SUSPENDED? really? come on. for that? i feel that someone could do a lot worse without even seeing a fine? thats funny. and it would have made for a much better tilt. i neither hate nor love avery. he's just "that guy" of the NHL. plus, he designs dresses and purses, so im sure he takes as much s*** as he dishes out.
-
raffi with the BIG BOW THROW. lovin it. bleed sucka, bleeeeed. wings win. i am happy. good fight, good night. at least this 1 goal win came after we went down 2 tallies. that showed some heart.
-
saw that coming. but the net was both not flush with the ice AND he kicked it in. just once i'd like to see the wings win 10-2 just so i know they can. or get blown out 10-2 for that matter. they need to wake up.
-
kicked in. he made it look like he was stopping then gave it a shove in the net. should be no goal but i think they'll let it stand.

DAAAA GOOAAAALLLLLIEEEE is pissed. damn. i love it. way to throw his ass off his game. tampa D coached by melrose is back to form and has more holes swiss cheese again. i'm in history of heavy metal class at UCSD right now and smiling from ear to ear.
-
hell yeah! it really works. even on my mac! so stoked. thank you so much for this. quality is wonderful for free and they have EVERY game. lovin it. book marked.
-
i must say, i do fancy the "throwback" look. 219 doll hairs? no thanks. but i do like em.
-
i love the hits kronner brings to the table, but you gotta admit he leaves his feet on 50% of those body shattering blows. eliminate that and he is lethal, AND completely legal. as for the sutter/weight hit. hit of the year thus far and 100% w/o question legal and good for the game.

ozzy had no chance. lids was doggin it all lazy like. man up on that *****. not to worry, LA will find a way to lose.

just heard this on the sabres broadcast. so incredibly sad and shocking. too too young. Something needs to be done so at WORST, the outcome is like that of fisch. get those external defibs at EVERY SPORTING EVENT site. players 18+ playing at this high a level under this much stress and pressure should be protected. my thoughts and prayers are with alex's family and friends. -
yeah i'm switching back and forth as well. i missed what i assume was a decent brawl? like 3-4 game misconducts and 5-6 5 for fighting majors? pissed i missed it.

Hossa gets on the chart with 1G1A tonight. could care less other than that because the wings are gonna win. i mean have you seen the canes 3rd jerseys? jeebus they're nasty. leave the black jersey ship fellas. its depressing.

Ryan Hollweg suspended two games and another three games

this sonofabitch needs a wake up call in life. like a "you will never play american hockey again" type wake up call. buh-bye. i am watching the game now and not only did the hit put another players health at risk (as he has done many a time before), it cost his team the lead. I would love for the leafs to cut him and no other team give him an ice cubes chance in hell of making a roster. heres to the blues winning this one... -
HA! the two biggest jokes on that list IMO are Vanek at TEN MILLION DOLLARS and Khabibulin at 6+. wow. the sabers and hawks are taking it in the keester right there. not because they suck, but because they're worth half that. as for hossa/mule: for the money keep mule. if the cap goes up and it only costs us a lesser player, keep em both. if hossa wants 8.5+, buh-bye. we do have have players that finish as well if not better than he does, but if we can squeeze him in and have 3 instead of 2, why not.

Hašek looks to return (that didn't take long)
sergei_is_still_a_wing replied to shadow47's topic in General
I agree with your statement 100%. That is not the point i was trying to make. Players should be aloud to play as long as they'd like if a team will pick them up. What i have an issue with is players retiring and un-retiring down the line. It leaves teams in limbo and is unfair both to that organization and others within the sport who may be affected by it. Retire: you are done for life in that league. End of story. By all means go all Gordie howe on your sport and play til your 60. I dont have a problem with that. But when you say you're done, you should be DONE. it will force them to make a real decision the first time around. -

