This may sound odd, but in some way Homer being out might actually help the power play. Maybe with him out babcock can get it through his head that even people who don't watch hockey know what the wings are going to do. hhmmmmmm........back to the point and hope it gets tipped or a screen to go in. But nope, just blocked. They have a man advantage, and they take it so far back there about to go offsides, and then try for this perfectly placed shot. You don't have to be good at blocking shots to stop the Wings, they'll fire it right into you. Work it down low like all the successful teams. It's a joke. And with Homer out, there is really no one there to stick in front as effectively, so a forced change in game plan might be what they need.

Convince me why I shouldn't be dreading this series....

One game don't make a series, the same thing Sharks fans would've said if the Wings won. -
Pre-GAME 1 (4/26): Sharks @ Red Wings - 7:30 PM ET

Only 4-1?!? I was thinking 8-2 9-1 or something. You know how they've been studying that 9-4 game on a loop and stuff. I mean, I'm not sure that some of the Wings will even take the ice. I mean Homer Z and Lebda are already faking injuries. I'm sure Cheli and Bert will follow soon. I mean can you blame them with the "mack trucks" these young, big, speedy, tough, gritty, skilled, cool colored jersey wearing, ufc fighting, football offensive lining, 5 game sweeping, super human athletes these big guys play like? -

But the Sharks have no flaws. Basically it's 4 1st lines, 2 starting goalies, and 6 Norris caliber dmen. How can they lose one? Yeah or that one where they owned the sharks all game and they got lucky to win in O.T. Or that other crazy one, where the Sharks got there ass kicked and Radulov got that hat trick? -

Why Sharks in 5 then? Just say sweep. I don't see how the Wings could possibly win a game against THEE MIGHTY SHARKS. I heard their kinda big and fast. Is that true? -
hahahah Their front line average size is 6-8 300 lbs. Most of them have been sent offer sheets from the N.E. Patriots to join the O line. Clowe has the skating ablity to be a figure skater, but he chooses UFC fighting instead. Because his combination of speed, skill, toughness, and size is a thing of legend. The whole team for that matter. It's had the hockey world wondering, "how could this be?" This is top to bottom the best and most complete collection of super human atheltes ever put together. There fourth line could be ANY other teams first line, the D is just perfect in every facet of the game, and Nabby......well let me just say, I can't remember the last time he's got scored on. Kipper who? Sorry spamadelphia's repetitive posts have assemilated me into the Borg. Sharks in 5......."resistance is futile."

Well I was going to watch the Wings game tonight and the rest of the seires, but Spamadelphia has proven that "resistance is futile". So I guess I'll just wait til next year. -
Am I the only one freak'out at all of the injuries on the team?
bringback91 replied to Pucker's topic in General
With all the love and repetitiveness you speak of in terms of S.J. inparticular their "mack truck"-like forwards, I'd be willing to bet your pounding more than a drum. -
ummm..... ummmmm....... I think I got it! Lets play the games and see who's better?
-
I don't think they'll mess with that second line after getting them guys going. It seems like a great fit for now, I'd leave it alone. Don't be surprised if everyone's new favorite whipping boy Sammy sees some time with the first line. I think it'd be awesome if Kopecky could get in sometime til Homer's back.
-
I will say this though, cause your getting increasingly annoying..... Just replace the word wings with sharks in your post, and you'll see how silly you sound. By reading your posts, what's the point of playing any games at all, save it for next season and give the Cup to SJ now.
-
Oh, trust me boss, I know better I haven't been feeding him anything. Gotta admit it's silly how he keeps repeating the same thing over and over though.
-
We get it boss, your a Sharks fan and you think they are God's gift to hockey, great. You sound like a broken record though. I don't really care about foul language, but since you asked.... Get ready for an ass-whoopin. Sharks in 5... This post has been edited by Samadelphia: Today, 09:48 AM

Between Spamadelphia's studing of game tape from the 9-4 win and his size, strength, and speed there's no way Lids can hope to defend against him.
-
I vote Spamadelphia gets his own little topic. You know, one he can wallow around in. He's already apparently in his own little world.
-
They were saying things about an eye injury?!
-
Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I'd hate to break it to Billy, but the Sharks gotta play some D also in this series. With the way Bert, Cleary, Flip, and Huds have stepped up, along with Dats smacking haters in the face and Z picking it up just in time (I'm predicting MVP style play from him this series) it's not going to be this cake walk for the sharks that some on here fear. Besides, with the way Lilja for example has stepped up, kinda makes their game tape and knowledge of him kinda useless, no?

His attitude reminds me of Arnott in Edmonton.

So what's the word on Big E, is he done for the remainder or what? I hope dallas wins and he comes back, so Markov can crush him with an open ice hit. -
Best thing about round 2, playing an AMERICAN team.

The commentators are morons, behind the mask? more like behind the ass. But as someone who doesn't have Vs., doesn't like to go to the bar everyday, there really is no substitute for CBC. At least a game every night. I can stomach the commentary and bias, in exchange for the games and great coverage. NBC and FSN always so quick to cut to commercial. As ridiculous as Grapes is, I'd listen to him everytime over Bill Clements lame ass. I wonder if he's bringing tissues to Forsbergs retirement annoncement. I agree, but the lame Bert hold at the begining of o.t.?.... come on -
As far as the true MVP for the series, it's a tough call, but who stood out to me as far as everything not just stats was Cleary. Honarable mention to Franzen, Kipper (sweep if not for him), and Lids. Unsung hero: Lilja honarable mention: Cheli, Flip Key players who told nay-sayers to shove it: Dats, Lilja Honarable metinon : Cheli Basically you have to give it up to the entire team, cause without everyone pulling together it doesn't get done. I do feel that Dom, Schenider, and Drapes should get some mention, along with Bert and Z battleing back from injury to make big impacts. Even everyone's new whipping boy Sammy, while not scoreing was making some good hits and had a couple of key back checks that broke up great Calgary scoring chances. Can't wait for the doom and gloomers to show up again after tonights SJ and Dallas game.

Whoa! I thought for sure there was at least 2 games left for the Wings to show what there made of and shut up all the panicers?!? Guess I was wrong, huh? Better luck next year I guess right guys? *edit*-- Gilchrist can scream and have all the guts in the world, he was one of the worst and most unimportant players on that team. I'm sure Per Djoos has heart too, but I don't want him around either.
