Hatcher'd be like, "hey got room for one more?" ahhaha
-
^^ this jack off is going to get me fired, trying to make my computer download some porn or something. Good thing I thought ahead for asses such as yourself.

That article makes it seem like he's going to Nashville, no?
-
It'd be nice that's for sure, I'd kinda like to see Tkachuk come in over Bert. For a few reasons, but one being Tkachuk wouldn't have just stood by and watched Z get punched, cross checked ect., last night. He'll drop the gloves if need be, and he's a punishing checker. Two years in a row now Calgary cheapshoting Z and Dats near the end of the season. edit--- whereas, I don't think Bert would be able to play that role (going after someone, for gunning for Z or Dats) after the whole incident. Besides, he's no where close to game shape.
-
Nice, he's one guy I didn't want to see come to the wings.
-
He's got a good shot at it. heres hoping he gets it
-
Yeah, they go on to rip on the guy a bit later on in the article also. While Kronner is a better player for sure, I don't believe Lilja to be as bad as everyone makes him out to be. If you liked this one, I'm sure you'll like the speculation by Eklund of a Hatcher return. Or how can we forget the famous "Z for Belfour" of last year.
-
Yeah, I said I thought it was pretty ridiculous myself. I don't know how to do links, but here it is (from Mlive)...... "Gormley is DEFINITELY dreaming: A similar Swedish connection makes Detroit a popular destination. Two of the Red Wings' top four scorers, defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom and left wing Tomas Holmstrom, are from Sweden and there is talk the Red Wings would part with defenseman Andreas Lilja or perhaps Niklas Kronvall in exchange for Forsberg. But is there fire where there's smoke?" Maybe if Pitkenen (sp) came back the other way also.
-
There was an article on Mlive in which it's stated that (the author) suspects Kronner might go in a deal for forsberg. I think that's ridiculous, cause you'd get alot more from Edmonton, who desprately wants a puck moving Dman. Kronner looked like crap last night, by far the worst dman, and probably the worst on the ice. But that's only one game, that's not how it is night in and night out. I think he's a good player, but has shown nothing to even come close to earning the contract he got. Gamble by managment is an understatement. I couldn't believe it when I heard it, more so the length but the price is too much also. I wouldn't mind him being dealt, depending on return. And it's alot easier to deal a young guy like him who's under contract, than if he was a FA. But to be open to the other side of the arguement, many Wings fans wanted Lids traded early on too.

The "REAL" reason some Detroit fans dislike Fedorov

QUOTE(Crymson @ February 8, 2007 - 01:06AM) YOU: The last time I checked, such discussions as this did not rely on facts, but rather on opinion. How can you 'prove' that an opinion is correct? Can you produce some physical theory that states Fedorov's return would be worth it for y dollars based on x point production and z team dynamic effect? I mean, seriously... What the f***? Lidstrom sucked last year in the playoffs? Okay, let's use your rationale. Detroit dropped three straight playoffs between '98 and '02, and in none of them did we pass the second round. We won in '02... because we added three freaking HoF players. Now, we lost again in '03 while Fedorov was still around. I must confess that I don't get your point. You're saying that he was a big part of our success back then, so we should pick him up again now that his per-year price is twice as much and his production half as much? I don't get it. Then again, I'm sure that I'm just choosing to ignore some of the universe-underpinning 'facts,' no? ME: Yeah, that's why I usually stay out of them. The "opinions" usually are un true gossip and stuff to try to tear the guy down. Much like the before mentioned USSR comment. It's silly, people choose to ignore the facts of his career here, and go with the gossip of "he sold US out" bologna. It's stupid. I think you've skipped a few of my posts, I don't think I've said a whole lot about him coming back, most of it's been about how stupid it is to boo him. Yes Lids sucked in the playoffs last year. No, reread the post before trying to jump all over me. No,your just choosing to ignore most of the posts I've made, pick and choose one or two lines, warp them then talk s***. ^^ I think you skipped this one, is basically the same thing you just asked again. Always so quick to battle.... Oh, Z cleary and homer are worth there money, but then again, we weren't really talking about them, as there not in the same pay scale as 91. Sammy's not worthless, but then again, your no scout either. -

