I think it's a great complement to him that he hasn't really been noticed. I mean when your sharing alot of ice with Lids, your going to be playing second fiddle and rightly so. But to have gone this far in the playoffs, with the GAA being so low and strong D, your doing your job when your not noticed. He's not getting burned, not taking ill timed peanltys, playing good solid d on the PK. And he plays that scrappy in your face style that gets under opponents skin. I've also notice when he does pinch in it's smart, he's gotten a few oppertunitys and made the smart play to keep it deep in there zone. Him and Lilja defenitly go on my unsung hero's list.

He needs to deal with something he know's best. V05-hot oil vs. soul glow

Been hearing that for over a decade. Still waiting.........

The guys been playing a great all around game. It comes as no surprise to me and some others I'm sure. It's a team game and the whole team has stepped up and played great. As far as Dats goes, he's been awesome and let his play do the talking. Yet he still seems to be flying under the radar, which I believe to be a great advantage.

Watch the last two series over again.

Exactly, spamadelphia was obnoxious, but for me there's no reason to rub it in or anything. For one, we've all been there numerous times as Wings fans, and for two, one posters annoying repeatitve posts don't speak for an entire fan base. Although the Shark tank could take a page from MSG, there was absoultly no graditude for a great season afterward like Rangers fans showed there team. Not that Wings fans would either, thankfully we don't have to worry about that yet. The Sharks are a great team, although much like Nashville, I don't think many roster moves should be made, but there not going anywhere with that coaching staff. Well, the head coach at least. But like Hank said which is very true, the disappointments make teams stronger, and it's kinda like a right of passage. Every team goes through it, Wings fans know this first hand. I'm going to resist calling out the dooms dayers, as much as I would like to. I'm just going to hope that when a game doesn't go the Wings way this series, maybe they'll just chill out for a bit instead of getting all silly like they have the past two series. And enough with the "they gotta prove it" on all levels, they've proved it. IMO the best 2 teams from each conference are truly represented this year. Go WINGS!!

"Meh.....ya never get rid of me....see?.....meehhhh"- Trotz :hat: (closest thing I could find to a 1930's gansta smiley)

I'll be at your door around dinner time, with a plain white shirt and some informative "pro-datsyuk" pamphlets.

Rules are rules I'm afraid. You'll be expected to report at 05:00 hrs.

Glad someone else does too. Honestly I've laughed more from this than my last visit to comedy castle, and that's no lie. Actually, he doesn't make that much yet. The new contract doesn't start til next season.

He's simply not backing up hard enough. Where's the heart?

I've read it, but better than that I've got a pretty good memory especially of my own posts, please point out the personal attack of mine towards you so i can correct that. Thanks. If your refering to me, I always read the thread and all comments before I post. But I also am pretty good at remembering past posts, flame wars, rants whatever, and am able to put 2 and 2 together. I don't recall saying you would be one of the ones never satisified but in all honesty, wouldn't be surprised. Overblown the topic maybe, but at least it's better than repeating the same obvious statement "no scoring for wings equals no wins" and patting each other on the back, no? I mean really, I don't care what I "look like", rather be accused of being a "zealous" fan than someone who waits to jump on the bandwagon til the end, wouldn't you? Great, I see you have a good memory too, well as easy as that would be for you to name, I bet I could come up with three who'll be trying to bash the same dried up bologna comments in spite. BTW, my post wasn't "blah, blah, blah" there was some serious, and some funny stuff in there. Gave me a smile anyway.

