It's misleading. The Flyers are playing much stronger hockey now. It won't be a cakewalk, and the goalie DEFINITELY needs to be on his heels. Expect no blowout.

Difference = Lang isn't a big sacrifice at this point. If we even get his value back in form of another player, I'd be surprised. Coffey was expendable thanks to Larry Murphy. Primeau was expendable as there were already 2 franchise centers present and a damn good veteran in Larionov.

Great thread! A suggestion: Can you switch the order in which the trades are listed, so the latest one is on top - means less scrolling.

Flames came back because wings started using 4th liners and Maltby on the PP... ducking around etc. Nothing new. Ha the Wings wanted, they'd run this away. Flames didnt adhere to protocol and tried a comeback. Stuff happens.

Once again, Bert's breakneck thingie wouldn't bother me. What would bother me is if we get Wendel "Mullet that reigned TO" Clark or Brendan "Perimeter man" Shanahan Pt 2. Frankly, Bert hasn't shown to be the dominant power forward he was 5 years ago lately. Power forwards have short shelf lives. Bert's might just be up. But then it might not. How many will defend Holland for gambling on Bert at this point, would he come up short?

Kronwall is not like Lidstrom. He's more a defenseman of the Leetch mold. Attempts to try make him a "shutdown guy" or anything will probably fail. Playing him in this role will likely fail. More offensive freedom and his risky play will - hopefully - render the "gamebreaking" quality.

Don't give a F about Bert's antics. The problem with him aint his history, it'shis future. This is a guy who isn't scoring that much anymore, who isn't playing as physical as he did at his pinnacle, and who's coming off SURGERY. He would be a rental though, so we can ditch his ass if he's a bust.
