Basically to sum up; The Wings do not have enough quality defenseman to ice three lines that will make everyone happy/win games.

Still the most disappointing series for me ever. Everyone thought the wings would win and I was unbelievably excited.

They'd be stupid to trade away the next Crosby. Trade other forwards for D and goaltending maybe.

I hate EVERYTHING about him! Well except his hockey skill, he's really good. And his personality, he's passionate and I'd like to see some Wings have that. And he doesn't really dive any more than anyone else. And I don't mind that he plays for the Habs. It's not his fault. So really it's not his clothes or attitude or abilities, but everything else I hate. That other stuff. -

Better get this in before the game starts: $1 for every goal by a defenseman. X $5 for every shut out. XX $5 for every series win. $100 for a Stanley cup win. $200 if the red wings lose in the cup finals but a red wing wins the con smythe. Because why not. $25 minimum donation for a good cause. Total tally after 5: $36

It was never a deterrent anyway, it still happened, otherwise you'd say, "I miss old time hockey when this never happened and there were never any fights because the threat of a fight was enough to stop cheap shots." -

Yeah, I've been to about 10 at the Joe, so not a huge sample size, but there was a fight in every game without exception. Most of those 10 games were between 2002 and 2005 when I was living in Grand Rapids. -
Mine was an impractical mixture of both, I'm certainly not going to win.

I've never had a problem with any fan base. For every outspoken, obnoxious fan there are a thousand polite fans who just want to see their team win. Outside of the Wings I typically root for a team that hasn't ever won a cup. In this case, Minny at least was able to see Dallas win in '99, so I go for the Blues. On a side note about fans, I've been to a fair number of arenas, but only at the Joe have I seen a fist fight between fans break out in the stands every single game. -

You're forgetting one important detail; without players like Orr, hockey = soccer. Want proof? Smith recently played the puck with his hands and was penalized. I think I've made my point.

While at a game in Columbus a few years ago, a young boy, 5ish I'm guessing, starting bawling everytime the cannon went off. It was terribly sad.

At point are they going to enforce the attire? Walking in the door or in the stands? It seems like if it was in the stands it would disrupt the lighting fans experience as well.
