Ericsson is a great 3rd pairing defenseman.
-
Z quietly collecting another 3 points already...we should trade him.
-
The league just needs to intervene, move the team to Albequrque or somewhere and stop this madness.
-
Is that because of the Buffalo game? Or were his stats that low prior?

1/18 GDT : Sabres 4 at Red Wings 6 (Z w/Hat Trick)

If the rebuild is successful they won't be so upset in six years when they're winning cups. Just tell them, at least you're not Edmonton! -

Well Kip, you should be happy with NHL.com as they wasted no effort or cleverness in coming up with a headline for tonight's victory: ZETTY LARCENY -
I'd rather Mrazek in the playoffs. That said, and ignoring the fact Monster has the durability of a toothpick, he's a perfect backup for solid starting goalie who plays every game besides back to backs.

Yeah, our insufferable inconsistency again. It's easy to see how when the Wings are on their game the term "contender" is recklessly tossed around and when their off their game we're all wondering if this is the year the streak ends. I believe as many others have already pointed out, we lack the transition game to truly make us elite. We are well coached though, and that makes up for our shortcomings (along with good drafting/development etc.,) and I am as perplexed as you at some of Babcock's coaching decisions but I suspect we'd be worse off under most of the other coaches in the league. Well, maybe 20 of them. So until we get a puck moving defense to help fully realize our offensive potential, I'm afraid the one month on one month off will continue.

Cross checks are not a penalty. Hooks, holds, causing opposing players slight hesitations, gentle stick contact and gingivitis are penalties.

I don't know, didn't he insist he get a photograph with all his former assistants that are now head coaches at the draft this year? I think he's more sentimental then his stern demeanor portrays. Plus I think I heard him say Glendening was like the son he never had.

Mike Yeo (Wild) Has Meltdown At Practice

What happened to them? I thought they started the season off strong? (Or am I thinking of another team?) -
Kip, be careful, he's going to look at you like he's constipated.
-
Probably just for marketing purposes, ensuring every fan base will tune in. I think he's fun to watch too, gives you a heart attack sometimes but not as bad as Hasek.

There's a number of anti-fighting members on this forum that play or did. Unless you meant professionally.
-
That's not even remotely true.

Who's left tending in Grand Rapids?

I think his was too. Very, very tongue in cheek, very.

I would say the city has an obligation to make the roads as safe as possible, but drivers should exercise caution in any conditions. I'm not certain how fitting your comparison is, but it does illustrate that both parties should be invested in the safety of the individual. The driver in your example and the hockey player in the topic of discussion. I have sympathy for the players who have invested so much of their life into the game it would seem impossible to quit if fighting meant they didn't have to. But... If fighting is the only reason they have a job, then they are not good enough to play and that's no more tragic than any prospect who doesn't make the team because 23 other players are better or used to be better and have shook Holland's hand at some point. The league also needs to address player safety in regards to fighting. Head shots are not permitted for safety reasons and can result in fines and suspensions and they happen during play. Fights occur outside the play, are clearly dangerous as well and the offending parties are at best thrown out of the game and at worst sit 5 minutes in the box. Both sides need to solve this issue.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around that logic...when no one is throwing punches everyone starts to think about the D (and I don't mean Detroit.)
-
Frank I agree with you on one point, they shouldn't have to worry about the rats. Unfortunately even with Probert and Kocur in the line-up the team still had to worry, in fact there was so much fighting back then I'm inclined to believe there are less rats now. I'm old enough to have watched the wings in the eighties and while not many of the games were televised (I feel like one year there were only 17 games I was able to get) I can say with some certainty there is at least the same amount of cheap shots now as then if not less.
-
So you want Lucic to hurt someone so that your enforcers are relevant? Am I the only one reading this?
-
Don't worry, if there is an expansion the league might just be watered down enough for the goons to get their jobs back. Though teams may prefer Cory Emmerton instead.
-
i seriously don't remember anyone blaming Cujo. Was it the media or just fans?
-
Right, we're doomed. This was foretold to us in revelations.
-
Who's been protecting them?? If anyone has they've been doing a s***ty job, by your own admission there's a lot of rats in league. You know, the same league McGratton is in.