as long as he never sees ice time on an NHL rink again, i'm cool with it. BUT, i am more than fed up with players retiring then un retiring. Salanne, Neidermeyer, Jordan, Seau, Favre. Jesus where does it end. I for one am all for forcing players in all 4 major sports to sign a legally binding contract, stating that no man who has officially and undeniably retired shall ever play in that major sport ever again. End of story. None of this, "oh, i was forced into retirement by my team. I wasn't sure so i just said i was retired. I needed the rest cus i'm old." bulls***. This would force players to really evaluate whether or not they want to give up the game forever. And i guarantee you they would not make the mistake of retiring early. if you even have doubts of giving it up when you know/think you could still be competitive, give it a shot. or don't. but no more of the string along BS. after favre, i'm sick of it... -
USA Today: Red Wings are obvious #1, but...
sergei_is_still_a_wing replied to Shutemdown's topic in General
"signing Ovechkin to 13 years was shrewd. He eventually will be to the Washington Capitals what Gordie Howe was to the Red Wings." BOLD statement. No team should expect everyone else to roll over when they are the favorite. if you do you will lose and you are naive. that said, we have the best squad in the league. end of story. 100% effort everynight and we are unbeatable IMO. HELL YES! went to the bolts/seashawks preseason game last night. looking forward to watching LT cram the ball down everyones throat this year. -
IS there? i find that hard to believe. It is most likely more about the chinese using less than fair tactics in order to win gold medals (IE the 12 yr old gymnast. even most chinese people don't buy that she's 16. she looks 7). although i'd have to read the thread. Note: If you eliminate all sports in these olympics that are decided by a judge of anysort (ie, boxing, gymnastics, diving, synch. swimming, GR wrestling ect.) and thus take away medals won from all countries in those events, The US is dominating in over all medals and would be leading China by 3-4 Golds. Coincidence that China, the host country, has almost twice as many golds as any other country? you be the judge. [These stats came from a Yahoo column a day or 2 ago]. i'm sure the "we hate china" sentiment has more to do with this type of stuff than "we hate the chinese as a race"

My dad grew up on 13 mile and woodward in ferndale. end of story. you don't watch hockey with a dad from detroit and root for anyone but the wings. man am i glad my dad wasn't born in chicago... hehe. He moved to san diego where we live now in the early 80's. other than that i really got hooked in the early 90's when i was a tot of around 6 or 7. watching sergei evolve into a top 5 forward was just astonishing. i wish a remembered more specifics. i came around with the 2002 dream team more than anything. haven't missed a wings/kings game in LA since 2003. Even if those are the only 2 wings games a year i get to see in person, i can get by. Wings/Ducks Game 2 WCF's 2007 at the Joe made me a fan for LIFE tho. Dbl overtime loss, but man was that exciting. The Joe was nuts. Grandma still lives at 13/Woodward by the way on flowerdale. Love you grams...

is it just me or do rants/threads/comments like that happen FAR less on these boards then on any other. The only players i see this happening to (ie: we rip a guy a new one) is when an individual does something on the ice that is either dirty, childish, or overall unacceptable (tootoo, pronger, mcsorely, bertuzzi, mclennan goalie slash ect). Aside for a general hate for crosby (more so about the media blowing his dong not about him as a person/player) i feel we are quite controlled in our "hatred" of individuals. maybe i'm biased towards our team/boards, but i feel that we generally have a let it slide attitude about things like this, or AT LEAST, half of us take one side and half take the other. over there, it looks like one guy says "chelios just wants to take the worlds greatest trophy back to his hometown, not rub it in our faces" where as everyone else is hoping he's hit by a train. real mature.

I WAS PWNED BY THAT!!! haha OsGod, you are correct in being skeptical that one would recieve anything at all for 22 bucks. its a valid pt. i guess i was just saying that if you did receive some sort of wings jersey, 22 would be a good deal even if its a POS. Note: i once purchased a CCM close to authentic Feds jersey on ebay. Sewn on letters/#'s and logos (including NHL shield and tiny winged wheel at bottom of the back) and fight strap. I got it shipped to my door for $13.90. FOURTEEN BUCKS. i opened it and couldn't believe it. it was legit. some times good things aren't quite too good to be true...

although i will not be purchasing one b/c i just don't need anymore wings jerseys... Who cares if it is fake. sure if you are paying nearly the same price as a real one, you most definitely should get the real deal. but $22? come on. like someone stated, thats cheaper than a wings shirt. if you like the jersey get it. quality and authenticity aside, no one would ever know but you that its not the real deal. i have a couple pairs of fake NIKE SB's (didn't want to shell out $400 on ebay) and even sneakerheads can't tell the difference.
