The Van could ALWAYS use more fans...I'm normally the one in the 'yote jersey.

    Griffs need win

In the past, they've only raised them $1 for the first round...I believe. And $21 for the best seats isn't to bad for playoff hockey. Edit: Milwaukee just beat Peoria 4-0, so we have succesfully limped into the playoffs...

    Griffs need win

Well we blew that one, again. This team has a PP that is just pathetic. We aren't playing hard, taking dumb penalties, its just not good. Peoria is down 2-0 right now, but even if we make the playoffs, we could be out in 4. But dont get me wrong, I'll be there come playoff time, IF we make it in.

    Kopecky cleared to play?

That is assuming GR makes the playoffs, which is coming down to today. I'd love to see Kopy playing again this season, but IMO, let him sit for the rest of it. Has he been skating this whole time? Just waiting for the clearance?

    Yzerman....

Did you see all the empty seats? They might have sold enough to be a sell out, but I doubt a full house showed up....Awesome game though, and Stevie was great!

    Coyotes to honour Dale Hawerchuk

You hear the term "ring of honor" alot more in football. Its basically retiring the #, and hanging the jersey. The "ring" is the "rafters"..... I just figure this is the coyotes feeble attempt at getting some history....I think its kinda stupid...

Everyones' favorite NHL team and why

I used to live in Phoenix, so naturally my favorite team was the Coyotes, once they moved down there. My dad would take me to games there, so they became my #1 team. I've liked the Wings since I can remember. I moved to Grand Rapids, and watch the farm team, so now seeing Jiri/Kopecky/Robinson/etc. play for the wings has made me like the wings more and more.

Give the team time. The Great One (half) can't ruin things forever.....I hope.

    Kolanos and Norton

I've only watched Hudler play since 03-04....I admit that he is skilled. The hudler-kopy/bootalnd-filppula line was crazy to watch last year. But I was also fortunate enough to see Kolanos when he was actually the player he was drafted to be...not this shell of himself...thats all I was getting at. Kolanos had alot of potential, and didn't live up to it....just like alot of players.

    Kolanos and Norton

We are talking about 2 different Kolanos'. At this point, Hudler is the better player. Hudler is in the NHL, while Kolanos couldn't even cut it in the AHL ( or N.A. for that matter). Kolanos when he was just drafted, playing his first year or 2 in the NHL( I dont remember when he was actually hit/got the concussion) was the better of the 2 players. The concussion changed how he played, and thats why he can't stay with a team, etc. His ego isn't helping either.

    Kopecky signs 2-year, $900K extension

I just about fell outta the chair when you brough up Robinson. Remember his one spin move that he thought fooled everybody?
  17. Coyote0106

    Kolanos and Norton

Do you guys remember when Kolanos came into the league? He was supposedly going to be pretty damn good. His goal against Roy: Once he got that hit from behind, and then the concussion that resulted, he quickly dropped off the hockey map. He stopped going into corners, and such because he was "afraid" of that big hit. He has much more talent that Hudler, he just can't get back to that old from for whatever reason. Hudler is the one playing in the NHL right now, so I guess he has the last laugh.

Stars president 'sick' of Predators' overall attitude

Exactly! And then if they DID announce it, the fans would have boo'd. Then we'd have this discussion about "OMG Nashville fans boo'd. They suck, blah blah blah." Its amazing how much of a "non-rivalry" this really is.

Stars president 'sick' of Predators' overall attitude

Do they really need to? Plenty of teams fans hate the wings. I wouldn't have done it differently if I was a higher-up in Nashville. Why be kind to the visiting team? The away team doesn't need to be cheered (and believe it or not, Modano was on the away team). Especially with the crap that he supposedly said about the city of Nashville during the lockout. You insult my city, or my team, and I'm not going to give 2 $%#%'s about you, and certainly not cheer for you doing good.

    Stefan Liv and Jonas Johansson

As for Liv, I think he has some work to do. He is improving alot since he first came to GR at the beginning of the year. He was just out of place to start the year. He would try and rely on reflexes, and that got him in alot of trouble. He was letting in very soft goals because of it. We sent him down to a lower league (ECHL), and he got some playing time in there. He was called back up, and started playing MUCH better. He carried the team for a month when Jimmy Howard (our starter) was injured with a bad ankle. He really just has to work on his positioning. He gets out of position, and has to make really tough saves, when it shouldn't have been that tough. We were rotating Howard and Liv as starters, but Howard has established himself as the number 1 guy this year, so Liv is backing him up. As for Jonas Johansson, I haven't really seen him play much, yet. So give me some time. Another site to check out is www.griffinscentral.com

    Bring up Bootland

He has some really nice chances already with the griffs. He's been jamming away and just can't get the right bounce...

    Bring up Bootland

I can do you one better. A guy named hocketownwest has put up some video of his fights. http://rapidshare.com/files/18261667/100_1751.mov.html - against Kyle Chipchurra http://rapidshare.com/files/18462455/100_1761.mov.html - He got jumped in this one, Jimmy Bonneau got the instigator. http://rapidshare.com/files/18628278/100_2711.mov.html- His second fight against Bonneau He also got into a fight last night against Olivier Labelle from Syracuse, but I haven't seen a video of that yet.

nhl center ice at low price

sorry for the dumb question, but what is "free to air satellite"?
  25. Coyote0106

    Bring up Bootland

I'm sorry, but that comment seems pretty ignorant to me. Its all fine if Bootland wants to be happy making AHL money. Bootland, at this point, sucks. He either skates around and takes stupid penalties, or often times isn't even noticed on the ice. If he wants to be satisfied with AHL then all the power to him, and dont cange a thing. But last I checked MOST hockey players want to be playing in the NHL. And Booter is far away from doing that with his current play. The bigest surprise to me was seeing Keefe actually throw punches. Most of the fights we've seen this year were hugging matches, and then Keefe rolls into town and actually throws some hard punches. He's definately turned into a crowd favorite over night.