Personal insults? Where when I called you an intelligent poster? Yeah that's a bad one. Since when are you so sensitive? No offence but you were acting like a martyr. You got pissed cause I put a " " after your post cause you said it was simply a playoff hockey analysis. so you served me up one, and I gave you the "cartoon finger". Hardly a personal insult or all that serious. If you got offended I apologize. I do get laughs and didn't attack anyone. But the fact your acting holier than thou on that whole issue is mildy amusing also. While I've called your analysis of the road scoring situation for both as stating the obvious, I think the fact of how the Wings have been all year should be taken into consideration also. There the kind of team that spreads the scoring around over 4 lines. Look at N.J. 2 guys doing everything, there about done. Vancover and Dallas relied on one player alone. done. Calgary, kipper, done. So your saying Dats and Z should step it up even more. Fine, what if both get 3 pts. in the final 2 home games of the series and none on the road and the Wings still win the series, where does that leave your arguement of the simply MUST score on the road or they'll be done? I'm just saying, it's not that black and white. Diplomatic? don't have to be, I don't really care. Say what you want to say. Someone actually complemented you on not sugar coating things, that's why the love what you post. But, I beleieve Datsyuk "apologist" used to be your prefered lable for me and others in the past. That's the one I've grown accustom to. We must have a different defintion of "flaming" cause I don't think I've done anything of the sort. You may be being a bit "hyper-sensitive". Again no offence. For the record, I've been supporting Z against un-fair ridicule since the start of the playoffs. Said all along how i think there both great. Just found it funny how Z was the do no wrong golden boy, whilst the same people would refer to Dats as simply the "greedy, overrated, russian". Zealots. Watch it or were going to jump on the hood of your car with our #13 jerseys and flaming spears screaming "Ala Akbar!" hahaha!! Again, I don't think anyone really went overboard in reation to your posts. I'll apologize for anyone in this thread that personally offended you. I will say that one thing I found comical which you really had no control over was Hank attaching himself to you. I got this picture in my head of those old Sylvester the cat cartoons, where you'd have the big bulldog (you) and then the little puppy (hank) and the puppy'd be like circleing around the bigger dog, while the bigger dog was just walking ignoring him and the puppy would say stuff like "Spike, what we gonna do today spike! you see that cat spike, want me to beat him up spike, your so strong and tough spike, your the best!" haahhah Don't know, most around here might be too young to remember those old cartoons. edited to better convey my looney tunes reference.

Eh, he hasn't looked all that great in this series. I thought he was alot better last one. Maybe it's the concussion or something, but I think he'll be coming around shortly. It makes no sense to put him on the fourth line. You might as well just scratch him then. I'm waiting until the Wings are out of the playoffs before i give anyone a final grade. I don't think we've heard the last of him this year yet.

Can someone PLEASE help Harold off the stake?!? Such the Martyr. Hank? Give me a break boss, anyone who reads your posts regularly knows how you are. If a little cartoon hand gets to you that bad, I guess I was wrong. No, lets have it your way instead. Datsyuk is completly over paid and should'nt have been resigned at all. I've made no secret of the fact I can't really stand the guy, so lets nit pick for nit picks sake. Never mind the sucess both the team and himself are haveing so far this post season. (if you know how the Datsyuk supporters are...which silly me thought was all Wings fans....then why continue to push buttons, when you know what it gets you? Personally I don't care, I get alot of laughs out of a thread like this, but it really seems to bother you that people support the guy. Overall he is playing well, I don't think I've read where anyone said he's playing like Wayneo or even Stevie, so why do you act like they have?) Yeah he hit him so hard the z on the back of his jersey spun to an s. I'm sure Dats makes a habit out of watching retired players hits on former Wings from over a decade ago.
-
Well here's what the current coach says..... Babcock said, "You chat, but matter of fact. How you tell them is by how much you get to play. They know. That's the only thing that matters. They want to help the team win. That's what it's all about. I think sometimes we put too much into the individual thing; at this time of year, it has nothing to do with that. The minutes after the game -- who cares? Did we win or not?
-
Because it's simply stating the obvious, without looking into any factors leading to it, such as, other teams D against them, goaltending, the teams overall record on the road and the scores of those games, the rest of the teams production, time played 5 on 5 and not the pk, and the fact of how each has stepped up their game in almost every other facet for the good of the team. What you've done is looked at some box scores, and state the obivous "Datsyuk needs to score.", an absurd patting each other on the back amount of times by Hank.yeah, and Hasek needs to stop the puck, Lidstrom gotta be strong in his own zone and along the boards, and guess what? It's been happening, maybe that's why the series is 2-2 in the second round instead of being sweept in 4 in the first. Yep, I do. I don't think some realize that the Wings aren't actually down in this series, and have shut up alot of neh-sayers to this point, and i have no reason to think they can't continue to. No, it's not worthy of a thread. That's why at most I make 1 or 2 posts about how stupid it is to have started that thread, list a few reasons and call it a day. Being an intelligent poster as you are, I figured you'd do the same, which you usually do, unless it's about Datsyuk. And that's annoying and possibly why some refer to you as a "hater". Don't know but that's my guess. Yeah, well they have scored, and scored or set up big goals, and have provided alot more than some on the team. But then you get the negitive nancy's who want to piss and moan about where they score. You want to know what the difference is there boss. We don't start threads about it all the freaking time. Find a post where I said he was the best in the leauge. Can't cause i haven't. Yep, he is a star player. Not one many believed in or thought he'd produce at all. Yet he has and will continue to force the crow down many's thorat (ask hank how that tastes). Some of us support the team and the players, knowing full well that pissing and moaning threads on the internet do absolutly nothing, except make us sound like spoiled babies. Is THAT so hard to understand? Yeah, well he might as well forbid anyone who doesn't jump on your "analysis" bandwagon and pat you on the back for your "insight". Here's something for you , but it's got the wrong finger up.
-
Come on Harold , that is hardly analyzing the playoffs. That's like saying the goalie needs to stop the puck, the D needs to defend the zone, and the water boy must fill the water bottles. YES, all the forwards must play well and produce at home and on the road. Duh. Does it REALLY need it's own thread? Anyway, I decided a long time ago, to let Dats disprove his critics with his play, which he's done a pretty good job of. I'm just going to go back to doing that. GO WINGS!
-
I think it becomes a flame war, because it's usually the same people saying the same things, or waiting for a chance to pounce on anything negitive to be said about the guy. But then they'll flip flop and voice there support after a great game, wheather it's on the road or at the Joe. It's rather annoying. I guess my point is some will always find something to ***** about when it comes to Datsyuk, no matter what.