Why do you always freak out everytime someone posts something? Lang makes 3.8, that with the cap going up is enough to cover it if they REALLY wanted to. And they'd still be the 2 mil under that they currently are. There's a few players on your list that don't deserve there money. Why enough about the linemates? Nash has sucked big time this year, Vyborny is okay but rarely is lined up with Sergei power play or not, and Zherdev has yet to even show up this year. Not to mention the rest of the team absolutely blows. Actually he is scoring better as far as games played/pts. With the team there on, playing on the top 2 lines and all the PP's, they should be outscoring him, shouldn't they? Just take a breath boss, you act like it's your 6 mil or something. -

Yeah it is, by fans who don't understand the concept of hockey being a business. Fans who boo are greedy and stupid, nothing more. Who cares when fans boo a Red Wing great? Actual fans who realize what he did for the team, and how long he actually played for them. Yep, the booers did pay for there ticket, and they look like Leaf and Canuck fans. Greed has everything to do with it. There the same fans who expect there players to walk on water, and there team to win the cup every year. Anything short is unacceptable. And that's stupid. Thanks for clearing that up Holland, but I think Sergei might have a bit more pull then Manny. Great comparison by the way. -

No I'm not it just proves my point even better. Gordie did all those things (unrealistic to expect now days) and was more appreciated than Sergei, but still left and played for another team, no? yet is like the Wings freaking Grandpa. Look I know theres bias, but the difference in how some unfairly treated in comparison to others is ridculous. What 12 seasons, with the Wings, not good enough I guess. -

Should he? If #5 goes I think 91 should. Do I think it will, no. Other than those two, no one is even close to deserving. But hey, I'd settle for a little apprecation instead of boos, that be nice... -
Your right, he only leads the NHL in takeaways. Is in the top ten in FO%. Those are useless in the post season. Yeah I remember the good ole days when Stevie and Kozzie would smash some dudes thorugh the glass, then drop the golves with whoever was willing. No need to have your lilja and cheli type players along with dom stop the shots, lets have Z and Dats do it, cause that's what it takes to win, right? You speak of cyrstal balls to others, yet you seem to be able to read emotion and desire through an FSN feed, that's amazing. Well, at least we can all sleep easy, knowing that your not the GM.

No he wasn't, besides he didn't retire a Wing either. -
Oh no!!!, could it be! Your right man, but they've got there whipping boy. He's doing great and I think he'll prove it this year in the post season. It's been the same crap typed all year. I say just shut up already, and let the guy have his "last" shot as a Wing. As much as people over react to some weak stats in the post season, they do the same thing with Z over one freaking series. There ready to stitch the C on, give him 10 years at 7 mil, over one playoff series, where the TEAM still got eliminated. I'm sure Dats isn't ready to call it a career, so why are so many around here. they act like the guy is never going to improve or adapt. I laugh when people actually think that team would've went farther with Doan instead of Dats. Hate to break it to everyone, but Dats wasn't near the top of the list of things that went wrong with last years team.

Lazy, that's an opinion, and everyone is entilted to that. Everyone has off nights for one reason or another. Maybe he could've racked up a few more points sure, but the bottom line is when it REALLY counted, Sergei was front and center. I personally don't think the guy was "lazy" as much as maybe disgrunteld at times. Bryan Murry was not only a coach but a friend of Sergei, and I think he may have felt Murry got sold out, (speculation on my part) and clearly didn't get along with Bowman for verious reasons not always ice time for himself, but maybe some teammates he felt more deserving of some also (Koz). Again, speculation. The offer sheet, eh, like you said I can't hate on the guy for trying to get his money. You weren't alone in thinking the guy was the best all around player at one point, and lets not forget some outside factors. (his dad) Besides what the guy went through just to be in the NHL, I mean he's stated in articles how he still to this day is looking over his shoulder for the mob (russian). But your right, fans don't always understand the business side of things. Kinda like when Stevie himself was almost sold up the river for Daigle. No ones safe and if you don't look out for yourself, who will? My opinon on the 5 for 50 offer are that he wanted to get his divorce finalized, and hire new representation. Soon after this was realized by managment (that he didn't jump on the offer, one of a few mistakes he admits) the offer was quickly pulled and the years and money dropped. I speculate that this was somewhat of a slap in the face to him, in which he knew he wouldn't get the respect or admiration like that of a Stevie or a Lids. (IMO he was just as if not more important than those guys) Those who boo him are stupid and "greedy". Which is funny, cause that's what they accuse him of. Greed. Hmmmm.... lets look, over 10 years, numerous personal acheivements, nearly 1000 pts., versitlity like no other on the roster, 3 CUPS, personal endevors such as his foundation and cheritalbe donations. Yet all is forgot and he is treated like Bertuzzi and Claude. Unbeliveable. Newsflash, Gordie wasn't a career Wing either. Give the guy a break. I don't think he ever ask for his number to be retiered or even expected it. He knew it was Steve's team, and Steve knew his team wouldn't have done s*** without Sergei. Hate it or love it. We all have opinions, and I don't think Detroits seen the last of 91 in a Wings jersey, one way or another. -

