Yeah, I'm only really familar with Comcast and wow. I just noticed that everyone that had comcast had it and no one I knew with wow did. I'm not a big fan of VS. either, but I'll make it somewhere bar or a friends. But there's nothing like watching in the comfort of your own home.
-
oh, never knew that. Good looking out , looks like an upgrade is in order.
-
Why is Vs. on comcast only. That's so stupid. I don't see why it's not made avalible to WOW also.
-
They did the glasses back in the day too, Little Ceasers that is. They'd have two players on them with a quote underneath them. Like "spud and slick" was Gallant and Stevie. "Checks and Checz" Burr and Klima. "The puck stops here" Stefan and Hanlon. And of course "the bruse brothers" need no introduction. I think there was more too, but I can't remember them all.
-
That is funny. What's weird is they forgot the (") at the end of the sentance on each one. Babcock must be a stickler about some tape jobs.
-
Bert vs. Cheli, the way it should be. Bert gets booed? Sure hope so, if your a fan of booing (i'm not) don't see why he'd get off without any. Finally, been waiting too long for some hockey.

Sam "Ace" Rothstein G.M. and Nicky Santoro as coach, that'd be sweet. Something about a pro sports team and Vegas makes me uneasy. If they thought Tocchet was bad.
-
Well I'm pretty sure most Canadieans wouldn't go to Russia and start speaking fleuant russian either. Does that mean that Messier wouldn't be a good captain over there? Actions speak way louder than words. You do realize that the whole "stick taping" thing is just Babcock expressing how Dats even does the smallest things very well, and that's what he wants the younger guys to copy, right? He's not saying that he literaly wants Dats to teach them how to tape a stick, although.......
-
Solid point. But 99% of the time that guy would be a goalie, which can't have a letter. BTW I think Vancover should give Linden back the C.

No, theres no misunderstanding. I see where your coming from. Just disagree as aparently do the Wings. Not directed at you, but I guess I just don't really see the big deal. Whoever is having trouble with the whole thing I'd suggest re-reading the article. Alot of what was said shouldn't really be dismissed. Just an opinion. At any rate, can't wait for the season no matter who's got an A. GO WINGS!

As far as hockey goes? I highly doubt it. But if your talking a job at T-Moblie customer service, sure.

From the article: “It’s not about talking. It’s about modeling,†Babcock said. “I tell everybody that he even tapes his stick better than anybody I’ve ever seen. He just does it right, this guy. He’s phenomenal.

No worries from me there Gordo, you've showed many times over this past season that I've read that your not a "hater" at all. Different opinions on some things for sure, but makes for a fun debate. Surprisingly you've made my "most fun to read" posters list. As far as the Nashville game, Z I could see, Lids that's hard for me to believe. Now my man Cheli, I could see the 25 plus probably an additional 5 and a 10.

Some interesting points: “The more leadership you have the better off you are," Babcock said. "We’re not asking him to replace anybody. We’re just letting everyone know that he’s an important part of our leadership group. But we’re letting him know that that’s what’s expected, as well.†“When (Steve) Yzerman left, we were talking to a number of the guys, and I talked to Pavel about being an assistant captain at that time," Babcock said. "He told me he wasn’t ready and that his English wasn’t good enough. I’ve been around him; his English is good enough. He’s a big part of this team.†Not known as the most-vocal guy in the locker room, Datsyuk is more of a leader by what he does on the ice, which is invaluable to the younger players on the club. “It’s not about talking. It’s about modeling,†Babcock said. “I tell everybody that he even tapes his stick better than anybody I’ve ever seen. He just does it right, this guy. He’s phenomenal. I don't really care either way, make Downey the captian and rotate the A between Meech, Lilja, Hudler, and Sammy if it's going to make the team better. I don't think they'd make a change for the worse.

Questions to all: Would you be upset if Babcock gave the C to Z, and an A to Lids? Drapes is apparent by resume alone I suppose which is fine, but without trying to induce a Z vs. Dats riot, what exactly makes Z so much of a better leader than Dats? I mean I've always been baffled by the whole Z on a pedastal thing. Language is a minor sticking point, obviously it doesn't affect Dats' game at all, and it's been said numerous times that he can speak way better english than he lets on to the media.

I don't think he's any less. I hear ya on the Cheli thing Gord, I thought it would be cool if he got the C after Stevie. I mean obviously Babcock has seen something that's made him want to go all three of them. As far as what "more" he brings than the other two, I'd guess you'd have to have a stall in the locker room, and a seat on the bench to know. Lids seems to be a damn fine leader, strictly by example. If your looking for a loud mouth "ra-ra" guy Cheli is your man. I just have a feeling the only one's that'll have a problem with this is the fans. And I have an even bigger feeling if it was taken just from Drapes and didn't envolve Z at all, even less would care.

Eh, real leaders don't need a letter on the jersey. That's why I don't think any of the three of them will bat an eye at the other wearing it for a period of time. They all lead by example, and really no one knows how they act in the room or on the bench. Dats showed faith in the Wings by signing his contract and now there showing their faith in him, nothing wrong with that. As long as the C doesn't move and there's only 3 A's which is allowed by the way, I don't see a problem. It's not like it's going to be someone different every game. And who knows, maybe it doesn't rotate unless there is an injury. It's not so much of "stripping" it from someone as it is "sharing" the work load.

HIm and his agent have already been quoted as saying he doesn't mind spending time in G.R. if that's what the team thinks is best.

Well deserved.

I don't think the Wings are really boring. I mean your probably not going to see someone deliver a forearm shiver to the back of someones head and bounce it off the glass. Or ozzie two hand someone totally unexpectedly across the stomach, but they still manage to entertain me. I'm really excited for this season. I feel that the so called transition is in full swing and I think they have alot of good young players ready to step up and produce. The team is also far from soft, loved cleary stepping up to defend a teammate, and Grigs not taking any s***. And the whole "old" comment is made simply cause there used to saying it, and they think it's clever and funny without really looking at the roster. I mean really they way they play, does it matter how old Lids and Hasek are? Cheli's in better shape than half the leauge. No, I don't expect every anaylist to drop to there knees over the Wings, but they could get a little more insight and originality in there assesment.

"Downey's emergence mirrors the success of Brad Norton out of training camp last year. Norton made the squad as an enforcer, which is Downey's specialty. Norton lasted six games before being demoted to the Grand Rapids Griffins for the remainder of the season." That's success? Downey's okay I guess, seems to lose fights all the time. And if that's what he's going to be here to do, really what's the point? Ellis is a poor mans draper. Like the guy, works hard, but he's a forth liner on a weak team.
-
I don't know that Dats has a choice really.

^^ those all star jerseys are awesome. I'd get the orange. I like the old Campbell and Wales ones too.
