Yeah the defense sucked. Yeah they had PP goals. They had 17 shots in a period. But the bottom line is Hasek is unable to steal games at this point. He is no longer elite.

If they can squeeze a point out of this, it ain't too bad. Gotta stay realistic. I'd really want to see Hasek shut the door though. Just once.

Downey has been better than Drake, thats sure. Drake was tried in a more regular role but couldnt hack it. He's a "leadership" passenger on the roster. Nothing else. Lilja wasn't all bad imo. Lebda and Lilja struggled against the Nash-unit, but overall did an ok-ish job along the boards. Our forwards were teh fail in clearing pucks and turning the play. They just got pinned against the boards or tried some lame poke-pass to get out. The puck ended up center zone in Jacket hands far too much for my liking.

The Wings were never in command of this game, unlike the other two. Jackets actually held the edge in play.

Franzen had in much a strong game. Kopecky n Downey didnt participate much, but that might have to do with llast change. Osgood looked like a fool by leaving his crease on the 3rd yet came back with goaltending needed to take the point(s). He could never save that Nash shot, high blocker side. Unsavable.

wow that was a hard fought one, despite the illusionary dominance on the stats pages.. Oilers had some really sharp chances, and I hate how easily they were allowed to gain entry to our zone and set up their cycling. Also, the Oilers found their shooter in the slot _way_ too often for my liking. The positives were that we got scoring from the 2nd line, hard work from just about every player, and some spectacular moves from the top line. Disappointed that Drake didnt drop em... Hasek was good. Roloson was sharp as a razor. The ice was crap and the refs took more hits than either team.
