No I don't. I was simply saying it would have been nice. I'm not a GM or an accountant or anything like that. But, Gee, I sure do think your being an ass for no reason.

Lilja makes 8.
-
Kenny should've tried to get Aaron Ward back, he was/is a quality guy who knows how to hit.
-
I was a little dissapointed with the pick up I must admit. But if he'll drop the gloves when someone cross checks or takes a run at the captian I'll be happy. He will drop the gloves, no?
-
The Wings getting Wendy Clark, and Ranford. Glad that's over. Although we did get some good players that year also. Klima, Cheli, and Sameulson.
-
Eh, yeah I agree he's a punk. Though he's not as much of one as Tucker and the like. Come on guys, you've all been saying all year the Wings need some grit, well here it is and now no one's happy. I'm not exactly crazy about the move either, but I've always said I'm happy with the team we have, maybe a Dman with a mean streak. It makes sense, he's obvioulsy going somewhere, and why wouldn't he play last night, unless, he already knew he was going to have to play the team he was about to be playing for. I hope the Sammy injury isn't a smoke screen and there not planning on moving him! Sammy Mowers and a 5th round for Nash and Gautier(sp) or Morris? gosh I hope not.

For real? That blows! Even through a trade, huh? Blowman is a bastard, does his contract ever expire or are we stuck with him forever?
-
I think they should look at Lang for Dmac and Leapold, then package someone like Lebda and Hudler for a #2 Center from another team.
-
funny....
-
Yeah, moving your top points getter, and #1 center would be a great idea! If true, then why do the Wings have to pay so much, but Boston has to pay so little. Gosh, this would be just a ridiculous idea, I just don't understand. Besides the fact, how does this help the Wings with what they "need" (either a tough Dman, power forward on wing, or just a tough roll player)? I actually like Sundin, but the asking price is outrageous! Besides the fact that Kenny has said numerous times he likes the forwards we have and he's not going to be making and deals upfront, let alone a blockbuster. Also Pavel, hardly fits in with the Leafs, and the only way they'd want him is to trade him somewhere else. Pull the trigger on this move and flush your future down the toliet!
-
Nah, not going to happen. Weight wants to go to Ottawa, besides the fact he said if he WAS traded, he'd want to go back to St. Louis next year anyway, so it be a waste of a trade for the Wings.

Spectors (taken with a grain of salt) has reported that the Stars want Kozlov and the Blackhawks want to deal LaPointe. Now, I hope Slava doesn't end up on Dallas for obvious reasons. But the biggest one to me is I like Atlanta and there the biggest sleeper team out there to me. No one's giving them a chance and if they can get a goalie and a Dman they'll be there come playoff time. Moving Kozlov would be the biggest mistake they've made (including singing Krupp and Holik). As far as Lapointe, I would love to see him back in town. He'd fit in perfectly with Malts and Drapes, and would come relitively cheap. (As far as talent, you'd have to deal someone with around the same salary.) But if you could package a deal that wouldn't hurt the Wings too much, (Cleary, Mowers, and a prospect, Lebda, Quincy, MacDonald, Fillipulla or someone like that I think it would be a good deal for the Wings. Not that Chicago would go for that, but it would start some sort of dialog. I think if the Wings are going to try to make a deat one for Lapointe makes just as good of sense as any. You could also try to get Cullimore in that or any deal.

I voted no for the same reasons as you. Gotta pay to play I always thought. Pay your own way that is. Expanding a game to new markets before you get your "real" markets healthy was a bad desicion on Bettmans part, but all you can do is add it to the list. Wings fan btw.

I get it boss, not trying to get you upset. Seriously.

Where did I say the Preds weren't a good team? Just cause your a good team don't mean your going to win the cup. I've posted before that I thought they were overrated along with Vancover, never did I say they weren't a "good" team. I just think SOME preds fans (not lumping you in with all of them) are ready to start planning the parade. There's alot of hockey left and anything could happen. As far as to down play Vokouns importance to Nashvilles record, come on, one miniute it's "he's just that good" the next you could win with "any" other starter or your back-ups? That's ridiculous. Rinne is not going to win you a playoff series aganist Columbus, never mind like Vancover or San Jose. I can't argue that they would make the playoffs with a back up "now" since they could basically go .500 and still make the playoffs. Nashville, is a good team, I DON'T DOUBT THAT. I just don't think there the powerhouse everyone is hyping them up to be that's all. You can say the same about the Wings, I don't really care. Everyone gets an opinion, no? Also it doesn't mean that all the rest of the games were pure talent, I know alot were, but the first game WAS the luckiest they'll get all season and the second I give them credit, but it very easily could've went the other way. Vladdy, yes, the reasons you listed are all Wings strong points. It was bad luck that the Wings couldn't get it done the first game, second not so much, good game by two good teams. I also said "Not to take anything away from the Preds" Long season with alot left to go, all I really got to say about the whole thing.
-
I always say you gotta be lucky to be good, so I don't think Vokoun himself would really care if you said he was lucky on a few (Shanny off the post into the back of his glove) The Preds really wouldn't do anything ("IMO") without Vokoun, since most teams only have one "starting goalie" if you went to a back up you'd more than likely be swept in the first round. The Wings on the other hand to me our a superior team in the fact that it really wouldn't matter who started in net for us, as I believe that the team as a whole is a better team. Not to take anything away from the Preds but, they were SUPER lucky to get out of town with 2 wins. Probably the luckiest they'll be all season.
-
I like to think of the Preds as "window shoppers". There test driving a car they can never buy. Sure, the Wings may let you take it around the block, just make sure you know who's name is really on the title! Wings win, Vokoun although a good strong goalie, is hardly Roy or Hasek. The sooner you all realize this (preds fans) the easier it will be to accept an early playoff exit. If you make it!
-
1 and 2 I agree with. 3 I don't think Vokoun did anything spectacular, good position, a little luck, but no save that I was like "Man this guys got it going!" I don't seriously think Nashville is going anywhere without Vokoun, I mean we won with Howard in net too, but I don't even want to see him on the bench come playoff time. I sure hope they don't let more shots on goal, I'd have to tell the goalies to suck it up and stop the shots they do face, puck possesicion is the Wings game they can't change that. Yeah, the Wings will take it to them tonight, no doubt.
-
We got the goal, you got an extra 12 1/2 minutes to try and get it back, it was balanced. The weirdest start to a game in NHL history. The division and conference lead are only at stake tonight, no big deal. Time to see if the Preds can step up and steal the crown for a little while, or longer. I think it was even, but wasn't only like 7:30 we got back?
-
Shane Doan?!?!, For Dats or Lang!?!? I'd have to pass, might as well just trade Zets for Tucker. Come on, theres gotta be a player around that can give the Wings what they need without trading the future. A Dman is what I want to see them get, plus in the Detroit News they asked Kenny about trades heating up around the leauge the closer to deadline we get and he said "Not in Detroit". That being said I highly doubt they'll trade anyone off the roster. Maybe a prospect or something, but I doubt even that.
-
I agree, he'll never be Shanny. But the guy is a more than servicable forward, who has size and uses it. Everyone wants to improve the team, but only by trading Mowers or Rivers. That's just not going to work. I should have known not to even mention an ex wing, knowing some people will hate him no matter how he's playing. It doesn't have to be Lapointe, but a player like him wouldn't hurt. Like a Barnaby like you said, even though I can't stand him.
