Nashville's record doesn't reflect it's team lately
GuloGulo replied to Earthhuman's topic in General
Unfortunately yes. The one season where getting #1 actuall mattered for this team, it'll be out of reach. Bummer. Now it's all about beating them Sharks or Stars. The way the Sharks have been playing lately (and the way they rolled over vs the Oil) I'm not entirely pessimistic. -
I was skeptical regarding Guerin. While his season has been dynamite, I'm still convinced the guy is pretty much a playoff dud, always was, and always will be. He's still better than any of our current 2nd Line options. If the opportunity rises, Holland should act.
-
Glen Murray is big, soft, lazy and one-dimensional. Worse than Lang for the money. A Guerin guy is what's needed. Perhaps a Drake, Mayers, or similar addition to the checking unit. I'd also like to see a Schneider for bruiser swap.
-
Cuz contrary to popular LGW belief, Holland is not the man who decides whether a guy is to be traded and to which price.
-
Perhaps Holland did not have Parent to offer? Perhaps Holmgren was more interested in that? Perhaps Holland actually feels this team is too weak even with Forsberg, and doesn't want to leave an empty farm behind? Who knows? What does it matter. Deal is done. Holland has to go for another player. As simple as that.
-
Even if that was true... Z is pretty much alone.
-
Wow. Uhm. he sorta dominated (singlehandedly) vs the Sabres last season. But that don't matter. Forsberg is another team's headache now. Our team must get another player and prepare for their journey.
-
Our hopes to survive the 1st round just went up! Think positive.
-
so NOOOW everyone wants Kenny to spend the farm?
-
I'm not surprised. The ONLY reason Holland could've stayed in a race for Foppa would be if Forsberg would single out Detroit as a destination bc of national team allegiances. A bidding war he can't, and shouldn't try to win.
-
Uh oh. Would that mean we're in for 40 years in the desert?
-
Larionov should be higher, took the Sharks past the Wings in '94, was a part of the cup winning Wings teams and scored some pretty huge goals even at ancient age (2002). Kovalchuk and Gonchar are nice and all, but neither are even close to those accomplishments. I'd also like to add Brylin, who's managed to remain on a very demanding Devils teams, albeit in a smaller role than the big russian names. Fetisov is a write-in. Cup winner as a player, cup winner as staff member.

sucks that when our boys at least sacrifice the body a bit, they get injured just like that.
-
Injured players are replacable in terms of cap though
-
Why have Hatcher? Simple. He big, he angry, he seasoned. He can do the stuff Schneider can't.
-
Lids-Markov Kronwall-Hatcher Lebda-Chelios We'd lose a PP boomer, but gain on the PK side. I can live with it.
-
Smyth ain't going nowhere, and you know it.
-
Laraque has NTC, he'd have to agree to it himself.
-
Laraque has an NTC btw.. but I think he'd go to a contender if he could.
-
But if we won against them and unjustly padded our stats, there would be as much whinning anyway...
-
lol fedoruk. nah anyway, this sucked bigtime. after that 5 on 3 the team was pretty much done. the same s*** that struck the Flames yesternight. Just can't play too many games in a row with a depleted lineup and expect constant winning.
-
MacDonald should've had that one.
-
the game is getting chippier by the minute!
-
Smart turtle by Lilja. Too bad they scored shorthanded though.