Gord, we've (you and I) been thorugh all of this at length already. So I'm not going to go over everything we've already discussed before. I'd just like to know what I'm believeing what I want to believe about the situation? Lids was here in 02 as well, and sucked last year in the playoffs, what's your point? My original comment was addresed to those who like there scandal and gossip stories about the guy and why he left years ago. It's stupid, fact remains, he played here for over 10 years, that's a pretty fair run with one team, no? -

I agree with you. I just stay out of most of these conversations, because people have this warped sense of reality and believe what they want to, disreguarding facts. Just like the "Wings are like the USSR" comment discussed above, Harold has is right, but people will still hear what they want to hear. *****, *****, ***** it's never enough. The guy was a key in 3 cups, sure only part of a team of great players, but in 97-98 he was the best amoung them. No, thats not an arguement to bring him back, that's against all the idiots that still to this day boo him. Ungrateful, that's all it is. Cry me a river "But he only played here for over 10 years!!!!11111 " So he left, whatever the reason, that doesn't change what he did on the ice while he was here. As far as now days, he does still have it, his numbers while not great aren't bad either considering the team he plays for and Nash is having a crap year. I've watched my fair share of Columbus games, and the skill and speed are still there. Besides, he's a clutch playoff performer, isn't that what the Wings lack? I'd like to see him come back just to read all the people who boo's posts pissing and moaning about it, it'd make my day. -
That just proves even more of just how much of an ass he really is. I read an interview with Cheli the other day, and he said most of Claudes own teammates couldn't stand him and didn't respect him. I'm not saying he can't see his career as a success in his own mind, just that as far as being a real man goes, he's not. I never said he claimed to be a heavy weight, but when you play like a cheapshot, and talk a big game, you should never "turtle" like a panzy. Dmac was never really considered a "top-teir" heavy weight, actually I think there about the same size. Some one else in another thread spoke of how he tried to go after Kozlov on numerous occasions, while Rouse stepped in to take over for Koz. Claude wanted no parts of it, cause he didn't want to do anything with someone who could handle there own, and was looking at him face to face. I didn't see the show, so I can't say one way or the other how the "joes" would've faired. But I have a hard time believeing that that prick would've easily handled anyone who never played pro. You seem to have some sort of admiration or respect for claude and that's fine, but you shouldn't be surprised when alot of people around here don't. Yeah it was 11 years ago. It was also the start of (IMO) the greatest rivalry in all of sports. Yeah, Drapes won his cups, and it didn't take him almost killing someone with a dirty hit to do it. Oh, it's been dropped as far as the Av's go, I couldn't care less about them now, but I'd still like to see Claude get his ass kicked at every oppertunity.
-
All I got to say is look who's still in the leauge and well respected, and look who has to do reality t.v. shows and is thought of as a cheapshot prick. Yeah I've seen Claude fight a few times, most of the time got his ass handed to him. Dmac crushed him the first time, and won the second. He talks a big game, plays dirty, but by no means is a heavy weight or a badass. Lets see him talk that s*** and try to pull a stunt like that in an Alumni game when big 24 is out there.
-
From Mlive: "There's been one inquiry, a long time ago, only to say that if he were healthy we'd like to hear from Paul at the deadline, if he's going to move him,'' a team source said. "Can't say we're the front-runners. We have no interest if he's not real healthy.''
-
Yeah but what Slava did was awesome. Foote thought for sure he was going to slam him through the boards legal or not, but then Slava was like "nope", and side stepped him, grabbed the back of his head and put his face in the glass. I loved that, payback's a *****. Those teams 96-98 show what a team should be. Stick together to the end win or lose, with even the smallest guy getting in the mix.
