Babcock "I don't think it will be my final year here"
Mckinley25 replied to trule23's topic in General
I just don't like pain. Or the sight of guts. I'd probably cry, then vomit. Then soil myself just to round it out. I do hope he stays though, but a year to year thing I'd be fine with. Well except for the endless media speculation. -
It's ok to bring up a bad play, but to keep track of that as just more useless ammunition against him was more torches and pitchforks than constructive. If you had continued to do so you'd have likely found that it had not contributed the GAA in any significant amount. I believe that was the criticism, people were just piling on Howard in an unwarranted fashion.

So what is he doing wrong? Too deep in the net? Making the first move too soon? He's a good goalie, above average even, why does he suck at this? Or is it just something he doesn't have, like Helm on breakaways?

gdt 12/10 GDT - Maple Leafs 2 at Red Wings 1 (SO)

If he had a nickel for every time someone wanted to punch him in the dick he probably have like, 7 million dollars a year or something. -
I forget how the new system works (is it new anymore?). But is there a chance that the worst team could not get the first pick? There should be a max number of first overalls you can have in a ten year span haha

Anyone else remember those wonderful Guy LaFleur ads with Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas? Still makes me laugh.

I understand now, the site looks that way because it reflects the type of consumer that cares about hockey fights?

The Rangers one doesn't make sense...

Kings fined $100K for allowing Slava Voynov to practice w/ team

Slava, is that you? -
There's a waiting list like 30 years long for season tickets, they're Packer crazy over there. On a side note, I think Green Bay is a wonderful town.

Did smith break his? Cause that's normal. If he didn't that's badass.

Does Miller ever miss a game?

Bowman was certainly more offensive minded but he did have a similarly simplistic message. He also had similar expectations on the defensive play of his forwards. I think Bowman just saw the game better. Sometimes it feels like Babcock is coaching inside a bubble, he knows a lot about the game, but doesn't have the flexibility Bowman did, it's more of a stubborn "this is the game plan, work it until it works." Bowman also had (at least with us) world class offensive defenseman, and I'll maintain our biggest issue is puck transition.
-
To be fair Bowman used to say the same thing.

Well, we didn't get any help from Colorado or NY tonight, we better keep winning!
-
I love the replay because it shows just how fast he is too.

Mantha with an assist and 3 shots tonight. Pulks with 3 helpers and Callahan with 2 goals.

The wings are only 3 points behind both Tampa and Montreal but with two games in hand on the Habs and only one in hand on the bolts.

Shut up with that intellectual mumbo jumbo gypsy talk!! -
I think you nailed it, the players in their prime are not our stars, they're good players but they're role players.
-
Everywhere you go is Kentucky!! 😳

And when we got Cory Cross and he scored his first game? And I think Kyle Calder may have too.

Yeah I don't mind the snow, I grew up here so I'm used to it, but it's the only thing here haha. I admittedly got a little spoiled living in Boston, Columbus, NY and LA with all the Libraries, museums, film festivals etc., But my family is here and they don't steal my money so it's good. (I of course don't have 30million dollars though)

It's definitely not simple, but I agree with Kip in that the change comes from a culture shift and that scenario you described will be an infrequent enough situation that it will resemble the other major sports which all have fighting, it's just not a problem. Baseball may not have sticks and blades but if that pitcher wants to hurt someone, I don't know of a more dangerous weapon in sports haha. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't most baseball fights start from the batter being hit with a pitch?

I live in the other Houghton, but there's not much to miss up here, just snow.
