I know kenny is all about depth and veteran leadership and whatnot but how long do helm and leino have to sit in GR before they get a shot to make a career out of their abilities? williams and now bertuzzi? they both had their shots with this team and stats aside, i remember NOT winning cups with them. I feel the same way about howard. I hope jimmy sees 25+ games this year. and prospers. IDK time will tell. I would have liked to have seen a few mil saved up for a decent deadline acquisition, to sort of jumpstart a cup finals bound team. you know, like a corey cross.

And i feel that is the case here. Hossa Looked WORSE than his playoff stats indicate IMO. you can talk til you're blue in the face about how only X amt of wings had more points than him. Who cares. He didn't elevate his game like a tyler kennedy or a maxime talbot or a matt cooke. He wasn't half as good in the playoffs this year as he was in the last. Why? im not quite sure. I do think it has a bit to do with the fact that the wings are much deeper from 1st line to 4th and im sure he felt like some pressure was taken off him to rack up points, knowing his team mates would step up. He failed to realize that everyone around him just hoisted the cup and didnt want it nearly as bad as he did. In addition, dats looked better than hoss in every game in the playoffs he played in but 1 or 2. regardless of point production. he knows how to play d and singlehandedly stimulate a forecheck. Injury: if he was too hurt to produce, you sit. plain and simple. I feel the same way about draper. I dont know about anyone else, but through round 3 and the first two games of round 4, i felt abdelkader was one of the best forwards on the team, not to mention his 2 goals in two games. then he sat for draper (one goal in a 2-1 loss is meaningless). dump hossa unless he takes another HUGE paycut. we definitely didnt get 7+ mil worth. and anyone who thinks we did missed a few days in econ.

I do. in modern society it has come to mean "stupid/lame/depressing/unfortunate". it's slang. after all, the true grassroots definition of *** is: "carefree", "happy", or "bright and showy", not homosexual. get over it. I have plenty of *** friends and none of them take offense to it. If i meant that someone was a homosexual and used to be offensive, that's one thing. But i don't. and i dont think many people in general do either. but i digress. hossa is in a slump. it happens. best believe when we see his old team in the final, he's going to be on fire. he didn't sign with the wings and leave pitt to lose to them in the finals. i know that much.

i can take some negativity after a loss. but you guys are bunch of jackasses if you think this game is a massive indication that the wings are f*cked and going to lose the next 3 games in a row. pull your heads out of your asses. we played hlaf the game shorthanded. they only scored one on the PP. we showed we can come back from 3 goals down. we missed kronner on D. they will suck it up and end it in 5. you guys are pathetic. hockeycrazy with the only positive post in an entire page. disgusting.

fuuuuuuuuck yes. i just cussed at my computer for 20 minutes as i fell asleep 3 hours before the game and missed the first and second periods. but we won. ill watch the replay tomorrow.

we give 100% 5 on 5---> they take penalties because thats what they do against slower teams----> our dominating PP.. well... dominates them----> we win easily. its that easy. more effort on forchecks= powerplays. the ducks will hack and slash like they did in the 3rd of game 3 and we will hit paydirt. get gritty, get the legs moving and we cannot lose. (unless the refs step in again). PLEASE!!! IM IN SOUTHERN CALI AND THE GAME IS BLACKED OUT. EVEN ON CENTER ICE. alex is a funny guy and a jokester. he is good for the game no matter what he does (within reason of course). This happens after EVERY SINGLE Touchdown in Football and no one says s***. And you can say well hockey players are classy and football players are criminals and ******* show offs, ect ect. and this is true to some extent. BUT, would you rather have some showmanship, or have the NHL fall to the 10th most popular sport in america with empty arenas all over the country. The players in the NHL will always have more class than anyother sport IMO. If a guy wants to pull a sharpie out of his skate and sign a stick and give it to a fan in the first row, i will laugh and applaud it. Its not disrespectful, its celebratory. I would define disrespect as the guy pointing to the other team making a "golf swing" with his stick and taunting the entire bench for missing the playoffs. No need for that in the game, but a little excitement is ok. IMO this is why tiger woods is the most recognizable athelete in America (arguably). He took a quiet gentlemans game and turned it up a notch without crossing the line. he shows his emotions. atheletes are humans too. let them have fun.

wow. i would think svard would hand him an ass kicking too. maybe not. i have never felt crosby was a ***** or whatever. a few times ive seen him step up and drop the gloves (usually to no avail). I like the kid. Do i hate the fact that every hockey analyst has been sucking him off since 95', of course. but that isnt his fault. he seems humble, and of course loaded with talent. always glad to see stories like this and i hope it changes the minds of a few "crosby is a sissy asshat blah blah blah"-ers.

I think the interesting thing to look at here is whether we have a better shot at re-signing hossa if we A) repeat as champs or B) fail to hoist the cup. I'm thinking B. Hossa came here because we have the best shot at winning the cup right? I think if he does win it, he goes to the highest bidder. But lets say we put up a valiant effort but bow out in the WCF or the SCF, hossa might still think we are the team with the best shot. idk. just food for thought. on topic: hossa. duh. unless he costs 4+ million more than mule you gotta land hossa. oh and goal tending. start conks, dump ozzie after this year and bring up Howard. the guy has been on ise for too long...

dont get me wrong. im glad the wings are winning. so im not doing a begging AND choosing thing or whatever. BUT.. this has to be the WORST officiated game ive seen all year long. bar none. just absolutely wretched. it should be 6-1. that being said, this game has been exciting from start to finish. these games are pure entertainment. this is the NHL's shining moment. new years day every year from now on. once a season in outdoor stadiums around the country. good work NHL. you got this one right...

i'll be shocked if the sharks make it past round 2. why you ask? because i can't recall without looking it up last time they did it. they ALWAYS look great in the regular season. and they are a great hockey club, no doubt there. but the real test rolls around in june and thus far, the sharks have C/C+'s in the last few seasons. hence the reason i still think the wings are in great position to make a cup run (reg season dont mean jack once you make the playoffs...)

signing a new goalie? no. starting a new one? absolutely. i am in huge favor of making conklin numero UNO until ozzie gets his head out of his ass. dont get me wrong, ozgood is a great goalie. STILL is. but like he needed in the playoffs last year, a wakeup call that says " hey moron! you aren't gonna be #1 unless you steal it back!" our d has not been stellar and some goals are "unstopable" but you need to stand on your head now and again and he simply has not. we need to get some fresh YOUNG talent in net up and going too. where is howard. i want howard.
