True on all points, but I'd like to hold onto Lang this year if at all possible. Like you say, the Wings would have to cough up more than I'd want to for Ryder, that's my reasoning for wanting to see Samsonov come to Detroit. (again ) Just because I'm bored at work and I find it fun........... samsonov-dats-mule hudler-z-homer sammy-Lang-kopecky (a little weak in the d zone) malts-drapes-cleary/norton pretty sweet IMO.

Your right GST. Although in one season here, Lilja has to be close to the top. hahaha ( I think he's looked pretty good so far this year) Exactly, people will piss and moan about a player, then expect every G.M. in the leauge to be blind and not see what the posters see, right or wrong. I don't really get into the salary and contract things many others are well educated on, but if there looking for a young affordable good center, what about Williams? he's a natural center. Now with Hudler, Williams is more than expendable IMO. Maybe Samsonov for Williams? DON'T SHOOT!!!, just an idea. edit: I understand that newly signed free agents don't usually get traded, but I think this would benifit both teams.

He's awesome to watch and I root for him, on skill level alone, but I might be changing that after this.......... Police: T.O. tried to kill himself By JAIME ARON, AP Sports Writer September 27, 2006 DALLAS (AP) -- Flamboyant Dallas Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens attempted suicide by overdosing on pain medication, even putting two more pills into his mouth after fire rescue personnel arrived. A Dallas police report released Wednesday morning said Owens told rescue workers "that he was depressed." The report was first released by WFAA-TV. The rescue worker "noticed that (his) prescription pain medication was empty and observed (Owens) putting two pills in his mouth," the police report said. The worker attempted to pry them out with her fingers, then was told by Owens that before this incident he'd taken only five of the 40 pain pills in the bottle he'd emptied. The worker then asked Owens "if he was attempting to harm himself, at which time (he) stated, `Yes."'
-
Yeah, I didn't think he got his stomach pumped, they induced vomiting. I'm just hoping next time, some one else holds onto the pills and gives him the correct dosage.
-
How are you so sure? Usually if someone was saying I attempted suicide by taking all of my pills, I'd like to present them like "no I didn't here they are." Just seems fishy to me, not that big of a deal though. He obviously took too many.
-
I have no idea where they are. Usually if I'm supposed to take pills though, I leave them in the bottle, vs. dumping them out in a drawer. (the empty bottle was found along with T.O.) Hey, I hope it's false and an "allergic reaction", the guys the best wide out in the game.
-
While T.O.'s camp is claiming that the sworn statements of the police are false, it still seems a bit odd to me. One thing is if it is false, and there trying to falsely claim he attempted suicide, why did he thank the police in his press conference. Another thing is why is he in charge of his own medication and supplements. Not saying he's not capible, but he's basically the francise, and his health is just as important to the team/front office, as it is to himself. Seems like maybe they should've hired someone to oversee this, simply so something like this could'nt happen. Not to mention, he still hasn't accounted for the 30+ missing pills. He said there "in a drawer" but there weren't found?

If +/- isn't a factor, I'm curious as to what dictates the leauges best defensive forward. Is it voted on by a certain group or something. AndyPred, your not the only one. Just most of the time, in any thread about Dats, you'll get dominated with a flood of posts trying to rip down a great hockey player soley based on two playoff performances. As big of a detremant to the team they would try to lead you to believe, they never want to give any credit for his part in a Stanley Cup win. The guy is a great player, and yes I believe better than Patty. Just watch this season, no matter how well he performs night in and night out, it'll always be "Wait til the playoffs!! "
-
Oh, harold. Surely you've never done the same to anyone. Besides, "chimeing" in on posts is what most are here for.
-
I thought he did a good job detailing his thoughts on the subject. Itself yes, while I don't believe it to be "meaningless", it weighs heavily on things such as the Selkie.

