he can say/do just about anything as far as i'm concerned. i'll watch simply to see what suit he'll bring out next! pure comedy. as physical as other series? maybe not. but to say players avoided eachother is just plain wrong. when the euros with visors on the team are throwing shoulders, they aren't trying to dance around.

at the same time that i appreciate the passion, i can't imagine being stoked if the city went up in flames b/c the ______ hockey team won the cup. 1 million people getting wasted and slightly rowdy at the victory parade sure. but dont light s*** on fire and have stuff collapse and injure people. unnecessary. i'm sure you all feel somewhat as i do. but i do see where everyone is coming from with the "love the passion" angle. i do too. i tell some people im a wings fan and they think its arena football on occasion. :blink: <_<

been wondering the same thing for a while now. good old google gave me this... A shot on goal in the NHL is any shot that would go into the net had the GOALIE not stopped it. This means shots off posts that do not go into the net are not shots on goal. Shots that hit the bar first and then go in without first touching the goalie are considered shots. note: Most scorekeepers count shots that a goalie saves with the majority of his body in the crease as shots, regardless of whether or not they would have gone wide or not. that should clear it up. makes sense. i mean if your taking shooting practice with no keeper and hit the crossbar and it bounces away, the shot didn't really ever have a chance of going in. where as a drifter from your own zone shot 120ft. straight down the middle could go in if the goalie has a brain fart (cough cough ellis' bad break cough). PEACE!

"ESPN isn't picking up NHL until 2009-2010" is that a set in stone done deal that hockey will be returning to ESPN? granted the hockey coverage on espn is wretched. BUT i guarantee its still better than vs. and NBC. thorne and clement would be music to my ears. whenever i watch old wings coverage of the avs rivalry and they're calling the games, it just sounds so epic.

some would say (and they are not necessarily wrong) that the reason our shot totals are so high is that we take a ton of shots at the goalies logo and shots from the blueline unscreened. this is true. we do. however, the puck can't go in if it doesn't get near the net. just look at lids today, 100 footer finds twine. the shots we don't take can't go in so by all means shoot away SAMMY.

salary cap-----> no ryan miller. not a chance. unless we dumped some talent to get him. which IMO is giving more than were getting. lets wait til ozzy gives up more than 1 goal in 154 min to fetch a new netminder.
