Anson Carter = the black Mikael Samuelsson. We already got one.

Hasek being the starter, 42 years old, fragile like a twig and FORTY ******* POUNDS LIGHTER THAN EMERY might have something to do with it? Otherwise, I agree with your post.

I'm of another philosophy - if the opponents target our stars, I want the Wings to target every last one of them. Their stars, their goalie, their water boy, their medic crew. Heck, climb the booth and beat up their PBP guys. If the Wings had enforcers, they should not attack the other team's goons.. that's pointless. The people you need to rough up are their weak spots, their gamebreakers. Balance of terror. Screw the code! :octo: Heinc noeum lex.

Miller, Rivet, Salvador (well hrrm), etc... there should be guys available. I Fully agree. Kronwall/Lebda was our best D-pairing last playoffs. A strong defensive defenseman would be super.

Lang isn't helping out either... imo Williams was at his best playing on the 4th line with Flipper and Hudler.. his speed was an asset there.. The problem with Williams isn't so much that he sucks but that he's awfully redundant on this team. Filppula can basically do everything he can (except shoot R)... and the advent of Grigorenko would make him EVEN more expendable. He's holding up a roster spot that a real role player could take, heck even Norton or Bootland or Langfeld... those guys that can lay a hit. I honestly think that shooting R and a price tg of 1.5M is the only thing standing between Jase and the minors

Shocker stat of the night... although they were buzzing and punching the Wings' nads for an entire period and a half.. both Havlat n Ruutu finished -4. Also, nhl.com sez Wings outhit the Hawks (only saw the first period myself). Anyway, Dats breakaway goal (Havlat burnt his chance) and Zetterberg toppling Keith was kickass.

Not often the Wings score goals like that... hmm... far too seldom. But it was a dandy.
-
one of these days his slappers would hit the back of the net, eh?
-
Even if Hudler is disposable, he should render us more than a broken, injured, confidence-shot former power forward with a history of playoff letdowns... really. Bert for picks or incl. any of our scrub players (Williams, LIlja, etc).

Brian Burke is bitchin' about rental prices too... seems like Kenny ain't the only one.

Funny how Pronger, like five seconds after I've started to respect him as a competitor, makes a total monkey out of himself by laying a Jupiter size crock on a fanatic fanbase like Edmonton... Oh Chrissy P, why do you do the things you do? P.S I wouldn't shed a tear if he was knocked cold by an errant puck

Bourque won the cup the second year in Colorado, not the year he was traded from Boston.. so.. well, he's not a great example. Move back the trade deadline a few weeks and expose the teams who don't feel like competing. You can still have deadline deals, but it'll take more balls to move players when you're still in the chase.

Samuelsson was on pace for around 60 pts this season before getting injured.
-
Cleary is a jack of many trades. If he can't score he can play energy line. He can play checking line. Williams can't do all that.
-
well Fedoruk wanted to go back to Philly bc of family reasons...

It's a ~6M contract.

Prorated over the season it means a little more, no? Anyway. Hmm... a move should be made, but Holland should stay away from the loan sharks in St Louis.

Knuble n Shanny looking in different directions.. SMACK. Wow. Shanny was totally blacked out there for a while.
-
Agreed.

So, he's "back" in California. If he'll be allowed to suit up or not, well, who knows? A fishy story http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=196464&hubname=nhl

Derian Hatcher!

Petrovicky fought a few days ago and practically killed Newbury. Konstantinov fought. The Samuelssons fought (Ulfinator not often). J Ruutu fights at times. The Avs rivalry was about a lot more than just fighting. It was a battle of prestige and the crown of the West (and the league). Neither team is in that spot today. Until both teams are back there, the rivalry will lie dormant.

Bootland is maintaining tradition... he fought Keane in the AHL

Now we're talking. Craig Rivet is another cheapish option (who wouldnt command Schneider even).