Anson Carter an (e4) Detroit according to Eklund
bringback91 replied to Zeta Power 40's topic in General
Me personally, the remainder of his current contract. One last shot considering what could happen next year through free agency, and after leading the team in points 2 years in a row, I think he deserves a last chance. -

Really? Is that why Bowman benched Kozlov in favor of Gilchrist on many occasions? Many chances?!?! Well he did win the cup with the wings his rookie year. Down play if you must, but that fact remains. After that 2 first round exits with only 1 or 2 players on the supporting cast doing ANYTHING at all in the playoffs, doesn't constitute "many" chances in my opinion. It's such a tired argument. BTW, how much has Thorton done in the playoffs in his career? -

Dats will perform. He has heart. And no one thought Kozlov would ever perform in the playoffs either. -

IMO, Carter isn't going to make or break the year.... He ain't going to be the difference maker in advancing in the playoffs, so why bother? Blah, I'd take Bondra of Carter... it'd be a one year deal for about 1 mil cheaper. -
Great player that'll win you some games for sure, superstar I personally don't think so. I for one, don't wear panties, but if I did they wouldn't be in a bunch. I'm one of the few around here that actually likes the roster as it stands. Not perfect, but no team is. I don't think Hudler is too small at all, I want him to get a shot. Like Gordie said, I'd take a Lang for perezhogin, Dumont and a second rounder. Balances the lines out alot better, plus pacifiys the "Z must play center or else" camp. This rumor is probably bologna anyway. Here's a contradiction for ya though, I also wouldn't be pissed if Lang stayed.
-
Cause Lang makes alot, and the Wings need more wings, less centers. Besides the fact they'd be getting a decent wing ALONG with a 2nd rounder, whilst freeing up some cap room. Nothing against Lang, I like the guy, and actually I root for the Habs too, so might as well go to a team I like. Don't seem too whacky to me. So we think Hudler isn't big enough but Perezhogin at 5'9" 168lb is ok? Not all of us do.
-
If we got Dumont sure, otherwise I'd pass.

Carters agent is quoted on Spectors as saying he 1. Will not be back in Vancover (big surprise, I know) 2. He thinks that teams overlooked Carter thinking he'd re-sign in Vancover, so they signed other players without inquireing about Carter?!?!?! 3. He won't lower his salary demands as he did with his last contract, even if it means starting the season without a contract. Now the guy had a decent year, but they have to be somewhat realistic. Come on, the guys no A.O. I hope the Wings steer clear of this one.
-
Maybe he's a fan of the Wings win or lose. Some of the "posters on the boards around here" aren't as easily influenced by others opinions. The Wings don't have to win a cup every year to have my support and have them be my favorite team, as they have been since the "dead wings", which if you remember were way darker days then the ones we've had over the past few seasons. I don't know that age should overshadow performance in negotiations. Do I think it's a bit high, and more than I thought? Sure. Although I realize that as not important as the regular season may seem to some posters, you can't just pay players for the playoffs, and you need the regular season to get to the playoffs. Shanny had an AWESOME season followed by a sub par playoffs, much like the other 90% of the team. I think 80+ points and 40 goals along with being the only one on the team with some balls, deserves another chance, along with a raise. The bigger issue to me is what seems to be shaking out in net. There looking like there seriously going to go with an old, crap goalie, who's worse than Manny and Ozzie. THAT is where the problem with this team is going to be, again. No sentiment doesn't win cups. Skill, heart, and the will to win does, and Shanny has all those, along with the leadership needed since losing Stevie. All that being said, I wanted Lids to give the HT discount, which he did, now it's Shanny's turn.
-
Really, not so far fetched.
-
Like I said before, he's talking out of his ass, trying to get hits on his site or something. I could be wrong, but wasn't he the one with the "Z for Belfour" rumor or something like it last off season? That guy is garbage. Although I'd like to see Gerber in town.
-
Dats, though I hope there both here for years to come.
-
No offense, because it's better than anything I'd try to do, but it looks like the old Denver Nuggets jerseys mixed with Calgary.
-
I'd just prefer L.A. to go back to there black and silver ones. Wings one's are great, and I hope they never change. If a 3rd jersey is a must (I like being one of the teams without one) it shouldn't include the current logo, maybe just an olde english D or something. I don't like black in it, too many already, Ottawa, Carolina, Calgary and so on. I'd say if you have to do it, make it kinda like the Pistons, Blue and red, and just say Deroit across it or something.
-
I wouldn't even do that. Although, it's not as ridiculous as the Z for Belfour rumor.
