embellisher? absolutely. diver? nah. THIS is a dive. i remember watching this live. they show a better angle (possibly from behind floppa) and the nucks players stick never even touches him. I MEAN AT ALL. it came inches from his leg but no closer. you must have some sort of peripheral vision to pick that up and then have the juevos to go for the slide. unreal. unless its blatently a dive, embellishing is a good strategic move for your team to go a man up. do i like it? no. do i think it belongs in hockey? no. but it is what it is. if dats takes a dive and on the insuing PP we score the cup clincher i'd love it. its one of the many things that you love when they go your way and hate when it goes against you. and please, don't anyone say if we score on a PP caused by a red wing player diving/embellishing you would hate it. because you are a liar. edit: still dont know how to embed youtube vids! i suck...

i believe another LGWer had mentioned earlier that if the stars win tonight/this morning (haha) that the first game of the wings series would be tuesday at 7pm EST. does anyone know if that would change depending on how long the game goes? i mean i would find it hard to believe that if this thing went something insane like 6 OTs that they would give Dallas just 40-42 hours rest. with travel time, thats pretty harsh. not complaining. hell i'd have em start tomorrow. just wondering...

can someone please explain to me why pavelski's skate forced a multiple minute long stoppage? put in another winger/center and drop the puck? unless the sharks committed an icing and he was a skater on the line that MUST remain on the ice, i dont see the issue there....

touche! ahhh. i guess whichever way you look at the stats you gotta feel the wings have the edge having trounced a team most picked to beat them. after watching the pens today i honestly believe the wings are the best team in hockey and its up to them to prove it! that said, go stars.

i don't like the thought of the sharks in round 3 one bit. i know you have to play the best to be the best and sip from lord stanley. BUT we own the stars. always have always will. the sharks on the other hand would be the most energized team in hockey in the last 33 years (last time an NHL team came back from 3-0 to win a series, 1975 islanders). note: of the 3 teams to ever come back from a 3-0 series deficit to win 4 staraight, 1942 Leafs, 1975 Ilses and the 2004 red sox The leafs and red sox went on to win their respective sports championships that year.

the penguins are still pretty damn good as far as i'm concerned and will give the eventual WC champion a good run for their money. however, they don't quite have the defense to take them the distance IMO. todays game attested to that. plenty of guys to put the puck away, but mental lapses on D cost the pens the lead. i'm hoping the pens win the conference as it would be great for the game. also hoping the stars lose tonight and win game 7 (or win tonight). either way their confidence has been rattled enough to the point that they wouldn't give the wings too much trouble.

i disagree. i think he made a distinct shooting motion with his stick on the backhand, intending to put the puck on net. whether or not it was blind luck he caught rubber with his blade or he saw the puck and roofed it intentionally is a moot point as far as i am concerned. not as razzle dazzle at nash or toews goals but certainly required the same skill set.

comin out of the woodwork when the abilities of a blue jacket is called into question huh? haha. just messin with ya. i think the rick nash goal appears more impressive (and it might be) because he simply OWNED two d mean and a goalie by himself. stick flailing trying to do anything to stop the guy and no dice. ridiculous goal. the goal by hank is insane as well as he could not see the net, possibly even blind to where the puck and goalie are, and still ROOFED THE s*** out of it. amazing. i give the edge to nash just because it was more fun to watch. all long and drawn out with the puck on a string. he could have been out there for days schooling yotes it seemed. but that goal by hank was by far the best goal in the playoffs from all the games i can recall.

if anything it looks like sakic kinda jumped back out of the way to avoid the collision. i see nothing that looks cheap shot-ish. just a hockey play i'd never think twice about. "If franzen didn't have his head up, that would have been the end of his playoffs if not next year. There was no reason Sakic should have done that. *Respect down*" i simply do not understand how one could ascertain that sort of a conclusion from the video i just saw. but hey. to each his own. no hit. nothing blatantly obvious that would show the league malicious intent to injure. life goes on...

i shall reserve all judgment, as i always do, until i have seen the video. but i have heard no mention of this until seeing it on LGW. i hope for hockey's and sakic's sake that it is a misinterpretation of the play. (not that any of you are liars, but maybe he was looking away from franzen as he was making a turn or something. im just trying to stay optomistic as sakic is the ONE player on the avs i tolerate as he has been a decent ambassador for the sport). thank god whatever the case is, that franzen escaped contact.

(and realize that im stating this for the sake of argument and no way does colorado have an ice cubes chance in hell of turning things around, BUT) the ONE chance they had at making history by coming back from 3-0 has now been dashed. starting theodore AGAIN might be the single worst coaches decision ever made since i can remember paying attention to sports. come on. something is obviously needed to jump start a team that is, well, f***ed. and a change in net might give the home town fans something to cheer for and possibly one last victory before being dismantled in game 5. but no. if i were an avs fan i would be livid. that being said, nothing brings me more joy than watching my wings be the avs. so if you would like to run your organization into the ground quinney, keep up the good work! it just baffles me that budaj hasn't been the started since game 3...
