i respect your opinion dude i just think it would be worth it to pick up a young guy like havlat ,and i think we'd be able to get a suitable guy to back up manny and i love maltby for his price and the other players who we have that can do the same job i would trade him

i read on eklunds site (probably bs) that the redwings were one of the teams trying to get montoya off the rangers , what would you guys think of this happening ?? last i heard he wasnt doing too good anyone know how hes playing now ?? i havent given up on jimmy howard but i wouldnt mind having him and montoya in the system with liv , kind of gives us better hope that one of those guys would turn out to be hopefully a star would you guys trade for him ?? maybe hudler and a 1st rounder ?

Now, according to the Times, the Kings are pressing hard to work out a "blockbuster" deal, a league source said. The Times claims the Kings are offering goalie Mathieu Garon and the Panthers' choice of prospects currently playing in the American Hockey League. If a deal is worked out, the Kings, who are currently $4 million under the cap, would almost immediately work on a long-term contract with Luongo. Luongo, who turns 27 next month, is set to become a restricted free agent this summer. Meanwhile, the Kings are also trying to acquire defenseman Brendan Witt from the Washington Capitals.

lol does anyone even know how much roberto luongo is making now ?? only way i can see him coming here is if the wings were to get rid of someone like lang and his 4 million salary besides if luongo was to ever come here hed be busting for like close to 6 million, then when its datsyuk's turn he'll want the same or more and then all of a sudden our whole team cap will be screwed up , only goalie i can see coming here and that could make sense considering the cap would be martin biron biron legace tandem would be way better then a legace ozzie ....just my opinion

why do you hate lang?? next year his salary will be nicer under the cap anyway, bad move to trade him i dont hate lang , but i just think we dont need him and hes not as great as everyone thought he was , and hes not having great numbers like the last time there was a season like i said he wouldnt and for the nearly 4 million we could use to get another 1 or 2 players more important to get like a redden i would get rid of him we got zetterberg/datsyuk/shanahan which is our main offensive punch we got holmstrom and samuelsson who can put in 20+ and come in at a good price for us , williams although hes struggling has proven he can put up points we got grigorenko and filppila hopefully coming up i just think our offense is more then fine and getting rid of lang wouldnt be the end of the world and would give us more cash to help out or defense with our top guys getting older and older and goaltending which has always been our problem

anybody here think the wings should make a push for him even though just as a rental player ? i know hes a center but hes as big guy which we lack and i think he would do good maybe playing on the 2nd line with zetterberg , and maybe holmstrom ? i was thinking maybe the wings could get rid of lang in the deal considering hes signed on for an extra year , maybe keenan would take him and it would save us 4 million to use to resign jokinen if we choose or get someone else on the free agent market or we could use lang and some picks/prospects to get some younger defencemen, losing lang wouldnt be a big blow to detroit cause our offence is great i was thinking maybe gettting a younger guy like paul mara or a physical defencemen like brendan witt or denis gauthier would be a great addition to detroit with theit ageing defence and the fact that we dont know whats going on with fischer yet any thoughts ??

i completely forgot about woolley lol has he even been playing alot ? id definetly get rid of him for jonsson he would play alot better with lidstrom and his fellow swedes then on most other teams lang woolley rivers those are the 3 guys id trade i might even consider trading matlby next season just for the fact that 1.4 is too much for the new nhl for what he does , but since the cap is gonna go up next season and he would most likely take a paycut of like 600k after his contract ends id keep him around

well hes a consistent 30 goal guy and if we could somehow get rid of lang's nearly 4 million salary and the fact that the cap will go up next year and lidstrom will get less then his 7.6 we'd be able to afford him and wouldnt it be better to have a younger bigger better player in jokinen then robert lang ?? we'd basically be giving him up and an extra 2 mill , zetterberg is signed on for another 3 yrs so we wont have to worry about him wanting more money for a while think of it jokinen zetterberg datsyuk for the next years to come with holmstrom and hopefully shanahn still producing add to the mix maybe grigorenko and/or filppula i would do the deal if it was possible , im hearing that some picks might be all florida can get cause of his ufa status next season but if we step up and can get him signed to a longer deal im sure he can be had for say ....lang,hudler and a 1st/3nd rounder

actually i think adding jonsson would be pretty good , playing him with lidstrom would be a no brainer and hes a big guy and a swede lol and only 31 we need to start getting some young defensemen for when lidstrom/chelios and schneider leave so our veterans can teach them and we'd be good at the d even after those 3 move

i say forget about luongo , he would cost us too much and he probably needs like 30+ shots a night to work out for us i say the guy we should get is martin biron from buffalo , the guys unbelievably underrated and proved when he did play this year that he was for real , unfortunetly for him they also have ryan miller i say we get biron and keep manny now that would be a hell of alot stronger duo then manny and ozzie and then we can ship ozzie elsewhere hudler 1st rounder (since we always do so well without them lmao ) for biron and if thats not possible i say we work out a 3 way deal with someone else so we end up with dwyane roloson which would cost us much less and hes quite effective with a 911 save percentage, just no wins lol which would change here

At least Witt is sought after by several teams. Lilja was practically on a plane on his way to Europe when Kenny called him up. If Lilja turned out okay, why can't Witt? I wouldn't judge Witt on his current level of play, he's awaiting a trade. Either way, he's tougher than any player currently on the Wings and the Wings really need to toughen up. Exactly! No one expected Chelios to be the horse he's been on defense for us this year, no one expected Lilja to turn out to be a decent defenseman, fact is Witt is wanted because he's physical and responsible in his own end. Imagine Witt paired with Lidstrom or Schneider? the only reason i threw in hudler was cause when trade deadline comes closer and closer his trade value will go up cause teams will always be looking for defence with the new rules the wings shouldnt have any problems scoring , only thing i question is the need for a defensive defensemen ....we lost fischer which was a big blow but getting kronwall back was HUGE , i still think we'll need something better then lilja/woolley/lebda when the games count , and chelios's old body can finally catch up to him come playoffs
