It's a false alarm, just stay. And even if it's not at least wait until the floorboards are hot.

Nashville has yet to lose 2 games in a row this season
Mckinley25 replied to PredsFanTheBayouState's topic in General
Now that the Wings are in a different division I'd really like to see Nashville succeed. -
Is there a professional athlete who looks less like a professional athlete than Kessel? (Baseball players excluded.)

Are other teams beat reporters this lousy?

He can get knocked off the puck, but he is relentless and very smart. If he had hands he'd be a five million per year player. I mean, all those breakaways he misses on he creates by smart defense, and speed of course.

If someone calls Howard average but there's no one one in the forum to read it, does it matter?

Have you ever read a Game Day Thread?

Merry Christmas and I hope everyone got a visit Brian McGratton last night!!

Who was the sloppy seconds girl of Sean Avery's media highlight reel?

I think the difficulty will always be determining intent, it's such a fast game and every collision has a tremendous amount of variables to consider. Unless your Neal or Cooke haha.
-
Well right, that's just my opinion that it has no place.

Honestly, I don't know that I have a solution, but I also haven't been tasked with it in any official capacity. I believe before fighting can be eliminated the NHL has to assume a stronger position against it, but there are at this time too many fans and consequently too much money, in support of fighting.
-
I agree it will be difficult to eliminate fighting from the game, otherwise it would have been done already. The thing that bothers me is that fighting is still often perceived as the only solution to the problem of cheap shots. As kip pointed out, there is virtually no fighting in the playoffs and it's the fastest, hardest hitting, engaging hockey to watch! Even if fighting did reduce cheap shots (if it does its marginal, cheap shots were the norm in fighting's hey day) it doesn't mean we have to stop trying to find a better solution that doesn't involve punching someone in the face. I mean say that out loud and listen to how ridiculous it sounds.

Physicality is part of the game, and "part of the game" is poor phrasing that I've mistakenly used before. I mean simply the fighting part shouldn't have a place in the game.
-
The game is not going in the direction you claim it is, absurd hyperbole aside, today's players are stronger, faster and more skilled than ever before. Certainly there are less elbows and fists being thrown, but that's not part of the game. I think Kip has been doing exactly that all season. (The former not the latter) Every thread tangents into a fighting/anti-fighting argument.

Watching heavyweight's play hockey is what's boring.
-
Why do players always act surprised after incidents like that? It's quite possibly the dumbest response someone could have, pretening they didn't do anything.

It's the only thing I think about when I think about Crosby.

He may be a chode but he's got lips like Lana Del Ray.

That's Bettman's ultimate marketing dream, 82 winter classics a year per team!

GDT 12/12 GDT : Panthers 3 at Red Wings 2 (SO)

Overall it's beneficial, but it comes with a lot of pretension and holier than thou attitude. -
Google translate just makes it worse, don't even bother.

Babcock "I don't think it will be my final year here"
Mckinley25 replied to trule23's topic in General
I just don't like pain. Or the sight of guts. I'd probably cry, then vomit. Then soil myself just to round it out. I do hope he stays though, but a year to year thing I'd be fine with. Well except for the endless media speculation. -
It's ok to bring up a bad play, but to keep track of that as just more useless ammunition against him was more torches and pitchforks than constructive. If you had continued to do so you'd have likely found that it had not contributed the GAA in any significant amount. I believe that was the criticism, people were just piling on Howard in an unwarranted fashion.

So what is he doing wrong? Too deep in the net? Making the first move too soon? He's a good goalie, above average even, why does he suck at this? Or is it just something he doesn't have, like Helm on breakaways?
