How bout Grigs drawing a penalty, only to give the guy a nice two-handed push to the helmet, to draw his own penalty? The Griffins came out flat, and the first ten minutes really killed them. I thought Howard made some nice saves in the third, but it didn't matter, the game was over. Our team is a helluva lot tougher than they were in seasons past, Ference stood up for Keefe in the final 5 minutes, Oulahen leveled a couple guys, and Keefe was his usual self. Keefe really pulled a Bootland on one shift. He went out wanting to fight, and when no one would go, after the whistle he charged the crease and ended up with a roughing call. He needs to control himself a little more in that situation. This is going to be a great year. Edit: And I forgot to mention, how about that disallowed goal? We would have still lost the game, but come on. Our guy was clearly leveled by the other teams guy. IMO, that means he had no control of where he was going, but whatever. I hope today's game is called a little more loosely. Coming from griffinscentral.com here is the lines ( I know someone was wondering) Lines: Ryno/Ritola - Corazzini - Cullen Ritola/Grigorenko - Hartigan - Gelech Grigorenko - Oulahen - Engelhardt Keefe - Helm - Tardif Pairings: Kindl - Stafford Ericsson - Ference/Galvin Defense all jumbled due to only five dressed Starter: Howard Backup: Berkhoel Scratches: McGrath Insana - Injured PP: Ryno/Grigorenko - Corazzini - Cullen Hartigan - Stafford Engelhardt - Oulahen - Gelech/Ryno Ericsson - Kindl PK: Tardif - Oulahen Ference - Kindl Gelech - Hartigan Ericsson - Stafford

If you wait til the home opener on Saturday, alot more people will know.

Meh. The griffins had the best team in the league what two years ago? Regular season means nothing to a team that yet to win a championship. And it's still early....
-
Keep dreaming. History means nothing when considering the move to the east. Like was said earlier, it's all about the money. First and foremost, the NHL is a business. Why move your money maker to the east, that already is loaded with star-talent (i.e. Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin, etc)? Having Pitt. play ATL is going to get them more butts in the seats. Who would the west have if the mighty Red Wings moved east? It's all about money, and the Wings make the non-hockey markets money.

It looks like you are missing Keefe (RW) and Insana (D)

My Vote would be Oulahen with the C. Quincey gets an A, and I'm not sure about the other A.

It looks the Griffins changed their tunes. Grand Rapids Practice Schedule Basically, Sept. 29th they start at 10:30 AM, and 9:30 AM on Sunday. 10:00 AM is the start time for Monday-Thursday next week. They're all free, and at Griff's IceHouse.

Unfortunately, not this year. I guess they are practicing at the Joe either before or after the Wings, so that management can see them (that's my guess as to why). So we can't see any "training camp" like we used to.

According to the leaked jersey's on NHL 08, this is the griff's jersey this year
-
Me, too. Hopefully it isn't anything to major.
-
Edit: Hmmm my post wasn't posted up.... I basically said the STH benefit is getting in early. We can see the wings practice with a "front row" seat, but for autographs, etc. it will be a free-for-all. Great.
-
Yet, truthful.
-
I'm just waiting to hear how they screw over the STH's with this wings practice at the van....
-
It's half a year old, and that season is over?
-
There was an article on mlive saying he has been offered a 1, 2, and 3 year deal. So we will see. Edit: Spelling

Fixed. Kip isn't going to get re-signed by the Griff's....and I believe the Griff's are at their limit for veterans, as well. just a FYI.
-
Well, the rumor over at griffinscentral.com is Mike Stothers. Apparently there was a link posted on mlive.com, and then removed.....We will see.
-
I guess we can only dream about that. We need a real tough guy to get the gritty-ness out of the others.....I guess we can pray. And here is an mlive article about the coach. http://blog.mlive.com/grpress/2007/07/grif...hers_coach.html

I thought the Wings want Paek there. So I just figured he is stuck with what he has kind of thing....that's a good question. As for the tough guy thing, Asking around at griffcentral, I was informed that the Griffs liked Keefe, and Keefe liked GR....but I haven't heard anything about a signing yet, so maybe its a training camp situation?

Hey now, be fair. I'm sure they look awful in person, too.

The Coyotes have had good prospects, before. And they reach their potential after the 'Yotes (i.e Briere). The team is doomed for quite a long time. They fired Barnett which is a step in the right direction. Fire Gretzky, because IMO he is just a marketing ploy to get butts in the seats. But with all that said they're still going to win atleast have their games.....in the AHL. All joking aside, they're going to blow this year. But I'll still be at the Joe for those two games in a yotes jersey.

Kopy isn't a fighter. He fought that game, which if I remember correctly was the last game of the season. He was getting the crap knocked out of him for a few games in a row (even taking a two handed slash to back of the leg), and finally snapped on someone. When there is a guy on his line that will stand up for him,(i.e. bootland in the "A") he will throw his body around more. I think this post said it perfectly: Edit: Fixed some stuff.
