It's all gravy. Not giving a s*** what others think is good to a certian extent in my book. The offending them part, eh, not so much my thing but hey who am I to say? Eh, believe it or not we do agree on a few things, Feds over Forsberg, I agree with this you said from another thread.... "If i'm reading this correctly, I agree. I love the Drake signing. However, Avery would be nice but only at a fair price and frankly, the market is so f-ed up "fair price" doesn't exist." And for the record, I can't stand Avery, think he's a loud mouth prick. But would love to see him on the wings for around 2 mil. Think he'd be a great fit. See I even fit into the "Holy Grail" catogory you've been searching for.

Yep, me too, but some times I just figure "what's the point?" when it gets to the point where it's like a dog chasing his tail. The discussion part is fine, it's the rest of the slop in alot of your posts that bothers me and makes me avoid debate with you. I'm not pointing my finger at you and saying "I'm better, and know more about hockey than you", simply saying I don't go out of my way to alienate certain posters, lump them into catagories, or tell them who they are or what they think. That's the difference between me and you. When taken with the rest of the post refering to the list, yes it sounds like a reasonable debate....... "But since you asked, some of those guys on that list are a joke and just go to show your somewhat anti-Fedorov stance, yet even with all that said you still put together a more intellegent post than some around here who don't contribute anything. Before you ask, pretty much most of your list from Legwand down. "- myself Like I said, past debates, discussions and such are fine, obviously I still read your posts and some even agree with, but others I read and realize your in a mood or zone or something and it's not really worth anything for me to respond, cause it'll go no where. No I don't think you care at all how many people want to discuss things with you. But then I'd have to ask, why post in a discussion forum? I like reading all differing opinions on various subjects and when I post even in disagreement, I don't try to act better or more knowledgeable than the other person when it's an opinion based thread.

I choose to not discuss not only this but many topics with you do to your over-zealous posts, and your hard headed "I'M RIGHT!, YOU MUST BE AN IDIOT!" attitude. I'm not saying you have to or even should change, I've just been down that path with you a few times, and it's grown old with me. No offense. But since you asked, some of those guys on that list are a joke and just go to show your somewhat anti-Fedorov stance, yet even with all that said you still put together a more intellegent post than some around here who don't contribute anything. Before you ask, pretty much most of your list from Legwand down. And most of the guys above it are untouchable, and if there not, I think you may overvalue them just a tad. And for the record Gordo, no I'm not in love with Fedorov, I just happen to like how the guy plays the game, still think he has lots of skill (at least more than all but 2 of Wings forwards) and think he'd greatly benifit the team, whilst being obtainable. No I don't think he's the best player in the leauge. Again I ask, what's wrong with me thinking that, and why does it bother you so much? If you left that kind of crap out of your posts, you may find more people willing to engage in a discussion.

Ah, I see. Apologize for mis-interpeting your post. Suppose that jaytan's post could have experssed some peoples opinions, but as I've stated I believe those to be the opinions of jack-asses and bigots. Not getting touchy, just expressing my opinion freely as those above mentioned who thought worse of the Wings for taking these guys. I mean, really it wasn't something they had a choice in, unlike this great country we (well me, I assume you as well) get to live in.
-
Neither, responding to the O.P.'s question of who I'd rather the Wings take between Forsberg or Fedorov. Besides, the fact we both know where each other stand on this particular issue, so really whats the point of going through all that again?
-
Actually I think the original poster made his point well with his first sentance. "Great blog about how The Russian Five changed the NHL for players not only from Russia, but globally as well."- WL91 Heat of the cold war? Mid 50's to early 70's? Cold war was all but over in '88 and Soviet Union completly dissolved by '91. But besides that, why would the hockey world care anyway. Obviously those guys liked what they saw over here better, no? I don't think you'll see a hammer and sickle flag flying outside Kozlov's house. People just state there opinon as fact, not taking actual history into account, along with an understanding of what was gone through and overcome to get to the position certain players were/are in. *never have been able to spell very well*
-
I'd take Feds.

Only for jack-asses and bigots. Don't see why there ALWAYS has to be a flip side. Yeah all that skill, speed, passing, shooting, and tough rugged Dmen on one 5 man unit sure is s***ty.