Come on Hank, I figured you could've learned something from yourself, remember these posts of your?....... QUOTE(Hank @ April 13, 2007 - 08:08AM) If anyone here knows me it's that I've always been a HUGE supporter of Pavel Datsyuk. I've stuck with him through thick and thin and I knew all those playoff games without a goal wasn't from his lack of heart or trying. I was very glad to see that my loyalty to him was proven correct last night. All of you Datsyuk doubters should be able to learn something from me. Good day. Hank April 13, 2007 - 08:56AM Post #4 Hahaha. Well this is post is very much "tongue-in-cheek". I think I bashed Pavel more than anyone in Wings nation regarding Pavels postseason play. I'm glad to be eating lots, and lots of crow today. I'm just saying, I think it's funny how some can always find the brown lining in the cloud. It's rather silly. This series has been LOW scoring, and he's had his share. For once can the guy complete a playoff before all pass there judgement?
-
There's more to playing a good game than what shows up on the stat sheet. He's played good and so has Z. The Wings have a good run going this year so far, Dats has been a big part of it. I think it's funny how some are now going to get picky about how much and where he scores. Although I've said all along when he does let his play speak for itself and produces, some will never be satisfied. Eh, I think him and the team have done pretty well so far, and surpassed the experts and most fans around here's expectations. I find Devils advocates rather annoying. No offence or anything.

Wings are winning tonight. Always lose when I post in here, and when I have to go else where to watch the game. (no vs.) Don't care. There still doing it. No doubt in my mind. GO WINGS!!!!!!!!

The One and Only Positive I Have Faith, Kumbayah"
bringback91 replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in General
Cause he's not a dooms dayer. I'm not all that worried either. They had it and let it slip away. It's only 2-1, I'm pretty sure no other team down 2-1 is giving up, why should the Wings. I'm pretty sure the players couldn't care less about it being babcocks birthday or any of that nonsense. I guess it's just called having a little faith vs. screaming that the sky is falling, just to be able to say "I told you so!". -
I can just see Trotz in the stands (in his best 1930's gangsta voice) "mehh....see, I tought him well, meh.."

Why couldn't the Wings win in SJ? It's not exactly walking on water.
