you tell him "what the hell happened? this isn't the end of the world but lets try and bring that up to an A". then you have another kid who is mildly retarded and gets nothing but C's. one day he does super great on a test and brings home a B. you then say "WOW kid. you did real good. all that hard work is really paying off. great work. were going out for ice cream and new wings jerseys!!!" such is the case here. when lids isn't super human and doesn't block every shot the opposition takes, he gets railed by everyone. then lilja steps up and starts playing really well. far better than any of us thought. it doesn't mean lids sucks, just he made a couple less than his usual superman plays and lilja isn't a traffic cone. in summary: LIDS IS STILL THE BEST WINGS PLAYER ON THE ICE. anyone that says any different is wrong. i'm in san diego. therefore, i get to see all the west coast games at "normal" time and all the midwest/east coast games nice and early (usually 4/4:30). gotta say, it aint half bad. if i was back east i wouldn't miss a single play though. thats just what you do if your a fan. you just gotta. i remember being up til who knows how late when a flyers game went to 4 ots in 02 or something. i made it longer than my dad and woke up to hear bill clement yelling that it was all over. oh glorious playoff hockey....

as someone far more intelligent than i already stated, the rangers game went into double OT last night and the rangers won. now i pose this question to you: DO YOU THINK THE RANGERS CAN STICK WITH THE SABRES FOR AN ENTIRE PERIOD OF 4 ON 4 HOCKEY??? IMO hell no. 4 on 4 means speed equals goals. the sabres would have so many 3 on 2s and 2 on 1s shannys head would spin. that game would have been over in 4-5 shifts. of course im being a bit of a homer and exagerating, but come on. the faster team has a distinct advantage 4 on 4. keep things the way they are. i love the shootouts now, but i still wish i never got to see one in the NHL. (does that make any sense??? i dont think it belongs in the game, but to attract fans is exciting ect. ect.)