Wings to invite former Whaler Vernarsky to camp
bringback91 replied to wingsfan40's topic in General
Who cares if he can play he's got SIZE!!!!!1 Homer Z Sammy Franzen Vernarsky Grigs Flip Dats Hartigan Drake Drapes Malts. -
Signed a while ago, most likely bound for G.R. Minor leauge signing which is why you probably didn't hear anything about it. He'll be allowed to wear the number in G.R., but would be assigned a different one if called up.

Gotta have Hextall in net too. I seriously laughed out loud, just pictureing that is hilarious. All taking drinks of water at the same time.

I do think coming back would magically rejuvenate him. *kinda off topic*.. the ill will showed by many fans is not shared by the team, players or front office..... In a 2006 interview, former Red Wing head coach Scotty Bowman said, "[Federov was] one of my favorite players as a coach because he can do anything [asked of him on ice]." Bowman experimented by using Fedorov on defense Jim Devellano said, "I’m convinced if we left him there, he’d have won a Norris Trophy".

Wonder what the jerseys look like? New design all together or just same thing on the new form fit jersey?

Well thankfully it appears that "The Big E", isn't going to be the answer for another forward. Even though some claim he would be due to his friendship with The Captain. TSN- Eric Lindros is so concentrated on his work with the NHL Players' Association these days that his actual NHL playing career has been put on hold. As in, will he play again next season? "Right now my focus is the 'PA work," Lindros told The Canadian Press on Wednesday. "I'm not really concerned about the rest of it. But the last couple of years have been pretty frustrating in terms of not getting through without being injury-free. . It's just frustrating." "I've got an idea of what I'm going to do and I've had that idea ever since the last game of the playoffs," Lindros said. "But right now is about focusing on the 'PA."

Don't forget about the Wings also at one time having IMO sports greatest captian, and one of Canada's greatest players either.

Management practically admits offseason mistakes?
bringback91 replied to WingedWheels's topic in General
I seriously doubt it. Look at the Rangers, and they had a higher payroll. Spending the money means nothing, if it's not on the right players. And Hasek was a huge addition, whom was aquired through trade, not free agency. -
Eh, while I agree the Wings should probably look elsewhere, I wouldn't be up in arms if they signed him to a min. contract. Could be a good thing to toughen up some of the young guys, kinda like he did with Fisch. At any rate, I'd take Dmac over Big E anyday.
-
There okay. Better than the ones they just had IMO, if infact these are the new jerseys. Don't know why they don't go back to the old ones they used to have when they first got to Dallas. Better yet, the Northstars jerseys with a D instead of an N.

If you don't like the idea that's fine I guess, but why be mad at Boogard? Shouldn't you be mad at the parents who send their kids there? When I played competitively at around 14 our coach taught us some different ways to go about it, and things you could do depending on the size of the person you were fighting. Really that's all that is nessicary. I mean really, either you are willing and can actually fight, or your not. But either way it's good to know how not to get your head knocked off. Now, having your coach send you to boxing school is a bit silly IMO. I'd think if any outside thing should be introduced outside of practice maybe skateing, stickhandling, shooting, and even checking clinics would go alot farther to improve a young hockey players game. I'd laugh in the coaches face if he tried sending my kid to "boxing" school on my dime. Fighting will always have it's place in the game, granted now days a diminished place, but it'll be there from youth to beer leauges, to the pros.
-
Which is when? Sorry, just don't really like the guy, rather him play elsewhere. Personal opinion. I'd rather wait and get Mr. 1,105pts. in 1,128 gp. With a nice 163pts. in 162 playoff games.

Why, didn't do Nashville much good did it?
-
Screw forsberg. *edit*-- the toned down version of my post.
-
I'll answer for him cause he's afriad to say it. He wants #88.
-
Yeah it took them forever to get Hasek on there. And a while to take Schenider off. Still haven't added drake but what's weird is Hudler was just on there the other day, so he would of have to been taken off, no? The Ducks site just added Bert and Schenider.

Actually Hasek was a free agent. Rafalski is not only a replacement but an upgrade. I am disappointed about Markov, but at his demands (Kenny did make an offer, not like he just sits around in a bubble bath all day with the phone unplugged) there is just no room to fit him in. Whatever there is no point in conversation with someone who shares your veiws. Be miserable and moap around and spew doomsday negitive messages all over the board. I'm certainly not one who thinks you have to rush in and make rash desicions, over pay for sub par performers when you already have players of equal or better quality on the roster. What do you want a freaking overhaul every year? 10 new forwards, 4 new dman, and 1 new goalie every year please!!!
