Yeah I've heard Valente on numerous occasions say he hates talking hockey and could'nt care less. It's totally obvious these guys know nothing about hockey, and are simply throwing Forsbergs name out there cause it's one they know, and they know it'll get Wings fans talking and listining to his show. I here more about his freaking kids than the Wings. I'd love to know, do the Wings have some top secret foot replacement surgery they don't want anyone to know about? Cause what freaking good would forsberg do on one foot?

Depends, Langs not under contract, and I thought Torres was. The cap going up, plus the 2 mil there already under, would almost cover signing Smyth. Let alone, the money saved from shipping one of Lebda or Kronner out. I'd perfer Kronner cause him alone would get you Smyth, and at least a pick. If they'd take Williams with Kronner straight up for Smyth and Torres I'd do it in a heart beat. I don't really get into the money stuff to much, just want the team to have the best shot at winning THIS year. There will be pleanty of cap room next year for some upgrades. Gotta give the other team a reason to make a deal, there not going to take Williams and Lilja as everyone would love to see.

But he's shown absolutly nothing to support the #1 Dman theory, nor the health for it, nor his contract extension. Edmonton is hungry for a puck moving Dman, and both Kronner and Lebda are that. People ***** that Holland has no balls when it comes to making a "big" trade. Well here it is. Are D is very strong, and Smyth and Torres would be perfect for this team. You gotta give to get, and you gotta give teams what there looking for. Lang and Kronner would be perfect for them. Besides that you gotta come stronger than other teams, which is what the Wings never do. However, I wouldn't put Lang and Kronner together, it'd be one or the other, with either Lebda with Lang, or Hudler/Williams with Kronner.

I'd shop Kronner and someone or Lang and Lebda to Edmonton. Torres Smyth for Lang Lebda, or Kronner and Hudler

It wasn't really supposed to be a compliment to Sergei, just an intersesting stat and funny how Z does no wrong, and Sergei is washed up, yet is tied in points with fewer games. Yeah I hear you, I'd like to see him get another shot in the playoffs. Although he has been playing some good hockey, same amount of points as Z, in like 6 less games or something. Not Sergei of old, but not too shabby.

While 3 mil seems a bit steep to me, I think it would defeintly be worth looking at for a lesser price. But, he's not a rock em sock em robot with a red maple leaf tatto on his chest, so most of the board won't like it. Yet many are in support of Gomez, who's way smaller than anyone on the Wings and makes less than only Lids. Go figure.

I read on TSN that J.R. said at the end of the year, cause he doesn't think anyone else would want to give him another shot. He said he's not retireing at mid-season though, cause he doesn't quit on anyone.

It's not so much that it goes against all reason, as it just goes against some others opinions. I wasn't saying pay 6 mil for him, it'd be 3 at the deadline, which would be covered by the cap rasie next season alone. Anyway, It's the snide attitudes and the "your so stupid, how could you think that" over tones that come across. It was only me "fighting back" in which I really wasn't, just trying to get the point across that one persons differing opinion doesn't really make the others wrong. Being angry is one thing, going out of your way to belittle and devalue someone elses opinion is another. I say why bother when they've got, Flip, Kopecky, Cleary, Maltby, Franzen, Draper, Homer, s*** that's over two lines of guys. This isn't the same team as last playoffs. If Kronner could ever stay off the IR, and when Markov comes back, along with Cheli, there's some more grit for ya. No, I've been watching this year and thought, DAMN, the Wings could really use a proven goal scorer with some skill. I just don't get people that have watched (and bitched about) the team since the last cup, which by the way contained less grit then the current squad, wanting to transform the team into the Flames or something like that. Why in the world does this topic of some people thinking Fedorov would be a good addition, and easily take the place of any of the wingers already on the team, get you so pissed. Yeah I can be objective (even with the screenname ) but some others can't seem to be. In your lenghty response to my post you seemed to validate alot of my points, while admiting to settleing for a lesser player, simply for being a natural winger. That doesn't seem too objective to me. Some seem to think in order to be effective playing the body, you must demolish the guy into a broken mass of bone and skin whilst putting him through the glass. That's not the case and Feds continues to smartly play the body and maintain the puck, make the right play, like he's always done. I'm pretty sure he know's what it takes to score in the playoffs also. As far as being better than Doan, Nagy, and Smyth, since were stating our opinions as fact, yes he is. Doan is the most overrated player I've ever seen on this board, 6 20 goal seasons huh, sweet..... Nagy, if people think Feds used to take nights off, you sure as hell don't want this guy around. Smyth, he's a great player, I'd like to see him on the Wings, but I wouldn't want to give up too much for him, which they'd have to do. But yeah, Feds is just as good if not better in about every catagory. Along with the whole ability to play whatever position outside of goaltender that you need. Anyway, what's the point, your cemented into your opinions, there's really no point in argueing mine. I and some others think he'd be a good pick up, you and some others don't.

I happen to think that 91 is exactly the type of player the Wings need. Big, strong, hard to knock off the puck, can play any position + the point on the power play. He has a knack for scoring big timely goals and still has speed. He could easily step in and replace any winger in the Wings top six as it stands now. As far as he's no good anymore, well I do follow the Jackets as closely as possible and he looks like he's making a comeback. He's looked great since rejoining the team, and would be among the team leaders on the Wings in points, so he can't be THAT bad. And it has noting to do with "just because he's on Nash's line" cause he's not always for one, and for two Nash is UNDER preforming. If Nash and Zherdev could ever do anything he'd be racking up more points. 3 mil at the dead line, the Wings could handle that, and the cap's going up next year anyway. IMO he's still better than Nagy, Doan, and Smyth. Anyone that has watched him play then and after the Wings know's the guy can play anywhere, just cause it says C next to his name on TSN doesn't mean that's all he can play.

You may be right in some cases, I think some around here need to realize that there just the fan, not the G.M., agent, or scout. I find it more fun as a fan to support the team as is, vs. always trying to figure out who should be on the chopping block. All things aside, I like smyth, think he's a good player, wouldn't want him at the cost of Dats though.

Lang was strong last night, I thought the whole team looked like there starting to put something good together here. Well, 5 game win streak is great, but I'm talking about them really starting to gel. While Lang got the game winning goal, I'd have to say if one player "won" the game for the wings, it was Z. He was a man on a mission last night, and the rest of the team fed off that. First game this year he looked like one of the leaders of the team out there. As far as Lang is lazy and sucks, that's dumb...

Yeah, if Philly is having a "fire sale" the first thing they'd want to do is trade away one of there best commiditys for an UFA, with 3.9 mil remaining on his last year of his contract. The rest of your post speaks for itself, and it's ridiculous.

Exactly, Dats isn't the "missing piece" to the puzzle for the yotes. I find it funny that fans think other gm's are going to give up one of there best players, best trade bait, and someone they stand to lose at the end of the season......for someone whom the fans have little to no faith in, having a slower start than expected, and stand a greater chance at losing at the end of the season. Rental for a rental? Makes zero sense from Coyotes side. If you want Doan, probably going to cost you more than just Pavel. And actually, having read that Wayneo wants to bring in "more grit" ....sorry I just laugh now whenever I hear it, hockey related or not......Dats makes even less sense.
